New Airport shuttle company?
 

Has anyone used the Villages Shuttle by Signature Coacb? There was an ad in the Daily Sun a few months ago. They pick up at your door, use small vans and assured me they try to limit to villages only. Having toured Leesburg mobile home parks in the past on way home from airport in another van, I would like to hear from anyone who has used them! Also, it is interesting to note they have direct service to Sanford for $43!

I used this shuttle in March to travel to OIA. It was a very pleasant trip especially since my driver was Patty. I happened to be the only one that day although she was bringing someone back to TV. I asked her about "seeing central FL" also as I had the same experience with another company and she said that would not happen as they would not go far from TV like others. It was a good experience and I would them again!

I have not used them yet, but I have a reservation for a ride to Orlando in June. I hope it is a good experience. The new website is here.

I haven't used this service but I was curious as to what they had to offer. Their website said maximum capacity is two people. Do they stick to that? I'm curious as I usually travel with my 92 year old mother and 88 year old aunt! I guess we can't ride together in their van. The price on their website for Sanford was $125 and $100 to Orlando. It wasn't clear whether that was per van or per person.

That looks like that is the charge if you were to book a private trip.

I used them to return from Orlando after Easter and the charge was around $35. Clean van, courteous service to my house, shared with about 4 other Villagers. I'd use them again - especially since they also go to Sanford.

Click on the rates tab on the website and it will give you the price per person from Orlando. Last time I looked, it was $37 per person.

Just checked, it gives the price of a $37 fare if you are making a reservation. I just sent them a question asiking if three people can book a private van.

I just booked a round trip for mid-May today and the price is $37 each way. There is a green shaded box on their website that you click on to get to the request form, I think it says something like "Click here to book trip"

Used Signature Coach from Sanford to my home in The Villages. $43 as advertised which is the best price I have found. Very good experience but need to pay at booking. Would definitely use them again.

Yes, just used them today. Made the reservation last night for Sanford Airport. They were able to accommodate me at the last minute. Called and confirmed and gave me the drivers name. Very nice to deal with. Will definitely use again. 43.00.

We used The Villages Shuttle 5 times round trip from Feb-April. We had a number of problems. True they are a new service, but their scheduling is not on time. I would suggest "The Village Airport Van". We will be switching back to using them in the future. We tried the new service due to their introductory rate but it wasn't worth the discount.

The Village Van shuttle started off that way that is only providing service to the Villages but because at times the vans were near empty they opened it up to outside the Villages. In March I got a free tour of central FL because we went to Leesburg and the passenger couldn't remember which trailer park she lived in. All this while 8 other Village passengers waited to get dropped off. The driver seemed to only care about her getting dropped off and to hell with the rest of us. I will never use them again. If it is a Village Van then that's what it should be.
I hope people post about this new Signature van company and let us know their experience. If it is the same price and goes only to the Villages they will be successful.

Yes I was commenting my experience on Signature Coach. I have their card. They use the name Village Shuttles by Signature Coach. Imagine they will improve with time but they had some challenges with timeliness the months we used them. Didnt miss a flight but we had quite a bit of a wait once at the Orlando airport for our trip to the villages and they arrived about 25 minutes late for our scheduled pickup. The other service has vans that leave every 20 minutes from Orlando so challenges with departures are minimized.

I used this service 2 weeks ago for a round trip to OIA. The service was excellent. Picked me up at home and arrived at exactly the time they stated. Both drivers were very helpful. The drop off and pick up were flawless. Would highly recommend them for a worry free trip to and from the airport.

Used them over Easter for a guest who had a 7:30 am flight out of Sanford, had to be picked up st 3am! Their response was that they also had to go to Orlando first. Will not use them again!

Very pleased. Prompt pick up and plenty of room. Good price too.

We used Signature Coach just yesterday. Our flight arrived 20 mins. early from New Orleans. He was right there. He was at the bottom of the escalator in baggage claim with our names on his card. Loaded our luggage right into a SUV. We were the only passengers. He even asked if we wanted any bottled water. The cost is $37.00 per person. When we were picked up for our outbound flight, he was right on time also. He told us they are a group out of Boston and have been operating in The Villages for about 4 months. We were extremely happy with the service. I highly recommend them.

Used them from Sanford to The Villages. Door to door. Lowest price to and from Sanford for 1 Person. $37.

I saw a taxi car the other day, it didn't say Village shuttle it just said shuttle by Signature coach. Are you sure they are part of TV?
I am getting so confused with all these companies. Which one is the original I so often hear about?

The Villages Transportation picks up and drops off at the station in Lake Sumter Landing. White buses with The Villages logo on the side. They also offer a taxi service that will pick you up/drop you off for your bus ride for an additional cost of $10. Formerly owned by The Villages, it is now owned by another company.

Villages Airport Van (white van with yellow stripe) and Shuttle by Signature Coach pick you up and drop you off at your door. These both serve other communities in the area. I am not sure if they have a service that just takes care of The Villages.

Signature Coach was running a special in March. If you booked during that month for any trip in 2016, you received a very favorable rate. I booked my June trip at the special rate. It is my first time using this company and I hope all goes well.

I have never used them either. But I have heard good things from other neighbors.

I used their service today. The driver was right on time, put my luggage in van, and off we went. She talked pleasantly throughout the trip. We were there in less than 1.5 hours. She also explained where I would be picked up on my return. Competition is a good thing. Will definitily recommend. Price now is $30 one way.

I stopped using The Village Airport Van after trying to open the sliding door for a customer while the driver put away the luggage. The latch was disconnected. I told the driver and he said " I know. We don't want passengers opening the door." I asked what happens if the van turns over in an accident or catches on fire. He said "I don't know. I just drive the van."

I am happy to see a new alternative for door to door service.

I would think if the management was notified, along with the local newspaper, and maybe the regulatory agency in Florida, this would be fixed. Seems very unsafe, if not illegal to me.

What's in a name. . .or not?
 

This does get confusing. I am not sure if I am right about how to know the difference.......but I think maybe.......

(A) The company that takes Villagers to and fro the station at Lake Sumter is the one that gets to use the letter s on the end of the word Villages.

(B) The ones that do not have the letter s at the end of the name are others -- who did not buy a consonant.

Somebody, please tell me if that's the code for those companies that use Village(s) in the name. We have used the LSL one and it worked out fine. But I like knowing about the others, too, and I am not sure sometimes which one people are talking about.

According to the web site, they operate for flights between 7 AM and 10 PM. My question is, does anyone have experience with incoming flights that are delayed outside these hours? For example, we came back yesterday on a flight that was supposed to arrive at 9:45, but was delayed and did not arrive until 12:45. What happens then? Having experienced flights that have been delayed even longer than this and ultimately arrived after 10 PM I would need assurances that someone would be there when I arrived.

We travelled with them to airport in May.
Excellent service. on time, husband & I the only passengers we were at the airport in just over an hour.
Definitely use them again & I believe at present they are offering $30 one way until the end of the year, even to Sanford! *********

Villages Airport Shuttle tracks flights and will have a van waiting when you arrive. If, by chance, they are not there, they have a 24/7 number you can call and a shuttle will be dispatched for you.

So far, when my flights have been late, they've been waiting when I arrived. Villages Airport Shuttle is also less expensive than The Villages Transportation service.

Yes, we used them coming home the first part of June. There was only one other person and they had a special of $30.00 per person. Driver was very friendly and it was a comfortable ride.

Not TV Shuttle
 

That company is NOT the Villages Shuttle and has nothing to do with TV. I was lead to believe this also, they are out of Ocala I believe. I think it's very misleading that they call themselves Villages Shuttle.

I have noticed in recent months many companies coming into our area trying to get new businesses started, I am on the fence about it.

Confusion of Airport transportation
 

There is too much confusion between all the airport transportation companies. What I have come to realize it that The Villages Transportation are the white Shuttles and motorcoaches with the dark green letters that say The Villages so I would assume this is the local company.

Personally I get worried and a little anxious about companies outside TV so for me it's not always about the price but the security.

I agree, cheap not always the best choice?

I use Elite transportation, door to airport service to either airport, but especially to Stanford. In two years I used Elite never had problem.
