Lindsey at SalonJaylee Southern Trace
Hello everyone:
Does anybody know where Lindsey is? I called the salon yesterday and they said she does not work there any more.... She does a great job with my thick, dry curly hair and I am in almost panic mode....my high school reunion is in 4 wks and obviously, want my hair to look decent. Please let me know if you have info abiut Lindsey's whereabouts. She was the manager at the salon in S Trace. Thanks |
Oh no! Please let me know if you find her. I have an appt next week. It took me so long to find her.....
|
Seriously?
She was my 3rd try and now she is gone? |

Three different times in that salon group, I went to an appointment with a stylist I finally liked, and upon arriving they told me THEN that my stylist was gone. They told me that "___" would be doing my hair. Like usual, they either had good technical skills but do not do what you ask, or they do what you ask but are not good at precision cutting and have no idea how to blow-dry and flat-iron. Really crappy thing to do to customers with thick, difficult hair. Color Me and Urban Hair both have excellent stylists and the prices are a bit better. |
I had a similar experience with a very good stylist at What used to be Route 466. I finally found him and drive a distance to see him for cuts. According to him they promise their students at the beauty school a job upon graduation and have to "move out" some of the higher paid stylists to make room for their graduates!

I love Binx who has been a stylist there for at least 4 years. She is also a stylist that trains other stylists. Tell her "Lisa" sent you! She also does my mom's hair and when my 20-something daughters come for a visit, they go to her also (probably just because they know I'll pay it--haha)! We love Binx!

Thank you for this web address.
Though I have not found Lindsey, it is a good website to know. |

Lisa, thanks.
I will probably try Binx at some point then. In S Trace's Jaylee, correct? |

That is her husband's last name. I googled her , no luck.... Please let me know if anyone knows where Lindsey is working now. Thanks in advance |
I think I found her on Facebook. Here's the link, good luck. I think I'll try her also if she is the right gal.
Lindsey Glen House | Facebook UPDATE, her face book page says she's still working at Salon Jaylee, so I PM'd her and told her to contact us to let us know where she's working now. |
My wife went through something similar. She was very happy with Erin at Salon Jaylee at Colony, I believe the name was Dimensions at that time. This is about 5 years ago. After a year they said Erin left, and we looked everywhere and could never find out where she went and the store wouldn't tell her.
Then they told my wife she was now being handled by Yanni at their location next to Target. Her appts with Erin were about $110, with Yanni the price went up and up because he was some sort of high level stylist. Within two years it was $180 plus the tip. She switched two years ago to Victoria at Victoria's Hair on 466 by the Discount Golf Cart store in the tan shopping center. Her rate was even lower than Erin's rate and she couldn't be happier with her hair. |
I have heard that these hair salons make it difficult for stylists to find jobs within 10 miles of their old shop because of a non-compete agreement. This happened to my old stylist. She left one of these shops and went to work at a shop in Spanish Springs and they found out and threatened to sue the shop if they didn't let her go. They did. Let's hope this doesn't happen here.

I called several salons out of the tri-county area this past week trying to find her, she is going to be at Salon Vo in Inverness, I talked to the owner of the salon.
|
Good detective work, Newbeginnings. Thanks!

Too bad she's so far.
Interesting that the Salon never let me know she left. What was their plan? To let me come in today and spring some random stylist? I cancelled before that and thanks for the headsup she had left. |

After 3 hair stylists here I'm going back to my stylist in Tampa.
|
Rose at Bella's in Spanish Springs has curly hair herself and really knows how to cut it. My hair looks as good as it did when I went to Devachan in NYC at $150 a pop.

She is indeed at Salon Vo in Inverness.352-341-2992😊😊😊

You are resourceful, thank you, thank you! You were smart calling salons out of this area. Kudos! Again, thank you! |

It seems to be their modus operandi. I "found" my hairdresser when he was a very young student at the Academy. When he graduated they put him into their salon in the Target shopping area and then after a couple of years he disappeared! Luckily, he knew their method of doing business and had made sure he had phone numbers and email addresses for his clients.
This should be a lesson to all hairdressers. Make sure you have the details of your customers on an index card for later use. Not just their telephone #, but information on their hair. I have never used a salon that does not have this information on file. |

sorry. deleted.
I sound like a know it all. |
I actually found a stylist that cuts my hair better than anyone at Jaylee.
I was surprised to find her at Hair Cuttery. $18 for wash and cut. |

I have been in The Villages 8 years and I have yet to find someone who can cut my thick wavy hair....no matter what they charge. I very carefully explain what I want and they cut it how they want it. I leave every salon with a mullet! I would love to meet Lindsey! |

For those of you starting with a new stylist, perhaps asking the business if they require their employees to sign a non-compete agreement and refusing to use the salon if they do have such a requirement will decrease the practice. It is true that the business provided the opportunity for you to meet the stylist, thus it should own the goodwill. But if consumers simply say, in enough numbers, I will only use salons that do not require non-compete clauses, perhaps they will disappear from the industry. Maybe Gracie's posse can post the results of asking at all the local establishments to determine how widespread this may be.

She is at Grand Traverse. I have very fine hair, she texturizes the roots, razor cuts and layers the top. She is the only person that will razor cut my roots. It gives lift and volume. Love her |

I've been with Lindsey for 8 years. She's become another daughter. I drove to Salon Vo in Inverness last week. It took 45 minutes door to door from Sabal Chase. Easy peasey drive. I love Lindsey. She's a doll, and she's great with my hair. She'll be back in this area in two years. That's only 12 haircuts. Nancy Simmons

Lindsey is at Salon Vo in Inverness. Due to the no compete contract signed with Salon Jaylee she was forced to go to Citrus county.
|
People are in business to make money. If you work hard then you can be the one to own the salon and demand your employees sign a non compete clause. It's the American way.
