The McCarran-Walter Act
Received this today....
This is 100% true and last used in 1979 . I had forgotten about this. Donald Trumps stance on Muslims is not wrong or without Merit. ...jim Let’s dust this one off and enforce it! A very interesting bit of Legislative History: The McCarran-Walter Act of 1952 Donald Trump was recently severely criticized for suggesting that the U.S. should limit or temporarily suspend the immigration of certain ethnic groups, nationalities, and even people of certain religions (Muslims). The criticisms condemned such a suggestion as, among other things, being “Un-American,” dumb, stupid, reckless, dangerous and racist. Congressmen and Senators swore that they would never allow such legislation, and Obama called such a prohibition on immigration unconstitutional (as if, all of a sudden, he gives a damn about the Constitution). As Gomer Pyle would say, “Surprise, Surprise!!!” It seems that the selective immigration ban is already law and has been applied on several occasions. The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, aka, the McCarran-Walter Act allows for the "Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by the president. Whenever the president finds that the entry of aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.” Note that McCarran was a Democrat and that this act was utilized by Jimmy Carter, no less, in 1979 to keep Iranians out of the United States—but he actually did more! He made all Iranian students already here check in, and then deported a bunch. Seven thousand were found in violation of their visas, and 15,000 Iranians were forced to leave the United States in 1979. But, you won't hear a word about this from the liberal media propaganda machine. It is of note too that the act requires that an applicant for immigration ”must be of good moral character” and "attached to the principles of the Constitution.” SINCE THE QURAN FORBIDS MUSLIMS TO SWEAR ALLEGIANCE TO THE U.S. CONSTITUTION, TECHNICALLY, ALL MUSLIMS SHOULD BE REFUSED IMMIGRATION. Typical Trump uninformed mistruths.
Muslims Banned from the U.S. in 1952? : snopes.com It is just another of his hate talk, however well covered and promulgated by the Communist party The Communist Manifesto: .Islam, by law, is prohibited from US immigration - 1952 McCarran Walters ACT Trump is the second coming of a lot of historical figures (none positive). He simply lies, labels, and promulgates hate. This election is a nightmare. I totally oppose the liberal platform, Hillary Clinton specifically, but Trump is a total nightmare. How any person who even reads just a little or is paying attention can support a con man, and this includes his party (was mine until this debacle) is well beyond me. He just never tells the truth |
We need to use this NOW!!! Already minorities, mostly hispanics, are the majority below age 6!!! Get them out NOW or lose your country!!! This time is NOT different...EVERY time a minority population reaches a certain level the old culture is replaced. Is that what you want? Then get active in getting them out. 1 in 4 people living here in America are either foreign born or the child of a foreign born. We've been silently invaded!!!

Second, if you are German, Italian, or any other ethnic background, your ancestors were the same. And guess what..they brought the mafia and various other things fron their homeland. ALL of us come from this kind of situation and would be outraged should people even suggest they came from such ancestry but you did. Irish mob, mafia, are two examples of what we had. We used to pride ourselves on being a melting pot. Today, we want to hitch our wagon to a person, Trump, who is consumed by hatred. So consumed is he and you followers, you lose even your respect for truth. Trump lies, and you accept it. That makes you his pasty. This is not an endorsement of Clinton by far. As a life long Republican, I assure you that her lies and smug attitude is terrible. I won't be voting this cycle because of this, but it sickens me to hear people actually cheapen my country by promulgating Trumps lies. He is a dispicable person by ANY standard. |

Are there MORE Irish than anyone else? Was there ever? More Italians than anyone else? You're missing the point...hispanics...mexicans mostly, are becoming the MAJORITY. It won't be English saying press one for spanish...it'll be "pulse uno para Inglés". Do you like Mexico? Enough to replace America with it? In 20 years you literally won't recognize America. It won't look like Norman Rockwells America. It'll look like Juarez or Tijuana. Is that what you want? USE this act, now. 1/4 of the population is foreign born hispanic or their anchor baby. It's having a negative effect on this country. |

The McCarran-Walter Act moved away from excluding immigrants based simply upon country of origin. Instead it focused upon denying immigrants who were unlawful, immoral, diseased in any way, politically radical etc. and accepting those who were willing and able to assimilate into the US economic, social, and political structures, which restructured how immigration law was handled. Furthermore, the most notable exclusions were anyone even remotely associated with communism which in the early days of the Cold War was seen as a serious threat to US democracy. [I]The main objective of this was to block any spread of communism from outside post WWII countries,... Who defended McCarthy? Cohn And what does Cohn have to do with Trump? ‘He Brutalized For You’ - POLITICO Magazine Some use to be afraid of Communists. Some are now afraid of Muslims and Mexicans. Fear is a great motivator that deceptive politicians use to their advantage. In another thread some unknown said there will be violence if Trump is elected. See how many likes and retweets there are? He speaks for himself not millions. Don't let others fool you. |

My question is why? Why would those in power, in control want a minority majority? They MUST know what it inevitably leads to...3rd world...a 3rd world US. Why? Why do this? |

This is what happened when birth control came along in the 1960's and white women stopped staying home and having 15-18 kids each. It is easier to increase the white population than to decrease the black/brown population. It's probably too late for wifey, but tell the daughters and granddaughters they must, for the sake of this country, give up all ideas of a career and stay home and raise 15-18 kids a piece just like in the old days and what they were intended to do. |

During the 1920s. It was felt all those..maybe your family..were a threat to the USA. The National Origins act was meant to slow down and restrict the Italians, Poles and Russians from coming here. Wonder how your life would have been had your family been denied entrance ? I KNOW and am WELL AWARE of immigration problems. We have for years, played politics with this issue on BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE. Now you seem to suggest that the USA totally abandon our heritage, stop working toward any immigration reform, lock the door and cease any conversation. We have now a candidate in MY party (which embarrasses me) who does not discuss immigration reform beyond closing the door ((perhaps he is unable to discuss it), and actually proposes arming other countries with nukes to save money, and do away with any responsibility for anyone except those he finds acceptable. This is a man who screwed anything that walked while married (and publicly bragged about it), averted any service to his country, has lied all his life especially to his family. This is a man who publicly assails a federal judge as unable to do his job because HIS PARENTS are from Mexico. Since Trump is German/Scottish this may enter into future proceedings. This is a man, who by the admission of those who supposedly represented him to fleece elders and others during severe economic times openly and very blatantly. This is a man who labels anyone who disagrees with him with a name, usually having something to do with ethnicity of that person. So much more about his almost daily lies, but point is, you will shut the door on people and adulate a man who reeks of deceit and deception. On what basis can you do that ? |
The hypocrisy on here scares me.
Donald Trump has broken more laws than anyone trying to cross our borders. Donald Trump, in the last two weeks, has said more negative things about our countries systems and people than anyone even thinking of crossing our borders. BUT he is rich, as he always reminds us. He speaks just the opposite of our founders. He will change his mind if he finds something does not serve HIM. He promis s you ANYTHING YOU WANT TO HEAR, and turns a deaf ear when experts tell him it is not possible, unconstitutional, or crazy. He will repeat the same lie over and over NEVER discussing valid points made to him. He is more interested in"counter punching" than engaging in adult conversation about our problems. In short, those wanting to cross the border bring a much higher moral standard to the country than Trump offers us. BUT he is rich and I watched his TV show. |

The founders didn't want the country populated mostly by "slaves", they are not what the founders had in mind when they talked of immigration. They wanted capable people, not idiots. And besides, we're full now, no more room for more immigrants, especially "those kids". We have enough "losers", enough who need government help. We don't need any more "poor people". People "sneaking into our country", like sneaking into anywhere shows LOW moral standard. Do you "sneak into places"? Quote:

Your assumption, because you assume what you want, that anyone who is anti Trump is pro Clinton is so terribly mis guided. I will not vote this cycle (first miss since I came of age in 1960) because I find BOTH candidates to be extremely flawed human beings. I cannot vote or support Clinton for a ton of reasons, many you spelled out. I am a lifelong Republican... My problem is seeing people being totally conned by Trump. Listen we all know what Clinton brings. It simply pains me to see what my party has dredged up, and how people can support him WHILE they know he lies to their face. No, I will NEVER vote for Clinton, but to remain silent while a person with NO character tears down another American citizen because of where his parents were born simply makes me sick. |

If Trump gets elected, he'll spend a ton of money too. The deficit will double, the debt will go to $40 trillion No matter whom gets in, the party with your money will go on. That's ALL it's about...money and power. Stop voting for EITHER! |

If I was talking about race...why are you here in TV land if you have a love of the black man? I "fear" what they do, what happens when there are too many of them. If there was just ONE successful, happy, peaceful, black/hispanic majority place...just one in the whole world...I wouldn't "fear" them. Diversity has destroyed every place it has happened. So yes, I guess I do "fear" the black man. Thanks for making me realize it. Got an extra sheet? It seems they were right all along? |

1. First you assume he speaks the truth about those potential openings. His track record on lying is very public, validated and obviously you ignore. 2. Trump has raised so many other issues...nuclear arms, sendin 20000 troops tight ISIS, and a host of other issues, that the Supreme Court lessens. While I DO understand, that issue sort of pales with his attacks on our constitution, form of government and civil discourse. It is a quandary. Two vile human beings and we are to choose one. |

Please, your entire post reeks of being naive. Trump is nothing but an evil man. He is not a man because men do not treat women as he does, and I am speaking of the public cheating and shaming of his wives. A candidate who says that your heritage is some kind of deterent to doing your job is not a man. And today, he took it a step further. NOW, he completely once again changes his position on Syria. He has changed on almost every position because he has none. He simply says what folks like you want to hear. How people can follow this man after his almost daily lies on policy, his overwhelming lack of knowledge on basic issue, etc is simply beyond me. Clinton is not much better but at least she has a clue as to what is happening. I am sure i would disagree with almost anything she does, but your support for Trump is unsupported and you cannot support him based in issues. If you want hate speak, then you got it. Here are a few economist reviews of his economic ideas which would bankrupt the country and I am hoping he is finally forced into actually discussing these thoughts with the citizens instead of simply yelling out platitudes. Ben Stein: 'I don't think Trump knows a goddamn thing about economics' | Business | The Guardian Donald Trump 2016 economic agenda: Economists savage Trump's economic agenda - POLITICO Donald Trump’s Biggest Vulnerability, According to a Nobel Prize–Winni | Vanity Fair On the world, he want to nuclear arm more countries, dissolve NATO, send 20 000 troops to fight ISIS, had no idea on the nuclear code when asked, and thus far only Russia and North Korea say positive things about him. ME THINKS I am not the one who is not well read. YOU need to find out some things....have you read these current reports on his scam Trump Univ ? Former Texas official says he was told to drop Trump University probe - CBS News Donald Trump said ‘university’ was all about education. Actually, its goal was: ‘Sell, sell, sell!’ - The Washington Post https://www.bostonglobe.com/opinion/...oiN/story.html Of course add in the fact that he will not release his income tax as candidate do which would tell us quite a bit about a lot of things. He is a fraud and is conning you I am afraid to say and I suggest instead of telling people they are not aware you might want to become aware yourself. If you want credible links and verifiable information let me know. Just start with this... "It’s the trope on Trump: He’s authentic, a straight-talker, less scripted than traditional politicians. That’s because Donald Trump doesn’t let facts slow him down. Bending the truth or being unhampered by accuracy is a strategy he has followed for years." http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...misstatements/ OR.... "Donald Trump, the Republican front-runner, is at the bottom of the Politifact list with a sad 9% of true or mostly true statements. Just 9% of the things Donald Trump says are mostly related to the truth." http://www.politicususa.com/2016/03/...ump-false.html The supreme court justices are important but Trump himself has set new standards for lows and they need to be addressed plus the list he gave which reports say is already changing is just that...a list. He lies so routinely I do not believe a word that comes out of his mouth. |

I think and I know I'm not alone that Trump never expected to get this far. That's why he won't release his taxes, lent his campaign $6 million instead of just self support, doesn't seem well prepared and makes remarks without thinking about the consequences. He said he is vindictive and never forgives and I think this payback because Obama embarrassed him at a press luncheon. It's a publicity stunt that went too far. |

The president said recently that he is not worried that Trump will win the election. He's not worried, so I shall not worry. He has access to much more information than I do. Basically he said stand-by and enjoy the show. Who was it that said 'when your opponent is imploding, step out of his way'?
No matter your opinion of Obama, you must admit he knows how to win elections. His advice on Trump 'ignore, ignore, ignore'. The one thing Donald Trump can't stand is being ignored. Ignoring him just causes him to make a bigger a$$ out of himself and say more outrageous things. |
