No one in authority or the fire code guy, etc. will NOT remove anything from those saved seats. They are saved and the savers will arrive right at 5:00 PM like always. Always for Rocky. If you take those seats (you are in the right) but there will be a confrontation at 5:00 PM. So basically the rule is for the multitude and not for those always saving seats.

As we want to hear them sing around 8 P.M. tonight until they end with their signature closing around 9, who would we contact to see if we could use saved chairs at that time? :D

It’s our farewell good time at the square until returning to TV in late fall.

Priceless.

We will be stayin' in tonight. I will be cooking big juicy Angus Burgers with thick slices of Florida sweet onion and tomato with Provolone cheese and Hellmann's mayonnaise. I will toss a salad with lettuce and grapes and green onion and shredded cheddar and dried cranberries and poppy seed dressing and we will have something cold and delicious in a tall glass.

Won't miss the seat saving at all.

That's the very reason we don't go to Rock and the Rollers, although they are very good. And I am glad they still play so often here at The Villages......just think of the revenue at the tiki bars! :beer3:

Marathon Man 06-25-2016 03:22 PM

There are people sitting there in the sun waiting for the show to start, almost an hour before show time. I broke out in a sweat just looking at them.

CWGUY 06-25-2016 03:34 PM

I don't see a lot of seat saving... am I missing something? Area not shown online?:popcorn::popcorn:

Good for you but hardly a solution to an obvious problem for many of your neighbors.

When you get a little older you will find that some problems do not have solutions. That people who are selfish and aggressive will not change. That more rules and laws won't make the situation better. It is not illegal to save seats so seats will be saved. It is also not illegal to take seats that are saved. Human nature will then appear.

I have NEVER seen Rocky and the Rollers. I am still very happy here.

Rapscallion St Croix 06-26-2016 10:42 AM

The seats are only saved in the eyes of the saver and his friends. those who are ignorant of the rules, and the timid.

An excellent Common Sense reply, short to the point..Well said !

As for Rocky and the Rollers..they are very good if you like that type of music. As for " Rocky " he is a accomplished drummer, I watched in amazement his drumming skills at The Frankie Avalon show. :plane:

The people who are saving seats and also the people confronting these people saving seats need to realize that they are doing so at their own peril. All it takes is running across one nut case like that stalker in TV that just shot up his neighbor's house! Now you take a nut like him, then throw in the present intense heat combined with boiling tempers and this could be a recipe for disaster!

This also goes for those impatient drivers around TV who feel like they have to lay on their horns or make hand gestures for only a few seconds of their inconvenience. A few of those that come from big cities up north that are used to throwing their weight and tempers around need to remember that they are now in the south (and a retirement community) where the pace of life moves much slower. Also southerners love their guns and you can almost bet with certainty that most people are carrying them, legally or not. All it takes is for one armed hot head or emotionally disturbed person to be on the receiving end of your frustration!

The overwhelming majority of people here in TV are very friendly and have come here to leave their prior worries and cares behind BUT you always have a few nasty ones that will never be able shake their bad habits and attitudes. I choose to avoid trivial confrontations like this knowing how fast pride and anger can escalate matters. It's not worth it folks.

tell that to the lady who was beat up at the square and the other who had her house shot up....

I think it matters a lot to them......

eventually...the bullets or the beat down
are going to end up with a murder.....seems that did just happen?.....or a lawsuit from a villager to who ever is in charge of the squares...

Just letting it slide is not the answer......(lifes to short) philosophy is not the answer.......

I should not be afraid to go to the squares and lately, after dark.....I am......

I'm not sure what your post is supposed to mean.
Reread the post that I agreed with.
It was talking about not confronting seat savers, etc. that could become violent like that one nut case.

Just wanted to say, Rocky/Rollers are good but only Al Morris can sing. All the others try and sing but they are Karaoke at best. Now there is a group, Johnny Dee and the Starlights that are going to really make a splash. Their lead singer is dynamite and then there are THREE other female singers that are great. I will be going early to Johnny Dee and saving my seat by sitting in it.

Saying seat-saving is illegal obviously is NOT working.

Maybe we should bring our own seats. No one can save them for anyone but us. And they will be slung on our shoulder when we arrive. No need to risk gunfire either.

Saying seat-saving is illegal is incorrect. It is NOT illegal, it is against the rules. Taking seats that are saved is not illegal either. But that is where anger ensues. Some people just don't care if they hurt another's pride or feelings, they just need to win.

People often bring their own seats. You can too if you wish.

I hope your property back home was spared from the awful flooding.

justjim 06-26-2016 07:22 PM

Where does it say that?

Where does it say saving seats is illegal? We haven't been to Brownwood since Last week of April. Is there a sign?

trueorange 06-27-2016 08:23 AM

We saw Rocky & The Rollers at Katie Belles a few weeks ago on a Monday night. Seats were $3 plus a minimum charge of $10 per person for food/drinks. Plenty of empty seats--but it was air conditioned.
