Exec Course Closures

Where can I find a list of which Executive Courses are currently closed?

I saw a list on golfthevillages.com, but I know that there are more than what's on that list.

Excellent for those who get the Daily Sun. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those.

It amazes me that an operation like this closes several courses and makes it difficult to find which ones are open.

When you go to the online tee time system, closed courses are greyed out.

At this time of year, I don't bother with the tee time system. I just walk up and ask if I can get on as a single. I've never been turned down. Today I played Oakleigh with a nice gentleman that I met on the putting green. The course next to it was closed by the way.

Don't you have to be a priority member to use the online tee time system?

No. But for online access (not via telephone) it costs $8/month.

I thought I passed by you earlier today by the Santo Domingo gate on the cart path.

That's what I was thinking. If you don't pay the $8.00 per month you evidently can find out which courses are closed.

The free telephone tee time system will tell you which courses are closed

I saw this. I have not verified that it matches what is in The Daily Sun.

Executive Course schedules

Yup, that's what's online. The problem is that there are many more then four golf courses closed for the summer. I played Oakleigh yesterday and Amberwood, right next to it was closed. Bacall is also closed and I understand that De La Vista is closed at least temporarily.

I like to drive to courses in my golf cart and just ask to get on as a single. I drove to Hawkes Bay and Saddlebrook last week only to find them both closed. I ended up playing Bogart, but went well out of my way to find these courses closed.

You don't get the "Daily Sun" and don't have the "Online Tee Time". Do you have a "Telephone"? Let your fingers do the walking! Every course has a phone number. If you call they will tell you if they are open. They will tell you if they have open tee times. They will GIVE you an open tee time.

fred53 07-14-2016 07:36 PM

Hmm...why not just print out all the phone numbers from the villages.net of all the courses and just call the day you want to play. A simple phone call. Since you don't receive the daily paper at about 20cents per day or pay the $8/wk for online tee times. The site lists all the courses and phone numbers. If that doesn't suit just pick a copy of Good Golf Guide and it has the phone listings. If that doesn't work for you call me and I'll do it for you..... ;-)
