Certainly, the police were justified in the killing of the sniper who killed 5 or more police officers during the otherwise peaceful and legal protest.

However, while a robot device with a bomb detonating near the shooter was definitely the safest way of taking out the shooter - was it totally safe for the area? By that, I mean, did the Dallas police know for a CERTAINITY that there were not people being held hostage by another person in the sniper's immediate region? What would have been the repercussions if there had been 100 hostages in the immediate area and they were also killed by the remote control bomb?

Anyhow, condolences go to the families of the police officers killed in this senseless shooting.

The two killings of Black men by police officers does not justify revenge killings by anyone.

I think you speculative questioning after the fact for something that did not happen undermines the excellent job Dallas Law Enforcement accomplished eliminating a domestic terrorist.

There was NO rioting! There were protestors in a peaceful march.

Terrible that two snipers took extremely unlawful actions.

Protest marches also took place in other cities such as New York and Washington,DC. There was NO RIOTING. These people were entirely withing their Constitutional rights - until, of course, when 2 snipers killed the policemen.

Don't want to read anymore in your post than you intended but need to ask if you believe white cops are bias and looking to kill blacks? Why are cops at a heighten sense of concern for their safety when deal with a young black man. If you believe it is prejudice than you and I disagree. I believe the root cause is violent crime committed by black men, life experience.

No, I don't think there is a widespread bias on the part of white cops.

The two recent killings of black men by police were caught on camera. The one in Minnesota was killed by a policeman who obviously panicked when the black man said he had a carry permit and a gun in the car when he was pulled over for a broken tail light. The second one in Louisiana was handcuffed and on the ground when the officer shot him several times at point blank range.

Does Black Lives Matter have a right to peaceful marches? Yes!
Is any rioting or looting permissable? No, that is criminal and should be prosecuted.

From what I read, the shooter, Micha Johnson, would have been automatically eligible to get a CCW if he lived in Florida. He was an honorably discharged veteran and did not have a criminal record. He would not have needed any classes but just a fingerprint check, his DD214, and about $115.

Does that make anyone uneasy?

What difference does it really make? It only proves that someone doesn't need a concealed carry permit to murder someone.

Black lives matter was peaceful? Tell that to the police that had their head quarters spray painted. Tell that to the police that have to hear them chant "kill them, pigs in a blanket, kill them now." We are on the verge of a racial war thanks in part to Obama that eggs it on with his racial divisiveness.

More whites are killed by cops than blacks. Just because a black killing is sensationalized by the liberal media does not make these white cops racists. If it was a black cop that killed those two, it would not be in the news. The only reason the family even cares, half the time, is for the money they can extort from the state. Just a better form of welfare for them. I am not saying that these two cops were right. But, they do deserve a right to explain themselves without everyone assuming that they are racists. They could have just been wrong, without being racists.

I hear this thing about blacks being stopped for tail light out, like that is a racist thing. I have been stopped by the cops for a taillight out also. And they also do a computer check for warrants whenever they make a stop. You want to make a big deal out of blacks being stopped? Then, how about making a big deal out of whites being stopped also, so that you are deemed racist? YES, there is profiling by the police. That usually makes them better at deterring crime. If someone's feelings are hurt, they are probably taking it the wrong way.

The killer in Dallas said he hated white people. He also shot a black woman. He was a mental case. Nothing more. It does not have to be a political thing. He had a death wish and he decided to take some cops out with him. He had a perception that cops wanted to kill blacks, so in his warped mind, he decided to attack first. Maybe I am wrong, and maybe we don't know enough about the killings yet. This is just my opinion, but Oblunder should not have gone on TV and announced to the world that COPs generally persecute blacks more than whites, and that the cause of killings is guns.

So why is it a big deal when most murders, rapes, shootings, robberies, commited by blacks......to state the perp(s) were black (again) and look for a black person.

The fact is if the two white cops had not shot and killed the two back men on consecutive days, there would not have been any demonstrations and five police officers would be alive today. I hope these two cops realize their guilt in this horrible event. The dead cops blood is on their hands.

The sniper and the Orlando shooter are sick and healthy people want it to look logical. They want to see a motive they can understand. The press offers motives to get readers.

Years ago the Beltway Sniper Terrorized a large area. He was a Black Muslim. If you can believe him he said he shot all those people because he really wanted his wife dead and she was next. After he shot her he would not be a suspect. It's logical on a simple level and quite sick on another.

What disturbs me is that people are getting use to this violence.

Everyone goes to what they know or think they know. Some know having a gun is better than needing a gun. Some know that a gun capable of shooting 60 times in in less than 2 minutes and can be quickly reloaded is not meant for deer hunting.

I think our leaders are asking us to be patient and to morn with the families while we all look for solutions. I don't want us to be a country where your kids can turn you in for anti-government statements at the dinner table but I also don't want to be a country where if I see the guy down the street sitting on his porch with a shotgun I'm not going to get involved.
