I did not see that either nor with Se7en. I kind of really disliked Se7en for a long time. Seven (1995 film - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Kevin Spacey is one of my favorite actors. My favorite Kevin Spacey movie is Midnight In The Garden of Good And Evil followed by American Beauty. He is superb in the Netflix series House Of Cards.

Next month he is playing a man who is turned into a cat in Nine Lives . . . rated PG so you can take the kids or grandkids.

I will have to look for that.

Those two movies you mentioned are quite good. I really want to visit Savannah, Georgia. Midnight In Garden of Good and Evil Tour, Movie & Book Tours Savannah

The Negotiator

My favorite is The Negotiator, although Spacey did not get top billing. A lot of the negotiations depicted were true to my experience in this field.

But, his best in my view was The Usual Suspects. To be really appreciated, it should be seen more than once.

I have seen it quite a number of times.

I would love to watch Usual Suspects again but knowing the ending kind of spoils it

Personally, I feel like it adds to it in many ways.

Seeing the character and plot development knowing how it ends is very cool. I've watched it at least 6-8 times and I'm still uncertain of a few plot details. Plus, so many scenes are just so entertaining all by themselves.

The Life of David Gale

One of those movies you will never, ever forget

L.A. Confidential and/or Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
I'm torn, loved them both.

Don't think so, but it can be rented from Amazon.

Streaming or via their DVD or Blu-Ray service?

They change the movie available for streaming quite often.

Barefoot. Check your local public library. I assume the public libraries up there allow users to borrow DVDs?

That's a good idea. I never rent DVDs from the Library so it never occurred to me. If they don't have it here, I'll try Belvedere Library when I get back to The Bubble!

The Usual Suspects.

As Claude Raines said in Casablanca, "round up. the ususal suspects". :D

If they do no have it they can pull it from some other Sumter County Library.

I bought a Lake County Library card as a Sumter County Resident ($40 a year; or $20 for six months) and they have a very wide range of DVDs as well as some Blu-Rays and they only charge $.10 a day for overdues unlike some other FL libraries I used to frequent which charged then at least $1.00 a day. There were some $10 fines going out but that was the limit if I remember correctly.

Looks like they lowered it, at least, at the library I checked. Palm Harbor Library Information

Some folks don't like the style of The Usual Suspects. It's excellent but not for the feint of heart...heheh. Let us know what you think, Bare. :)

Favorite Spacey movie?

The Ref.

But quite honestly, the best line in the movie IMHO was from Denis Leary.

The entire movie had me in stitches.

Great movie "The Usual Suspects." I watched it one afternoon and felt I had to watch it again to see what I had missed. It was almost like watching another film.

I also like "Beyond the Sea." The highly flawed and fictionalized Bobby Darin bio-pic.

Anybody remember his run on "Wise Guy?" Terrific in that.

John_W 08-07-2016 10:04 AM

For me "American Beauty", the whole film had such an erie presence. From the kid next door dating his daughter and then later becoming his pot provider, to the kid's psycho father which introduced us to another great actor in Chris Cooper. Even though his part wasn't very big, he was special sort of nut case in Se7en. In the ending when out in the middle of nowhere, a delivery driver brings a box, only to find out it's the head of Brad Pitt's wife, Gwyneth Paltrow. Of course Morgan Freeman was always the cool head throughout the film. Both of these movies I have watched more than a few times.

I really first heard of Kevin Spacey when I watched a TV show in the late 80's called Wiseguy. It starred Ken Wahl as a undercover cop deep into infiltrating bad guys. He was so good and his boss while wheel chair bound, usually gave instructions over the phone. One of the bad guys was Kevin Spacey, who usually rode around in a limo creating big problems for the police. It was a really one of the best shows ever, but I belive it was short-live not for lack of great stuff but Ken Wahl was a bit of a problem, I believe after a motorcycle accident he somehow got involved in drugs. I really never saw him much afterwards, which is a shame.

Anybody know where to watch the move Seven? (I'm also looking for Memento, but I know that's off topic.)

About a year ago TNT was showing Se7en just about every other weekend, it was cut for TV but that film didn't have that much language to delete, mostly one scene was all they did.

I just checked my Directv online guide and Se7en is not listed in search, which includes the next two weeks, and I've got all the HBO, Cinemax, Starz and Showtimes channels as well as others in the Premier Package.

I checked Bestbuy and they don't list it either. Walmart I checked next and they have the widescreen Blueray DVD for $7.50 and they say it's in stock at the 466 Walmart. Unfortunately when it comes to Memento, Walmart only lists it available as part of the Christopher Nolan Blueray Collection which also includes 3 Batman films, Inception and Memento for $43, they do show it in stock at The Villages Walmart.

Personally I've seen Se7en so many times I've lost track, I did get the DVD a while back for like $5, I think it was in one of those bins at Walmart, it wasn't the Blueray. Memento I've only seen on TV, not in DVD, it's well worth seeing multiple times. I've seen it only it about 3 times because it will give your brain a test.

Next I search Netflix, they list both titles available on DVD but neither is available for streaming. I also check Amazon, you can watch Se7en for $3.99, you have 30 days to watch once you've purchased. Memento they show is not available.

Try the public libraries they might have it. If it is not at your closest public library you can put a hold on it and they will transfer it from library-to-library if in same library system. Not sure if they do interlibrary loan any more??
