Ok, don't slap me if it was already discussed, but is the Yamaha Dealer at LSL good? We will be buying our first cart when we purchase this summer. Like the idea of the Dealer being on site for any service, etc. So tell me what the scoop is? We don't mind paying a "little" extra on the initial purchase for conven. in service after, but don't want to pay "way" much more!

Before you purchase your Yamaha from TV dealer, check out Carts & Clubs in Ocala. I just purchased a 2009 Yamaha cart. Through TOTV member's positive feedback I found owners Ted & Connie more customer service oriented, as well as getting a cart built the way I want it. You will not be loosing the convenience of service after purchase. They are in The Villages Tuesdays and Thursdays, scheduled. No pickup and delivery charges for 4 year warranty related problems. I have yet to see any negative postings associated with this business. Give them a call before going out, 352-351-2278.

I think it will behoove you to shop around a little. It is my opinion that you may pay "way" more at LSL. Once it rolls out the door, the fact that the store is in LSL makes no difference. We purchased a ParCar in Fruitland Park and the service was excellent. The repair tech came to the house every six months during the warrant period. Of course, it's up to you, but you may want to check around before you commit. You could save a thousand or more. I'm sure others will have a more specific appraisal.

We bought our new 2009 Yamaha from the dealer in Quincy Illinois. We had one to trade in so it just made sense to do the deal here in Illinois.

But he does sell alot of carts in The Villages here is the cost breakdown on my new 2009 so you can do some comparison shopping. Also shipping is Free and there is no sales tax.

2009 Gas Cart $4899 Light Kit $550 High Speed Gear $450
Split Windshield $130. I used Jim F. in the Villages for new wheels and tires for it $300.

On the service question we needed a couple of things done and he sends the repair guy right to your house in TV.

I hope no one gets mad at me for saying this but, It seems that almost everything I go out to buy is made outside of the USA. So when I can, I do my best to buy American made products. When it comes to golf carts it is easy to do. I bought a Club Car from Golf Cart connections on 441. Both the cart and the service has been excellent. Unfortunatly, Golf Cart connection is now featuring Star Carts ( Made in China ) but, there are other dealers about that handle Club car, Easy-Go, Par car etc. I'm not sure if they are all made in the USA but, If I was looking for a cart in this economy I would do all that I could to buy American. By the way Army Guy, if and when you need service most of them offer pick-up and delivery.

Ok, I will definitely compare before we buy. Have also printed off all the other Dealers you have mentioned. Yes, I agree saving more then $500 is a savings that I can agree with.
You all are great, I know me and wife will really enjoy living in TV!

EZ Go golf carts are made in the Carolinas. They are made by Textron, traded on the NYSE. Tis a reason why we didn't buy a Yamaha or Par Car.

I bought a used cart at the LSL Villages store from Ed. Service has been excellent, and am very happy with the cart. He has been very responsive to questions, service, and after market items. I did shop around and found that they were competitive. So shop, compare, and buy what you like.

WAY TO GO, buy American!!!!! I would hate to be riding around in my Yamaha or my Star Cart, then read about people being laid off at Club Car or EZGo.

I'd shop elsewhere for sure, I think you'd save a lot

So many foreign things are now made in USA it is hard to keep track!

I purchased a 2008 Yamaha 4 passenger last summer. I was very happy with the experience, although I probably spent a few extra bucks to have the dealer close by. I have had a few questions for them, and they've been great to deal with.

Yamaha Golf Carts are made in Newman, Georgia in the good old USA. I have one and didn't put anyone out of work and I enjoy riding around in my Yamaha cart.

U r correct in that Par cars are made by Harley Davidson.

My husband and a couple of buddies (one who already lives in TV) spent some time looking at carts when we were there earlier this month. Lest you think I was left out of the fun - the girls did their own version of shopping. :eclipsee_gold_cup:

He tried a reconditioned model from TV golf - and it ran out of juice about 10 minutes out of LSL.:shrug: He wanted to give them another chance, so we both rode in one that evening.

IMHO it did not compare in comfort, ride smoothness or pickup with our friend's ParCar.

Jim (my husband) got the info on Jim (the Par Car sales guy) from Jim (our friend in Largo). Jim and Nancy in Largo could not be happier with the Par Car. The folks come into TV to service it and have always been responsive. Just as a means of comparison, Nancy is a retired schoolteacher with an attention to detail you have never seen in your life - she would have made an amazing drill sergeant (or general)

Yes, me and wife are into Harley big time. I have ridden most of my life. Had all the "wannabes" Honda, Yamaha, etc. Then got my first HD, 2005 Annv Edition FatBoy. Got it in the rare, Smokey Gold Pearl color. We LOVE it. That was actually another one of the things I checked at TV, was that they had a motorcycle group. We want to get a Road King also for longer travels. So that is why the HD golf cart struck me!
Yes, we have been to MB, Orlando, and Daytona for all the different Bike Weeks over the years! Went to my first in Daytona back in 1979!! It is a shame how they want to stop the MB one due to one group of riders.

EZ GO golf carts, a Division of Textron. are made in Augusta, Georgia, my adopted hometown since boyhood. The assembly plant is on Washington Road.

Par Car & Harley
 

Harley made a 3 wheel cart in the 70's which was junk. Par Car bought out the brand but anything that resembles the orginal is long gone and you probably would not want it anyway. I don't know why Par Car even admits to its long gone prior ownership.
As an aside, Par Car makes a gas cart but the local dealer does not want to stock them. I think the motors are Briggs or something just as poor.

I agree, buy American made if at all possible. Purchasing almost anything that has TV behind it will always cost more than anywhere else. From Mortgages to Golf Carts you name it......TV assures it costs more.

EZ Go has been made in Augusta, Georgia since I was a teenager..beginning on what became Bobby Jones Highway extension and later moving to Martinez. Textron bought them year ago. Maybe Club Car is what you had in miond. I heard two brother who started EZ Go split and the other started Club Car.

I just bought the 2009 model..great motor, nice styling. Guess it also had to do with hometown loyalty and reliability.

The Villages Golf Carts, aka, the Yamaha dealer, has evidently worked out a deal with Yesteryear Karts to market their upgrades. I modified my 2005 Yamaha to a Yesteryear truck model and love it. It's fairly reasonably priced and pretty quick. 3 weeks after my order, I turned my cart in for a week. It came back complete. Pretty sure they do EZ Gos, Par Cars, and others as well as Yamahas.

Don't know if there is or will be any $$$ difference between TV stores and the Yesteryear store in the Best Buy shopping center, but I can't see why there should be.

I may be wrong, but I believe Club Car is also built in Augusta.

Yes, that is true. I researched it and found that they bought out that Division of HD. Also found out that since then the quality has slipped from the HD standards. Being a Harley rider that disappointed me, and I redid my research and right now Yamaha gas is the best out there for dependable.

just got rid of my PAR_CAR. Service Dept was "AWFUL" charged $75 To pick up the cart for service. The villages cart charges $10. you do the Math!! Had all kinds of trouble with the billing issues. had to call the corp office, to get help. After they change the parts they don't check to see if the cart is checked out and running correctly.

herk, Villages Cart will pickup for free plus provide free loaner while they service it, if you buy there. I may have paid a little more buying there, BUT I feel in the long run I get better value from what the dealership provides right on property. JMHO.

Ironically, legend has it Club Car and EZ Go were created by brothers who became competitors. (Can't verify)

Club Car’s rich history dates back to 1958 when the company was first founded in Houston, Texas.

And you are right..along with Textron's EZ Go, Club Car is also manufactured in my hometown of Augusta, GA.

We bought ours at LSL. Because we did, we get a free rental cart in the offseason at no cost (no availability in the high season). We took advantage of that twice last summer. We had the rental units for a total of about a month. That's what sold us on buying in TV. It's great when you have company to be able to go pick up a cart for a few days at no cost. They even tell me to not fill the tank up before we bring it back, but the tank is always full when we pick up. I think the only drawback is that they are sloooooow. Our company never complains, though.

After shopping at TV golf cart stores, I went online to see if there were any places cheaper. I found and purchased a new 2009 Yamaha gas 4 seater golf cart (rear facing) from Cunningham Golf Carts in Kentucky for $6500 fully equipped but no horn or mirror. And they shipped it free to the Lowe's parking lot on 441. The only drawback is it didn't come with the high speed gear. Given all the speeding tickets being awarded in TV, I think I'm OK with just doing the speed limit. Google Cunningham Golf Cart Company and check out their web site - you'll be pleasantly surprised.
