I'll throw this out to you if your in the Lake Sumter Landing, all day Monday Honest Johns has half price ($6) burgers and they are cooked the way you order them...pretty tasty.

NYGUY 08-24-2016 10:08 PM

Brownwood....Five Guys!!

Nucky 08-24-2016 10:32 PM

At Five Guy's you can feel your arteries clogging as you finish the burger! Five Stars!

Bosoxfan 08-24-2016 11:30 PM

Five guys is the only burger joint in Brownwood so I guess they would win by default. If your talking best burgers in close proximity to Brownwood Square 1 can't be beat:icon_hungry:

Chatbrat 08-25-2016 01:49 AM

IMHO Five Guys is a McDonalds on Steroids, Get ready for the big one Elizabeth

mixsonci 08-25-2016 02:03 AM

I don't like Five Guys at all. For me, Square 1 is the best.

Two Bills 08-25-2016 03:15 AM

Five Guys? The ambience is cold and soulless, and the burgers and fries match it. I would go hungry before eating there again.

rubicon 08-25-2016 04:35 AM

five guys over priced under whelming

Chatbrat 08-25-2016 05:36 AM

We are the junk food capital of Florida-just look @ the girth of a lot of the residents--all they do is eat & ride around --heaven forbid they get any real exercise

Villager Joyce 08-25-2016 06:08 AM

I eat meat once a month at most. I guarantee you for that meal, I'm not concerned about my arteries or girth. I agree tbat Square One is better, but that isn't in Brownwood.

vinricci 08-25-2016 07:05 AM

Almost every time I get a burger at Square 1, there is gristle in the meat. On the other hand the burgers at Five Guys are so thin there's no room for gristle.

The best burger anywhere near Brownwood s O'Shucks in Wildwood. In fact it's the best burgers anywhere near the Villages. Better then 5 guys, Square 1 or everywhere else I have tried. But sadly can't get there in a golf cart.

Once you force yourself to go in through the door (the first time) all is good.

also meat is overcooked.....

We went to Johnny Rockets the other day......burgers and shakes and all the french fries you could eat...

best ever......cooked to order....not greasy but very flavorful.....and they gave us a chicken sandwich sampler to take home......the best...

they are coming back around.....give them a try...

rivaridger1 08-25-2016 08:46 AM

In Brownwood Cody's has a good burger if the cook decides to prepare it the way you order it. Sort of hit and miss in that respect.

kfierle 08-25-2016 09:16 AM

World of Beer has a great $5 Burger with fries on Monday's.

Unless you resign yourself to turkey burgers or tofu burgers (yuk), they ALL clog your arteries. On the other hand, we can fix arteries, nobody can fix the taste of a tofu burger:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Bonny 08-25-2016 09:33 AM

I'm going to Codys for a good burger. :)

I agree about tofu burgers, but.....Cheesecake Factory has a beet burger that is fabulous. Many restaurants have darn good portobello mushroom burgers.

I'm going to have to quote Al Bundy from "Married with Children" on this one---- "I want some form of dead animal on my plate!":1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

OMG, where Villages PL anyway?????

Understand that it's about best burgers in Brownwood area but had a burger at the newly reopened Lopez Pool side burgers, best ive had. Pricey but great taste and tender meat.

2BNTV 08-25-2016 03:04 PM

I went to Five Guys once, and was not impressed.

I agree with Bonny and would probably go to Cody"s.

Square one is a Burger based restaurant. Infinitely better than the greasy fast food thrown at you at five guys.

biker1 08-25-2016 03:50 PM

Five Guys is the east coast version of In-N-Out Burger. When you absolutely have to have grease, and lots of it.

REDCART 08-25-2016 04:10 PM

As long as this thread has been hijacked with burger recommendations, I'll proffer that the burger at Texas Roadhouse is just a shade better than Square One, which admittedly is an outstanding burger.

UPDATE: Went to Square 1 tonight. I have to correct my earlier assertion, Square 1's burger is the better burger. They also have the better onion rings.
