Any comments? You know how long the line would be for 44 million people waiting in a bread line? Over 8,000 miles.

Things are going GREAT!

Another problem, the homeless. Cities are being inundated.

"On any given night, there are approximately 643,067 people experiencing homelessness in America"

A home health care worker in Durham, N.C.; a McDonald’s cashier in Chicago; a bank teller in New York; an adjunct professor in Maywood, Ill. They are all evidence of an improving economy, because they are working and not among the steadily declining ranks of the unemployed.

Yet these same people also are on public assistance — relying on food stamps, Medicaid or other stretches of the safety net to help cover basic expenses when their paychecks come up short.

And they are not alone.

Nearly three-quarters of the people helped by programs geared to the poor are members of a family headed by a worker, according to a new study by the Berkeley Center for Labor Research and Education at the University of California.

As a result, taxpayers are providing not only support to the poor but also, in effect, a huge subsidy for employers of low-wage workers, from giants like McDonald’s and Walmart to mom-and-pop businesses.

Almost 3/4 of those needing public assistance have a worker as the head of the family...yet not one peep out of you on the right about how your tax money is being spent subsidizing BILLION dollar companies?

Why is that?

Liberal left policies have grown the number of people totally dependent on the government.

Guest 09-12-2016 03:24 PM

Obama has the worst food stamp record in history. Whether it was already happening when he took the job or not is not pertinent. He asked for and campaigned for the job. He made promises that he did not or was unable to keep. Obama let the nation down, not someone else. He dropped the ball. He had two whole years to do anything he wished and he concentrated on Obamacare which is going to put us into another recession next year and has not helped millions that he promised. Liberals can make up all the excuses for him they wish and call us racists because we criticize the policies. These are feeble excuses made for an inadequate leader, and for their poor choice. Sorry, but no matter what job you take, if you make promises that you can do the job and can't, you get fired. In this case, he failed that they reelected him. That is considered very poor management. Even though Hillary can't get elected now, for imagination purposes, lets say she did get elected. Would anyone listen to her use the excuse that Obama gave her this problem, so we shouldn't blame her? That it is Obama's fault?

Our economy is getting ready to tank again. This administration has insisted that everything is OK. This administration has NEVER had a month of average 3% GDP growth. That is the worst record of any president in history. That is a bad economy. If you don't believe me when I say we are not doing well, go to any of the gov websites and get the real information. Go to the U.S. National Debt Clock site and look at all the information they give you on unemployment, national debt, food stamp recipients, welfare, etc. There is a button that allows you to compare the information with past years.

I wouldn't feel sorry for a guy robbing a bank to feed his kids, so I am not going to feel sorry for people that are too impatient to stand in line like other good immigrants. When, you talk about subsidies to billion dollar companies you are talking about CORPORATIONS.

First of all a corporation is a paper document NOT A HUMAN BEING.
The money that a corporation earns is distributed to the owners-STOCKHOLDERS-and they pay tax on that money.
GE a major blue chip company paid zero or close to zero tax. How could that be-you ask. Due to GOVERNMENT tax policies all kinds of tax breaks were given to companies involved in our current HYSTERIA for green energy. GE is one of the largest manufacturers of wind turbines, the government tax breaks reduces the tax that GE pays.
MORE FACTS FOR YOU-I own stock in GE. I bought it with INCOME on which I had already paid INCOME TAX ON. I bought it because it has a good DIVIDEND. I am currently paying my living expenses with stock dividends. Even that money-dividends on stocks purchased with already taxed money-DOES NOT COME TO ME TAX FREE.

I will guess from your post that you have a pension of some kind.

Throughout history no one wants to pay tax, Yet, everyone wants to get the benefits paid for with tax collected. REALIZE-IF YOU DO AS i HAVE GUESSED HAVE A PENSION, A 401K, A 403B-UNLIKE ME WHAT YOU ARE RECEIVING IS ON UN-TAXED MONEY.

Food stamps is begging others to, or forcing others to PAY YOUR BILLS.

Today we have renamed it SNAP to make it ACCEPTABLE.

My anger-I've worked all my life. Being self employed I paid not the 7% that most pay to social security but 13%.

I just filed for medicare and due to my previous income I PAY TWICE THE MINIMUM AND I AM NOT COVERED AGAINST INCREASES.

I'VE PAID MY FAIR SHARE-I'VE PAID FAR MORE THAN MY FAIR SHARE.

Open borders, we can all see how well it's working!
The answer is simple, secure our borders and
enforce all of our current immigration laws!
Who do you think is paying for SNAP and many other
welfare costs!

Dems want the Hispanic vote, so they do nothing
to stem the flow of illegals.
Repub business interests want cheap labor so
they also do nothing.
Basically, that's why Trump appeals to millions of
Americans fed up with the lack of action!

First of all a corporation is a paper document NOT A HUMAN BEING.

And this has what to do with anything?

Or maybe you think that upper management of these corporations don't get a big piece of their enumeration from stock options...that are tied directly to profits?

Hint, these folks ARE HUMAN BEINGS. :ohdear:

That is correct.

So now you're saying that you prefer to have those American taxpayers that DON'T own these stocks...to subsidize YOUR investment income?

How selfish are you?

GE is one of the largest manufacturers of wind turbines, the government tax breaks reduces the tax that GE pays.

Wrong again.

The main reason they didn't pay any taxes a few years ago, was because they were shielding it in other countries.

Here...want proof? ;)

General Electric Avoids Taxes By Keeping $108 Billion Overseas | Huffington Post

Quote:

The company with the most profits parked overseas is General Electric, according to a new Bloomberg analysis of 83 corporations.

GE said in a Feb. 26 regulatory filing that it was holding $108 billion in profits overseas as of the end of last year. That is up from $102 billion a year before. GE said in the filing that it reinvested most of these profits in foreign business operations and does not intend to bring those profits back to the U.S.

But hey, you don't give a $hit if they hide it in other countries as long as your dividend income is maintained a high level...right?

And for those who don't know, dividend income from stocks are either tax-free...or taxed at a much lower rate than personal income.

So once again, you're simply being selfish...and UN-American.

Quote:

So I was dead on, when I said you want American taxpayers that don't own stock to subsidize YOUR dividends?

And although GE doesn't employee that many undocumented workers compared to corp's such as MickeyD's, Walmart, Etc...your same logic applies.

You think it's just fine that hard working American citizens, who don't own these stocks, should share in subsidizing them...so you can maximize YOUR dividends/stock appreciation?

Not that I'm surprised, as this type of flaming hypocrisy...is a base platform of Republicans/conservatives.

The Congressional Budget Office in 2007 answered this question in the following manner: “Over the past two decades, most efforts to estimate the fiscal impact of immigration in the United States have concluded that, in aggregate and over the long term, tax revenues of all types generated by immigrants—both legal and unauthorized—exceed the cost of the services they use.”

YES. There has already been a study of how much more the average household would have to spend per year to compensate for the higher price of not having Illegals in the work force. It's outdated now, but it was not even noticeable any more than a bit of inflation.
On the other hand, how many billion is wasted because of all the illegals in our country? I forgot what it comes to but I do remember thinking that just one year's worth of savings could pay to build Trump's wall.
Yes, prosecute anyone knowingly hiring an illegal. If enough are jailed, we won't have an illegal alien invasion problem anymore.

The Myth of Illegal Immigration and Food Prices | San Diego Reader

Guest 09-13-2016 08:39 AM

From Wikipedia:
The Feb 2011 report "The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on US Taxpayers" from the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a non-profit group that advocates limiting both legal and illegal immigration, "estimates the annual costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local level to be about $113 billion; nearly $29 billion at the federal level and $84 billion at the state and local level. The study also estimates tax collections from illegal alien workers, both those in the above-ground economy and those in the underground economy. Those receipts [apx $13 billion] do not come close to the level of expenditures..."[58]

The Center for Immigration Studies, reported in 2004: "Households headed by illegal aliens imposed more than $26.3 billion in costs on the federal government in 2002 and paid only $16 billion in taxes, creating a net fiscal deficit of almost $10.4 billion, or $2,700 per illegal household."[59]

Editorialist Robert Samuelson points out that poor immigrants strain public services such as local schools and health care. He points out that "from 2000 to 2006, 41 percent of the increase in people without health insurance occurred among Hispanics", although he makes clear that these facts are true of legal as well as illegal immigrants.[60]

Trump's wall is estimated to cost us about $10-15 billion, but some say it would cost up to $25 billion. It would be paid for within one year from the savings of stopping illegal immigration.

The study also estimates tax collections from illegal alien workers, both those in the above-ground economy and those in the underground economy. Those receipts [apx $13 billion] do not come close to the level of expenditures..."[58]
