Probably won't be as busy as some people think since there are so many walmart haters out there. I happen to like this concept of shopping having been in one not long ago.
|
I wonder what will go into that separate retail building.
|
Lot of building going on the 466a area. new Lowes will be in the area designated as Tradewinds,,, The walmart will be crowded down there also.

We ate Walmart chicken for the first time last week, it was tasty and we didn't get sick or die. Looking forward to the new Wallyworld Market !
|
The Walmart neighborhood stores are much more expensive than the super Walmarts, but then again, Publix is no bargain either.

A minor accident on 441 (not the fatality) caused a detour and it took my wife 1.5 hours to get from chula vista /441 to 466 and it isn't even prime time yet///but again that's Florida and I keep reminding myself that we have no state income tax tapping into our retirement savings such as SC, TN and some other states Indeed life is a series of tradeoffs |

I was 22 years old when I was first confronted by my use of the word "they" by my IBM branch manager. I have never used it in that context since. |
Maybe cheaper gas

BTY, there are other places in Florida that are not crowded but you won't be near any shopping, doctors, hospital and etc. etc. In addition, you might have to drive a long way to find a decent golf course or a recreation center. Nah, I will take the convenience of driving my golf cart (if I choose) to all the places I need to go. Fore. |

But traffic was not my main point. My point was that we moved here when the population was half of what it is now and at that time I was not as enthusiastic as some about growth which was measured by the number of new stores etc. So my implicit message to GG is watch what you wish for. Also consider that while TV population is 120,000 the community around it has also greatly expanded so that you have substantially more than 120,000 people using the roads in and around TV not to mention the stores, restaurants public squares, etc. Naturally I accept these facts all I am dong is point them out or lamenting about the good old days back in 2006:D Personal Best Regards: |

Walmart Neighborhood Markets are closer in scope to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods as far as convenience goes versus a Winn Dixie or Publix. The one I went to was surprisingly nice and a quick in and out.

Has anyone heard when the Walmart Neighborhood store is expected to open?
|
Well "they" say.....
|
Gas......great !
|
Interested to see style/prices of the villas that are going to be built in that area; with the location, I bet they will cost a pretty penny.

It appears the store will not be open while the visitors from the north are here this year. The Colony Publix will be just as busy as usual. I vaguely remember when I was working wondering why are all these "old folks" shopping on Saturday, Sunday or at 4:30 in the afternoon when I got off work. I partially understand now.
It's true you can go early or late to Publix and find fewer shoppers. Nah! |

yes, my husband and I often talk about the "good old days" of 2011 when we moved to The Villages! |

Let hope someone put in a car wash on this side instead of going on 441.

Had a Walmart Neighborhood market open where I used to live in Melbourne, FL. and boy did that cause the Publix across the street to drop dramatically. Can't wait.
|
Yes, it probably will. Personally I think Walmart is cheaper than Publix, for the things I buy. For one I like LIFE CEREAL for breakfast. Publix charges $4.79 a box & Walmart charges $3.00 a box. I can buy 2 boxes of Life Cereal for $.21 more. Overall I like Walmart!

Walmart haters? You mean people hate lower prices? Our biggest problem with Walmart is 1. I can't find my wife the store is so big (solved by smaller store, I hope, but no guarantees ) 2. Can't find my car when I find my wife > got a feeling this problem won't go away but it will be better than not finding a parking space a Publix and you can bet competition is good for prices.
