Can someone recommend a home inspector?

Thank you in advance.

We used Frank D'Angelo. He's very thorough, we were very pleased with him. I think if you do a search on here, many have given him positive reviews. dangeloinspections.com

Frank

Just call Frank schedule your inspection for a date 1 month before your warranty is up.

Another vote for Frank.

However, if you are going to have him do the inspection, I would advise calling him at least 2 - 3 months ahead of time to get on his schedule. When I called in November, 2014 for an inspection in February, 2015, he was already booked up through January. He is a REALLY busy guy!

Frank definitely is the best I've encountered. Recommend him to all of my clients but definitely call as early as possible. The man is kept hopping!

Allegiance 09-21-2016 12:19 PM

Unfortunately Frank (great guy) is booked solid, anyone have experience with:

Brian Harwood or Tom Comer?

Thank you!

Allegiance 09-21-2016 01:17 PM

Bump, time is getting of the essence. Thanks

Well suggest you be real careful there. Seriously.

Some of them are not good, some of them will be working with the Realtor or Sales agent and will do an end run so that you will buy the house. I do not mean to run them down, but I have found some of them, 3, to be utterly useless. A Tip, get a friend or a local handyman who has some good qualifications, then get with him, knock off all the bs, no whizzing thru stuff, then do a good inspection and let it go at that. Include Termite and all electrical and all appliances etc. , etc. All insulation, property boundaries and markers, take your time and be thorough, do not listen to the seller or the agent.
Sure, there are some good ones, highly qualified, but then who knows, maybe the other posters have a some good ones also?

It's great to be Frank...lol

DangeloInspections 09-23-2016 05:19 AM

I thank many of you for the kind words. Sadly I could not do Allegiance's inspection due to the fact he needed it right away, but I did refer him to a few other Inspectors I personally know and trust.

As some have said, like in any profession, there are good and bad folks. A good Inspector has a strong ethical obligation to the potential buyer....not the realtor or anyone else. Good realtors understand this. A good realtor, (as well as the buyer and the seller) should want to know the correct condition of the home.

Often, hiring a good Inspector is the best small amount of money you will spend when buying a home.

Respectfully, Frank D.

I've worked with Tom, good guy, does a good job. Unless Frank changes his work ethic, I will always go to him first but I wouldn't hesitate to use Tom or any other recommendation of Frank's.

+1 for Frank
He did my new house before I went to contract and spent 3 hours up and down and in and out of every little nook and cranny.
I have never seen anyone as thorough as him. Absolutely the best!
The gentlemen who is buying my house now called in his own inspector to inspect my house and it was night and day from the job Frank did. This home inspector(out of state) didn't even go into my attic or walk on the roof during the inspection.
I agree with the folks who previously posted in this thread "worth the wait!!"
I believe he is expanding his business also with his son.
So his bookings will most likely be sooner than they were.

ANOTHER vote for Walter!!!!
