Sex offender, convicted of carrying concealed weapon & 2 robberies
Welcome our new resident to the Village of Winifred, 607 Sherwood St.
Per online paper. |
Here we go again. Remember, we are the friendliest neighborhood in the USA!
|
Just curious. General blanket question. Not aimed at anyone. Would you invite into your home a person convicted of kiddie porn or traveling to have sex wth a minor? A home where your children or grandchildren visit and play.

Friendly means being warm and kind and welcoming. I don't think it relates to not being aware of real danger. Do you leave your doors unlocked even if we live in this (quite) friendly place???? |
Not sure how to feel about this. Everyone deserves a chance...but in my backyard.... I guess no visits of the grandchildren this year. Well I guess I do know how I feel about this, very sad.
|
I'm sure mom and dad are happy about his announced arrival !!!!

You seriously wouldn't allow your grandchildren to come visit because of a sex offender in your neighborhood? Are they left unattended that much? Not sure why you are in a panic over this one. You already had 3 sex offenders within a mile of you. |

Do you have Grandchildren? Do you have Grandchildren? Do you have Grandchildren? I don't sense "panic". Child molesters can't be fixed to stop, so it is to everyone's best interest to be aware. It does change whether you let visiting children ride around the loop on your bike and who you invite to gatherings I would think. Why the hostile post? |
gg...sorry, but you forgot one question...
Do you have grandchildren? |
Mr & Mrs Hitler were proud of their son

Perhaps once we begin to colonize Mars their bubble will be perfect. Here on earth, not gonna happen.

Perhaps something is lacking in me but the authorities have alerted the community and i can take it from there
|
He was convicted of armed robberies of several gas stations and a Radio Shack. Wow!
|
lasting impression of armed robbery

The only issue I have is that there are 3 pages of Villagers listed on the sex offender registry but the others do not get publicized in the paper so people have no problem with them ? You just need to keep aware of the registry if you are having your grandkids etc come to visit since there is no law against them moving into your neighborhood.

I have enough fodder with the media. Still glad to live here in this lovely place among mostly wonderful people. |

The only difference between TV and any other neighborhood is that we have a newspaper that reports every infraction of the law. You might be surprised about who lived near you in the past. No, I don't want to be best friends with this guy but I am glad I know who and where he is. I know some of the best parents who have the worst kids. I know some of the worst parents who have some of the best kids. Don't judge because you don't know the whole story. If you live near or meet this guy, be aware of his past.

A pedophile is someone attracted to children under the age of twelve. Gender of the child is usually irrelevant. A sex offender could have been caught urinating in public or having consensual sex in public. In this case, he was in his early twenties and had had sex with a female between the age of twelve and fifteen. I'm hoping that the girl was fifteen, not twelve, but we have no way of knowing that without the court records. Sadly, not that uncommon for a young man to be dating a young teenager. So, to me, his sex crime is the lesser issue -- his armed robbery convictions are far more worrisome.
Here's hoping he has gone to his parents to start a new life and that he has a chance to do so. |

Common sense is the result of years of observing and making your own mistakes. Compassion is good and misplaced compassion divides our country. RickeyD is right about work, but so many times I will see people arrested for crimes and I will think...why didn't they just get a job and buy a respectable life??? Some of the answers are selfishness, lack of respect for others, and laziness. I am beginning to think that NOTHING will change their attitude and their actions. EVER.

AND he is joining us here in The Villages because he just got out of prison. |

He needs to learn a trade and work 40 hours a week or else he'll commit more crimes on people. I hope his parents have a plan, I hope he has a plan.

Imperative!
I think to be informed, upset and angry that undesirables are living among us is a necessity. Who says you have to be the Worlds Friendliest Town and "welcome" the depraved. Immorality is not a one shot deal. You have to think that way and maybe there could be redemption for behavior but time will tell and you certainly shouldn't have to be friendly and welcoming.
|
I look at it this way, our new gun toting thief/sex offender coming to The Villages is like a gold miner going into a gold mine. His goal in life will in his sights.

All one needs to do is to put their address in the 'neighborhood search' portion of this site....and it will show all of the offenders that are near you. FDLE Florida Sexual Offenders and Predators I'm still trying to figure out why, with the dozens of other Sexual Offenders and Predators also living here...this person warrants such attention? Surely there has to be another agenda at work here? |
These are being discussed because someone took tbe time to post about them. if you want the others to receive equal press, list their names, address and reason for conviction.

I do not think there is any more to it than that. Some people can be reformed through prison. I met a few of them when I was a student then Student Director of Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners for the Minnesota Correctional Facility-- Stillwater. There were only a few of these though IMHO. Rehabilitation is possible though given the right circumstances like family, friends, religion and the like. |

So showing a photo of them...isn't something new. |

Actually, it's not much of anything. Does Chemical Castration Help Child Sex Offenders Control Their Urges? It's not uncommon to read about a rapist who was "chemically castrated" but decided he didn't like it and stopped treatments. |
The Villages is a City of over 100,000 people. You are going to have a verity of everything. As much as you would like it to be it is not a small town.
