Long lines at the polls

I do not know if this is working yet, but someone has to give it a go.

We tried to vote early yesterday and today, but the lines were an hour long on both days. I'll try again tomorrow. It looks like Trump is doing very well in Florida so far. But, there is no use counting our chickens before the eggs hatch. Meaning, Nov 8 will be the final tally on the voting.

The ONLY vote that counts is the electors. If the R party doesn't want Trump, he doesn't get elected.

How do you know how people voted?

Lots of lines but that does not equate to Trump doing well. Do you have inside info on the count>:)

I am also curious how long lines equates to Trump doing well ?

As of this afternoon, heavybturnout in Miami area which is democratic. Lightbturnout in panhandle which Trump needs.

Question is Hillsborough count, and could not get valid reports. Trump needs that barely.

The polls now mean crap. Voter turnout is now the only thing.

When people say long lines I can't help but wonder what the expectation was.

I went to Laurel Manor this afternoon around 3 PM. The was a line. Long?????

We were done and out in less than 15 minutes.

Long lines are no excuse to not vote. As retired folks who cares if one has to wait in a line.....retired people in a rush I do not get!

Thanks for the post.

The OP also confused me. In Miami area wher voting is very heavy, NO lines.

Maybe OP can clarify where they went

Actually, on what is your confidence for Trump based ?

Just checked....he leads with Bloomberg by only 1 point and same poll had him up by 2 yesterday.

All other polls for Florida have Clinton leading, albeit close but with minimum time left a lead is a lead.

MDLNB 10-26-2016 09:51 PM

Anyone see how poorly Tim's rally went? 30 supporters. Compare that with Pences. Hundreds.

I'll stand in line, but not an hour line. I'll try tomorrow. Being retired means you take advantage of the little time you have left.

I was there about 7:50 AM. Took about 20 minutes. 10 of waiting for the pools to open and 10 in line.

MDLNB 10-27-2016 04:38 AM

My wife stood in line for fifteen minutes and it only moved a about ten feet. The line was looped all around the inside and one lady told her she had been waiting in line for 45 minutes and still had a long way to go. Maybe it was because it was before noon. She had to be somewhere at 1pm so she left without voting. We'll probably stand in line today to get it over with. The last two election years, I have been able to walk in and had NO wait. It's all in the timing, although there are a lot of Trump supporters out there this time.

MDLNB 10-27-2016 02:45 PM

So far, in Marion, Sumter and Lake counties double the amount of Republican voters have submitted their votes as compared to Democrat voters. Guess the Democrats are waiting until Nov 8th for the first time in history. Normally, early voting is a Democrat thing.

Anyone have numbers for other counties?

Maybe in some election years, but not this year. So far in Sumter, Marion and Lake county, Repubicans have turned out to vote on a ratio to more than two to one over the Democrats. According to today's "other news" that gets censured when I put it in a comment.

We went to Allamanda rec center (Liberty Park) around 3:00 P.M. today. Walked in voted and walked out .. no lines or waiting.

If you want to keep your country free vote for Trump. If you want your children and grandchildren to witness the fall of America vote for Crooked Hillary. You've heard the news on her and you know it's true. Unless you are a millionaire your in trouble with Hillary. She'll take everything you have and give you a dictatorship. Trump is truthful about what he's going to do for you. Believe him. If you don't vote for him you will be so sorry and it will be too late and it will never change back to Freedom in America.

11 million is hardly a 100 million. And other presidents have bused illegals out of the country. I guess anyone that is so stupid to believe in Obamacare would have a hard time of comprehending how much it costs the tax payer to pay for illegals in our country.

Immigrants from Mexico are largely very hard working, careful with their money, dedicated to family and church goers. Refugees from Syria...the number one thing I notice is that they don't value mom as much as dad and if they think hair is sexy, than the guys should wear a headscarf too, in the heat.

Just a dumb person from Ohio.

It's HARDLY 11 million. That was the number they used back in the 90s or early 00s. There are 5X that many anchor babies alone here now. They're 1/3 the population. They're the MAJORITY below age 6.

While you slept, while you believed the lies about their numbers...they've been busy breeding you out of your own country.

This is the official number:
"55 million. The Hispanic population of the United States as of July 1, 2014, making people of Hispanic origin the nation's largest ethnic or racial minority. Hispanics constituted 17 percent of the nation's total population.Sep 14, 2015"
how many hispanics are in america US? - Google Search

But those numbers are way too low. Look around...look at the workers. Hispanics. Look at all the Mexican Restaurants and stores. They're really 1/3 the population. Those 55 million had anchor babies...lots and lots of anchor babies.

The country as we know it...is finished...30 years tops.

Unless Trump can send them all back. No hiring, no welfare, no votes, no rights, they'll leave.

Dr Winston O Boogie jr 10-28-2016 07:22 AM

Why do we have early voting? It seems that we got along pretty well without it for two centuries.
What it does is give an indication of who the winner is going to be. There's a lot of speculation based on turnout of certain areas. This could affect people who have not voted yet.
What is the reasoning behind this?

Larger voter base. In the old days, you were given the day off to vote. Not anymore. It is convenient to have early voting. I don't really see a problem with it.

So, you do not feel we should obey our laws? If you don't like our laws, why not change them, instead of encouraging criminal activity of breaking our federal laws?

We have laws for a reason. They serve a purpose of maintaining an orderly and fair society. I guess you have no problem if someone breaks into your home while you are gone and then refuses to leave after you get back. Perhaps your neighbors will say that those folks are better neighbors than you and demand that they be allowed to stay in your home. Perhaps even insist that you pay for the utilities and provide food for them to live on.

They will leave IF you enforce the laws. Jail those that hire them, do not provide driver's licenses for them, do not provide health care or schooling for them and they will leave. Yes, deny their children an education that we pay for via taxes.

I was picking the new immigrant group I like best. I said I like Mexicans over those from the Mideast. I am allowed to like one kind better than another. I think when Mexicans break the laws it is for getting drunk...but ...you can figure out the rest. Think of Boston and Orlando and ..............

Over 10% of Florida's votes have been cast so far. As of yesterday. And so far, it Republicans voting twice as many as Dems. Strange, usually early voting goes mostly to Dems. Is this a new secret strategy on their part?

As usual Republicans ignore the facts, really Reps double than Dems, try again. There have only been 6,000 (0.3% of the vote) more registered Reps than Dems who have voted so far. So Rep early voting is down from 2008 when 6.8% of Reps voted early by now.

Poor Trump is going to lose Florida and poor Reps are going to have to kiss Hillary's a** for at least 4 years, ha ha

Actually, the vote percentage is, in round numbers......and this is as of just a few hours ago

....33 % of all votes to be cast in Florida have been cast

.....total of 31 million votes

.....as of this morning....only 30 thousand votes seperate the two parties.

Wondering how many split ballots, ie....Repubs going for Clinton or Dems for Trump
