Check out why Obama’s DOJ fined Denver Sheriff Dept $10,000

They should have hired illegal immigrants.:22yikes::22yikes:

The Denver Sheriff Department will accept a penalty from the Department of Justice after a federal probe found it wrongly made U.S. citizenship a job requirement during a recent hiring spree.

The sheriff’s department — the biggest sheriff’s office in Colorado — will pay a $10,000 fine after it required applications for deputy sheriff jobs to be U.S. citizens when hiring from the beginning of 2015 through March 2016. The department went on a hiring spree of 200 deputies as part of its ongoing reform.

The Justice Department made the announcement on Monday, saying the sheriff’s department violated the Immigration and Nationality Act without having an exemption.

It’s possible the Obama DOJ was extra sensitive about the sheriff’s department’s oversight considering it took place in a sanctuary city.

Imagine requiring municipalities to hire illegal aliens as cops and firemen.

I am recommending to Trump a perfect program.

Advertise a 20 million person job program for illegal immigrants, when they come for the job, send the back home to their place of birth.

"Illegal" immigrants" are not eligible.

It's things like this, where intelligent people who do research...just shake their heads at the ignorance of some of you gullible idiots on the right. :ohdear:

Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 - Wikipedia

Quote:

Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965

Previous laws restricted immigration from Asia and Africa, and gave preference to northern and western Europeans over southern and eastern Europeans.[2] In the 1960s, the United States faced both foreign and domestic pressures to change its nation-based formula, which was regarded as a system that discriminated based on an individual’s place of birth.

In the Senate, 52 Democrats voted yes, 14 no, and 1 abstained. Among Senate Republicans, 24 voted yes, 3 voted no, and 1 abstained.[10] In the House, 202 Democrats voted yes, 60 voted no and 12 abstained, 117 Republicans voted yes, 10 voted no and 11 abstained. One unknown representative voted yes.[11]

In total, 74% of Democrats and 85% of Republicans voted for passage of this bill.

Now don't you feel really dumb, for blindly believing what you read...without determining the whole story?

No?

You should.

ColdNoMore 11-25-2016 06:53 AM

Oh fer cripes sake....give it up already

No one is denying that they were fined...just read my link to find out WHY they were fined.

The law enacted in 1968 states that you cannot discriminate against those that are here legally (on various visas)...but are not actual citizens.

It has absolutely NOTHING to do with being forced to consider undocumented workers ("illegal immigrants").

In my link...

However, immigrants also face hostility based on the rapid change of the United States' ethnic and cultural makeup, debates on the economic impact of immigration, and the presence of illegal immigrants

The lies, hype and misinformation that the right lives and breathes by...has become ludicrous. :ohdear:

There IS little to no "factual reporting" any more. And the "mainstream media" is hardly "legitimate".

Just curious, who thinks it's a good idea to have citizens of other countries enforcing US laws against US citizens? It makes no sense to me.

Likewise. It makes no sense and I would pay the fine and do what's right until the fool politicians wake up and represent the people.

So, with all the unemployment and all the folks that have left the work force due to not being able to find a job, this administration wants cities to hire green card holders---non-citizens? OK.........

rubicon 11-27-2016 02:43 PM

Why can't this nation have an intelligent and unemotional conversation about immigration? Ok its a rhetorical question but then there is always hope.

Its clearly a homeland security issue
Its clearly a law and order issue
Its clearly an budgetary issue
Its clearly an economic issue
Its clearly a jobs issue

Obama would put his name all over everything too, but all he has is Obamacare, and we know how that is turning out. Next year, Obama will only have late night TV to rely on keeping his name alive.

But as we have seen with going longer than any other President Elect without facing questions (andvstill going), it does not appear he will share with us citizens unless HE controls...

"On Monday afternoon, a lectern with “Trump” written in gold letters was wheeled upstairs inside Trump Tower.

That little wooden box sent reporters into a frenzy. Could it be that Donald Trump would finally face the press after more than four months without a news conference?

To be clear, it isn’t that Trump hasn’t spoken to members of the media since July — he has. However, his interviews are on his terms with a single reporter or, in what may be closest to a news conference, a single on-the-record meeting with The New York Times reporters and editors.

A news conference forces Trump away from leading the narrative — he released his presidential priorities via video — and holds him accountable to a wide range of questions from different reporters and outlets.

The Democratic National Committee pointed out the number of days Trump has gone without a news conference in an email to reporters Monday with the subject line “When was Trump’s last press conference?”

“It has been 124 days since Donald Trump held a press conference,” the email body read. It’s something of a role reversal after the Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton went more than 9 months without a formal news conference during the campaign."

Trump hasn't had a news conference since July

Ron_Ski 11-28-2016 09:49 PM

I kinda don't think Trump give a rat's behind about how many days he goes without talking to the sniveling press.

Or what, washed up, has been, hack comedians like Bill Maher may think of him.

In Trump's world, you either help him lead, follow or get out of the way.

MDLNB 11-29-2016 06:44 AM

Seems to me that Trump invited the press to his tower for a meeting about a week ago.

I hope he starts ignoring the press and shunning them. Obama called for transparency, but only fed the press his big white teeth smile and derisive, anti-conservative remarks. Of course, we got to see more than we wanted of him on late night TV.

Ignore the press and let them guess. Continue to allow Priebus to speak to the press.

First of all don't be so insecure, by using caps folks still don't see the credibility in your posts.

Now as to press conferences, why bother he has Twitter (which you don't look at) and he has Kelly doing live spots everyday.

I rather see him focusing on the the new Admin picks taking a 5 minute break to type a 140 characters here & there.

Moreover, he hates the MSM, why does he want to respond to their far left questions
