Los Magueyes - We were here 1st
Went out to dinner lat night at the Mexican place in Wildwood for 99 cents taco Tuesday.
They were very busy. We were a party of 6 and there was a party of 6 ahead of us. She made sure to let everyone know they were here 1st. They were seated at a makeshift table for 6 and then out party was called. They got up and moved to our bigger, better table... Because we were here 1st. When one of our party tried to sit down, a man from the "we were here 1st party" ,took the chair out of his hands. I think one of the men had a Villages shirt. |
The host or hostest assignment is what countsw , once you have your seat you must stay there unless given permission by the Maitre d'

I imagine that the same guy that pulled back that chair is the same guy traveling down 466 at 30mph in the left lane daring anyone to pass him. Based on the described behavior one has to say there are some real loonies around here and I ain't talking about Canadian money:D |

It's too bad the hostess wasn't on top of it though, as she could have told the "we were here first" group that there is a makeshift table that they could have now...or wait X minutes for a regular table. |
If I wasn't pleased with my seating arrangement, I would ask for another, if my group couldn't be seated, we would make a decision to either sit down at the tables available or leave for another restaurant. Life is too short to get into a hassle over a table in a restaurant or for that matter a set of chairs at one of the Squares.

If so, then you should have sat at that table. If other people sat there instead, then I would have stood next to the table and asked the wait staff to bring me a chair. I would have been stayed at that table. If the wait staff told me to move to a different table, I would have demanded to speak with the manager. I would have forcefully complained to the manager about being told to sit at one table and then being told to sit at another table, and I would have kept complaining until the manager let me stay at that table or threw me out of the restaurant. If they threw us out, then we would have gone to Oakwood instead. |

You are probably technically correct as to your rights and procedures, but...... after going through all that, what would your BP be, how much would you enjoy your meal, and how many TUMS would you need afterwards? Is it worth it? Then, of course, there always the scenario where the seated party are lunatics with a carry permit........ |

In this case, I am the pig. I actually enjoy disagreements in which I am sure I am right. I do my best to cause the other party more trouble than they cause me. So yeah, it would be worth it. |
We thank God everyday that we live in almost Paradise. We really try to ignore bad behavior. We have carry permits.

Everyone take a deep breath and remember that there are more of the privileged/entitled among us this time of the year. :boom:

Who would find pleasure in going out of their way to become involved in an argument.
I made a New Year's pledge a few years back that I would no longer argue. My wife didn't believe me. she does now. OK honey anything you want go for it. Hey pal you want my seat take it. Hey pal you want to pass me when I'm already 5 mph over the limit knock yourself out because you just became bear bait thanks for clearing my path. Yep you win I'm not spending the remainder of my years in a fist-a-cuffs over matters that mean bupkus:D |
