Bob Dance TV Ads
Is there anyone else out there that DETESTS the bobdance.com ads as much as I do? :yuck:
I am so SICK of that "Grace", her dog, and her overweight, child exploiting father of hers. :cus: I've sent them emails and told them how disgusting their TV ads are...to no avail I might add. I mute the TV, change the channel, leave the room...whatever it takes to not have to listen to that garbage. I think I'll write Channels 9 and 2 and tell them that everytime this stupid ad comes on I change the channel. I'm sure they'll really care!!! :swear: I wouldn't buy a car from that idiot if he were the last car dealer on earth!! "What's the bottom line Grace?" "Dad, it's only $XXXXXXXXX" Grin Grin Grin "....bobdance.com where everybody rides" More Grin, Grin, Grin.... Oh pleeeeeeeeeease, spare me the pain!!!!!! ...and to think I once complained about the big boob bimbo car ads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK, I got that off my chest...I feel better now. barf |
Honestly I never paid much attention to them until my daughter started turning the channel every time the ad came on the TV.....
I have to say that she is in complete agreement with you... I don't have much of an opinion as the channel is changed before I can see the darn thing! LOL |
Cassie325: Tell your daughter to send them and the tv channels an email complaining. I'll keep doing it until those STUPID ads are gone!!!
|
She doesn't like the Appliance Direct ads either!!!
|
Funny You Should Mention It
I watch very little TV, however, it seems every time I turn it on I am looking at a Bob Dance commercial. I immediately hit the mute button.
I got sick of it when the old man was exploiting his grand daughter. Now we have the son and they have thrown in a dog plus purchased a lot more air time. They are not going to sell you a car and certainly not me but maybe they appeal to enough people to make it worth their while. BTW, dogs seem quite popular in car ads. |
Ohhhh how we can relate to your furor over the Dance ads. We also would mute during the ads and felt the same about the Toyota Orlando ad with the gal and the pup. Drove us crazy and I notice that TO seems to have shortened their ads and are not as intrusive. They gave up on the phone number sign the gal and the dog, thank goodness.
Good idea to cram the television channels with complaints. Those commercials drove us to recording most all of our fav shows so that we could fast forward thru the commercials. Since we're not in TV during the summer, it does give us a break from all of that "crap." Upon our return, I'll definitely join in on contacting the channels with emails and phone calls complaining. It really is a "catch 22" situation wherein the ads are revenue for the channels, yet they are driving peeps away with the overload of bad commercials. It seems that there's now more commercials than program viewing in most programs. |
Well I was told by a friend of a friend whose Uncle said that two weeks ago BOB DANCE offered to send the little dog to Siberia and the Little Girl to an AUNT in Ft. Worth if someone would buy a car,,,
The following day he sold 122 units............ EVERYBODY RIDES .... fumar :crap2: |
I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.
:evil6:Now maybe he is just proud of his little girl.
Nice name, Grace! |
Take a deep breath and have a :beer3:
|
Why do car salesmen always yell?
|
OH, YES...tell her I'm with her on that one too. They are low budget and lack professionalism. YUK!!! The TV gets changed or muted on those ads too but at least they are few and far between and NOT every commercial break like the "Grace" ads!!!

Seriously...if I'm in the market for a car, I want to know what the DEALER and his DEALERSHIP is going to do for me...I could care less about his little "Sweetheart" Know what I mean? |

I spent 35 years in the auto business. I find it interesting that you did not mention what I find the worst part of the ad and that is that it is misleading. He asks Grace what's the bottom line and she says $9,999.00 and Bob Dance says bring us your trade worth $3,000.00. Do the math that means that if you don't have a trade then the bottom line is not $9,999. you need to add $3,000 to it to $12,999. There was a dealer that was running an ad in the Daily Sun which worked the same way when you read the small print it stated with a trade worth $3,000.00. I feel sorry for the salesperson who has to explain that one to a customer who walks in the front door. I ran several dealerships and I think advertising like this should not be allowed. |

Too Funny...Great comeback Fumar!!!! |
Indy-Guy:
You are right...I did not pick up on the misleading financial part of the ad. I could never get past that annoying fake grin on Grace before I muted it or changed the channel. I agree with another member's post on here that these kinds of ads should be outlawed. |
Ya know... it wasn't until this year's series of ads that I could understand some of the words that Grace was saying with her "baby-talk" ... had no idea! I also usually turn the station when they run 'em! I wouldn't buy a car from them either!!!

From my perspective the ads achieve their purpose in the extreme. I never even heard of the place and 18 posters have put the business name in my head.
Why talk about it at all if you don't like their commercial? If you want to do the justice you seem to want, ignore them. If vox populi has a collective change of mind, this thread could be removed and the company denied its desired publicity. You're giving the company exposure in front of the largest residents' group in The Villages. Just let me know. Your call. Or somebody could ad a poll. |
Advertisers are missing the audience. Has anyone noticed how the volume increases on an ad over the show your watching? It is very obnoxious. I now hit mute when ANY ad starts and don't take it off until the show returns. They think they are getting more attention by increasing the volume, but are actually causing the opposite effect. I thought there was some law passed that prevented that from happening. Well it happens on most ads. So I now mute them all. And if somehow I miss it and the volume increases, I note the product and will avoid buying it. So they spend money to get business and end up losing business. There ad companies can't be very bright. MUTE MUTE MUTE, great invention.
|
I'm told the volume doesn't increase really. I don't believe that.
Instead, a broadcast engineer friend of mine said it has to do with audio compression. I didn't understand his explanation. Is there an engineer type on here could explain that? If that compress thing is so, it should be regulated out of existence, too. The disruptive volume of some commercials is an embarrassment. Again, why do they do it? Because it works. People get mad, but they get the message and enough of them buy to make it worthwhile. If more of us would deliberately avoid the products, we could take care of the company. Also, I don't hear this intrusive volume on commercial television, only on DirecTV. We could show our dissatisfaction to the satellite people, too. |
I have to agree with Tony - like or dislike the ads (I tend towards "dislike" but am not adamant about it) they certainly got your attention. The name "Bob Dance" and "Grace" are right up there is our mindset now and we all relate them to cars. Geez, I think maybe this idiot actually is getting his money's worth out of his ads!:rant-rave:
|
WOW I am glad it is not just me who's skin crawls every other minute when the back to back ads come on..i suppose since Bob has passed away last year that all that money is going to advertising
Hope Gracie has a great college fund saved up and it's not all being spent on tv ads.. hopefully she will not go into car sells..but then again it may bring a whole new generation of GRACE DANCE ad where her kids are yelling.... I told you everybody rides..:yuck: |
I wonder how many pedophiles are enjoying looking at Grace and wondering where she lives. Grace is exploited just like JonBenet Ramsey was and see where that got her. In high school I had a friend that was the head majorette. She got her picture taken and the picture appeared in the newspaper. She received a few salaciously sexual letters from some very strange people. Sad but true. And shame on Bob Dance. Putting the dog in the commercial is one thing but putting his pretty granddaughter is another thing all together. Emails to the TV stations airing the aids should generate a change if people threaten not to watch the affiliate stations (i.e., CBA, ABC, etc.) where the ads appear.
|
Bob Dance got his "Dear John" letter from Chrysler according to the Newspaper but he was quoted as saying he wasn't closing. Would sell "pre-owned" vehicles and concentrate on his Hyunda dealership. Guess the commercials will be around for a while.

Sorry Tony. What your friend told you has only to do with terrestrial radio. Those stations you get on your wireless. We were required by the FCC to have a "modulation monitor". That is an audio compression (and expansion) device that keeps the modulation (audio level) constant from event to event. There are some pretty stiff fines for modulation over 100%. Enter cable TV and Radio. All bets are off. No modulation monitor here. The audio of the commercials is at least 15% to 20% higher than the programming. It is possible that programming is being delivered at 80% modulation and the ads are 100%, but I don't think so. I made my living for 40 years airing commercials. Now, I push the mute button when they come on. |
You know what really bothers me?
In not very many years, Grace will be one of those anorexic but top-heavy bimbos, "selling" cars all by herself, without Daddy or pooch! And the spiel will be just as bad! SWR |
cause they know that nobody is listening?

Bob Dance Commercials
Recently an Ad Agency spokesperson was asked about the obnoxious commercials. Her reply was we don't care if people like them we want to get people tlking about them. I detest most of the commercials and I was once in the business. They were different then.:sigh:

Come on now...read the posts...I'm definitely not the only one that thinks bob dance is running sick ads to grease his own pocket. If we can only air those things that you, personally, agree with then count me OUT from now on. Oh, gotta run...grace is on TV now .... where's my MUTE button :cus: |
Patches,
I suggest you read my post again, a little closer this time. |

OH YUK....now I will have those thoughts everytime I see the darn thing... The saddest part is that in the 6 minutes it has taken me to read through everyone of these postings....the ad has been on 3 times!!! Oh dear!! |

I feel so much less guilty for hating the ads. What an annoying child. And I tried switching channels too but there they were. Every thing all about them and the everyone rides. How much longer do we have to put up with this before everyone rebels? Is there a website about bobdancesucks.com? I'd pay to support sending the child and bobbypoo to siberia. I'd put the dog in therapy and adopt the poor thing.

Folks - these are nothing but ads. The dad of the girl was used in the ads back in the 60s. Then Grandpa (Bob Dance) switched to the grand daughter. We have David Maus, We have the cute blie-eyed blonde with the wink and the tight tee-shirt. We have the guy with the dog. We used to have the sexy voiced latino lady with Lexus. Where did she go?
When I was in NJ, we had different but the same aggravating ads. I am sure that these type of ads exist in the area where you are from. These people are just trying to sell cars. A very hard job in itself and they need all of the gimmicks that they can find. Let it be or either hit the mute or previous channel button if you do not like it. That is the beauty of television. |
And as much as I hate the ads that exploit children - IMHO they are far less obnoxious than Jon & Kate or the shows where wives are swapped. How do you explain to kids that there mommy is gone for a few weeks? To me it borders on child abuse. When I was 7 my mom needed heart surgery so I stayed with my aunt & uncle - and that was traumatic. How much worse to have a stranger in your home tucking you in at night. Ughhhhh!
|
and speaking of things on TV to hate. How can anyone enjoy those reality shows where they eat worms. YUCK!
|
sorry but bob did in fact pass away last year and his son ..GRACIES dad is now doing the commercials..bob dance was gracies grandfather and she used to do the ads with him before he died...
