What's everyone cooking for Christmas dinner?

I'm cooking a prime rib with a salt, butter, rosemary and garlic rub served with au jus and horseradish/sourcream sauce. Roasted fresh brussell sprouts, carrots, hunks of onion tossed in olive oil, salt/pepper. Twice baked potatoes. salad, homemade bread and butter and dessert.

Name your price per serving. :mmmm:

No need for another place setting...and will bring own take-out containers. :D

Ok, so share what you guys are cooking! It's just my husband and me. We had our family Christmas last week and it seemed like we should still have a big dinner so today we went to Publix and bought everything. Oh and I forgot Publix had lobster tails for $5.00 each and I bought two!

Sable99 12-22-2016 06:47 PM

We are getting Cody's takeout. We pick it up on Saturday and heat it up on Sunday. The meal is for four and that way the three of us should get a few leftovers! We have never done this before so I hope it is good! The manager told us they do 100 meals for Thanksgiving and around 50 for Christmas.

We were going to go to Hacienda Hills Country Club but that is a buffet and we don't eat that much!

Jima64 12-22-2016 07:15 PM

Ham for two, scalloped potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower.

Jaggy 12-22-2016 07:41 PM

Spiral ham.. scalloped potatoes, fresh green beans, rolls and pecan pie for desert !!

784caroline 12-22-2016 07:48 PM

Prime Rib here for Xmas Eve......birthday celebration!!!

Bitsee 12-22-2016 08:32 PM

We are having my signiture french onion soup to start, fresh pork tenderloin with a pineapple honey glaze, Real mashed potatoes with garlic and a savory gravy simmered in the pork tenderloin juices.
Fresh green beans with roasted walnuts and pearl onions, and of course my mothers" vintage recipe" cinnamon crab apples that my grandmother made on the farm for holidays only. We are not real big dessert folks, so for the finale I purchased Russell Stovers peppermint bark candy that will compliment freshly brewed coffee for all our guests ~ Happy Holiday's !

raynan 12-22-2016 08:33 PM

Spiral baked glazed ham with sliced pineapple, augrauten potatoes, homemade Boston baked beans, salad and rolls, apple pie.

Madelaine Amee 12-22-2016 08:41 PM

Boneless Turkey Breast, Sausage sage and onion stuffing, Brussels and cauliflower with cheese sauce, oven roasted potatoes. Followed by whatever we want .... the freezer is packed with great stuff.

retiredguy123 12-22-2016 09:15 PM

I'm going to open a can of Spam which I have been saving for a special occasion.

OpusX1 12-22-2016 09:20 PM

Whole prime filet From fresh market. Stuffed with grilled onions, bacon, capers, and sharp cheddar cheese. Antipasto salad and a lobster tail per person. Grape pie for desert. Plenty for 8 of us.

Buckeye Bob 12-22-2016 09:27 PM

Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly on toast with a side of potato chips.

asianthree 12-23-2016 06:11 AM

Lobster bisque, micro green salad, rack of lamb with baby carrots. And new potatoes from garden. Brûlée, poached pear, cheesecake. Four wines paired perfectly.

CFrance....pick us up on your way over to their house.

Antipasto, lasagna, baked eggplant, spagetti squash for those that don't eat pasta, meatballs, sausage, salad.

Don't know what's for desert, others are bringing.

After all that we are taking a long, very long bike ride!

Taltarzac725 12-23-2016 09:29 AM

Probably grilling Winn-Dixie steaks.

Hi:
Do you have a special rub you use for your prime rib? Last year I did salt, garlic and colored cracked peppercorns. I found another recipe this year. I might try this: Prime Rib with Garlic Herb Butter - YouTube

Harleyman 12-23-2016 02:05 PM

Have Fork, Will Travel! :D

Italian meal on Christmas Day!

BobandMary 12-23-2016 08:58 PM

I love talking about food! We are making filet mignon, Jimmy Gormley crab casserole, carrots/onions, tomato/broccoli casserole, green beans, baked potatoes with sour cream and chives, and a huge tossed salad. I ordered a large coconut cake from Miss Kathy's Cotillion and our friend Jack made a delicious rum and nut cake. Thank God it will be nice weather and we can all sit outside. We are blessed to be here!

Sounds delicious especially Kathy's Coconut cake. My favorite thing at the Cotillion!

Nostalgic Ann

The Italian tradition called "The Feast of Seven Fishes" served with love and pride on Christmas Eve and enjoyed through generations and today shared with our children, grandchildren and family friends. Shrimp, lobster, calamari, mussels, clams, octopus and pasta with an array of fish. A delightful eating experience!

jnieman 12-26-2016 06:01 PM

Sounds really good!

pooh 12-26-2016 06:02 PM

Went to our son's house. Appetizers of white truffle brie, salami, prosciutto with crackers. Dinner.... Beef Wellington, fingerling potatoes with bacon, butter, spices, baby arugula salad, home made Christmas chutney, dinner rolls, a deliciius red wine...and dessert....Gordon Ramsey's sticky toffee chocolate pudding.

LOL, thanks it was. Son is a chef....love it when he cooks!

Everything sounds so good. I hope you all enjoyed your meals. My hubby was admitted to the hospital on Christmas Eve so they fed him. I was so exhausted and stressed when I came, that I had cold cereal for dinner. For Christmas Day, they served him overcooked prime rib, and I cam home to a frozen entree. I was not there for his meal times today, but he is being fed. Since I am so tired, and not hungry enough to bother to fix anything, I'll take the weight loss instead. It has been quite a different and lonely Christmas for us, that is for sure!

I'm so sorry. Anything any of us can do to help?

Carla B 12-26-2016 09:10 PM

I'm sorry that happened to your husband and you. Illness disregards dates. Please keep us posted and like Pooh asked, is there anything we can do to help?

Nucky 12-26-2016 10:13 PM

Our youngest son showed up with very little notice sort of. He is being deployed sometime in February. Mrs Nucky cooked like he was going to jail tomorrow. We had a blast, he saved the day again. I knew he was coming but had to keep it quiet....rough one...whew...what a good kid and a new wife and Monstrous German Shepard. Took our mind off missing the grandkids in Jersey. Best Christmas in a long time. Not Going to be able to fit thru the Golden Arches At Mcdonald's for a while. Need some Pepto!

Wishing you and your husband the best.
