Miami will soon be a bedroom community to us.

kellyjam 01-03-2017 01:10 PM

We will be able to go to Disneyworld in our carts. :a040:

tv2016 01-03-2017 02:00 PM

Wonder how far from Fenney.

NYGUY 01-03-2017 02:53 PM

I would guess that the development of noncontiguous villages will enhance our property values.

xkeowner 01-03-2017 03:08 PM

A Golf Cart Link to Cross The Turnpike?

The property appears to be adjacent to the Bailey Road overpass which currently only has dirt approaches to bridge across the turnpike. The approaches could probably be paved and used for golf carts.

From the East side of Fenney to the West side on this new land is about 2 miles of travel distance by car or bike.

Rickg 01-03-2017 03:37 PM

Bailey rd overpass is just the correct width for a two lane golf cart bridge. Smart move for the Villages. We now know how they will cross the Fl. Turnpike. Now for Rt 44.

Now for a laugh-----this is a post by someone from May 2016 regarding the purchase of land south of 44:

"This rumor is just about as plausible as what a Realtor (one of the major real estate firms selling in the area) told me a about six months ago. He told me, with a serious face, that The Village Developer had purchase 32,000 acres south of 44 to continue building The Villages. I ask politely if he meant 3,200 acres----no it was 32,000 and it came from a very reliable source that knows the family very well.

Sometimes you don't know to laugh or to cry. I walked away laughing to myself about this absurd rumor"

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging but ...
I posted about the parcel back in September 2016.

Yes. I remember that thread. And I remember the suspicion that it was The Villages buying it through an intermediary which now appears to be accurate.

I think where we now live will be The Homeland while "The Developer" will continue to develop other Villages wherever they deem appropriate.

Is the new area about 1/2 way between Fenney and the current southern border near route 44?

I wish I didn't feel now as if this might be the only house purchased in our lifetime that won't appreciate in value.

Of course it's a guess, but I think houses on the original "Homeland" will appreciate in value.

I can't figure out any possible reason why you think that might be the case.

I think that's right. We will be living where the supply has maxed out (The Homeland). All new owners will be living in separate noncontiguous villages.

Until it becomes contiguous.

Bonny 01-04-2017 03:49 PM

If there is available property, someone will build on it. I would much rather have the Villages develop it than someone who could care less about the Villages.

Same was said when building the new section south of 466A. "Would anyone want to live that close to Wildwood?"

Not sure I get your point. The land just purchased by TV is north east of the turnpike. There is no need to cross it.

Too bad you did not ask the realtor about playing golf in July.

Didn't have to---I play every July. And June, and August, all months that end in "y", "h", "l", "e", "t", "r"---and if we had a month ending in "q" I'd play then as well. Ask a central NY realtor about playing in January.
