It is a sad reflection on our society when you have to offer a $100,000 reward to help catch a cop killer, female cop at that. What the hell is the matter with this state?

Make the reward $5.00 and instead of for the capture, make it for the proof of death and there would not be a ghetto that he could hide in. Need to bring back those old Dead or Alive posters.

Your post and the original post expressing regret about a 100,000 reward being offered for tips leading to the capture of that cop killer, led me to do a bit of research. We have long had the practice of offering such rewards. While there were some where the reward was paid dead or alive, they were to appeal to professional bounty hunters in an era where police were few and far between except in cities.

The Saint Louis Midland Rail Road offered 25,000 in gold for Jesse James dead or alive-that of course far more than the 100,000 reward being offered. Today, were you to shoot this lowlife, you would need to prove he represented a danger and you had no other choice.

Good point. And $25K was a substantial amount of money in those days, too.

Of course, I was just being facetious when I suggested that they could save money if they had a "Dead or Alive" poster on the cretin. With the amount of shootings in the ghetto today, that would be giving the green light to the hunt.

In my personal opinion the tragic death of an Orlando cop dove tails into the kerfuffle going on between congressman over the painting in a congressional building hallway. This particular painting exhibited in a hallway on behalf of a high school student depicts a pig dressed as a cop. The picture's theme in its entirety is about police bias and killing of blacks.

Republican Congressman take the picture down and Democrat Congressman put it back up claiming "free speech" Clay (D) makes that specific claim but has in the past demanded that all things confederate be removed (statutes flags, etc) apparently he is offended by the mere mention of the Confederacy

The Civil War is part of our history. Confederate soldiers were considered America veterans and qualified for veterans benefits.

Clay's position of free speech then goes to the question of does he believe cops are really racially biased. If so then is it why he wants that painting to remain on the hallway wall?

It's interesting how a racist and bigoted painting like that is considered acceptable in today's society and yet many want to change the names of schools to get rid of historic figures such as Jefferson or Washington because they may have owned a slave during a period where slavery was accepted. A good tar and feathering party for the representatives that keep putting the painting back up again after it has been removed, is probably warranted. A vindictive party might hang a Confederate Battle flag by it and see if they feel the same way afterward. I'm sure that the agitating party on the left that continues to hang the offensive painting would say that it is just artistic expression.

There is a 1% of blacks who can make it in our modern civilization, but the vast majority cannot. The "black family" you see portrayed on TV ONLY exists for the 1%. 70+% percent of black babies have no married mother. They don't have families like we do. Only $100K?? There is a reward for $145K leading to the arrest of the killers for the slain DNC data analysis.

It surprises me that the murder of an employee (of a privately owned entity) would garner more reward than a fallen police officer.

Lets look at it:

The Emancipation Proclamation did NOT free the slaves. It freed the SOUTHERN slaves of the Confederate States. There were still plenty of slaves in the north.

In 100 years, the negro COULDN'T make it. "Discrimination", segregation, is because of how they ACT. Nobody on the entire planet wants to be around them. They had 100 years to prove themselves...thay haven't. The Italians did, the Irish, the Chinese, all treated as "slaves" yet as a people rose to become productive, accepted citizens...WHY didn't the blacks? Because they are NOT capable.

I am a supporter of free speech. Often, "ART?" is used as an EXCUSE to offend. If, you BELIEVE that ART should exist on public property PAID FOR WITH TAXPAYER MONEY, is there no place that you would ADMIT it has crossed a line? You suggest that some believe some cops are racially biased. Under, politically correct standards we have removed fairly common artworks showing blacks as stupid etc. FOR ME RULES OF PROPRIETY RULES OF POLITICALLY CORRECT SHOULD AND MUST APPLY TO ALL.

People VOTE and THINK what was fed to them in HISTORY CLASS was or is real. We and frankly the world accepted slavery as normal. If, you wanted to learn a trade-EDUCATION so that you could earn a living-your parents would have an agreement BASED ON HONOR, where you would be an APPRENTICE for 7 years. Essentially you were a SLAVE for 7 years. There was no mention of how many hours you would work, quality of food, where you would sleep etc. Many people came to this country as indentured servants-MANY OF THEM WERE IRISH DUE TO LACK OF FOOD IN IRELAND. You were a SLAVE for 14 years. We dare not mention it but about 10% of the slave owners were BLACK.
In the south 1/3 of the population were black slaves. We probably all have been told the Lincoln Emancipation Proclamation freed the slaves. THINK AND REALIZE-at the time Lincoln gave that speech he was not even the president of the south-JEFFERSON DAVIS was. Lincoln's goal was to start slave uprisings that the south would have needed to take troops out of combat to put down slave revolts-IT DID NOT WORK.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH-that painting should be burned not taken down and rehung. PROBLEM SOLVED.

I think that ANYBODY who murders a cop should be shot on sight by anybody, with NO penalty. Make it "open season". That also should cover ANYBODY who provides any kind of assistance to the murderer.

Putting words into my mouth. It all depends on context.

Going into a police station and yelling "Gun"!, "Shooter", "Bomb", or something like that might get you shot. "Bomb" yelled on an airplane. "80% off" at a sale on Black Friday.

African-Americans, at least some, have their own culture and socially acceptable words and actions. This is strengthened by the media through art, music, films, etc. They do use the "n" word but that is often because they understand its deep pain and suffering with how it has been used in the US. Most white really do not get this empathy. Some try though.

As far as the MF word is concerned that also depends a lot of context. I doubt if you hear that much at Bonefish Grill from people of any color, occupation, or age.

Why the double standard? Why DO they have their "own" culture? Why do THEY get to say words FORBIDDEN to me?

Who are your people? My mother's side of the family has been here in the US since about 1680. We could have African-Americans, Native Americans, and many many other DNA groups running through our blood stream.

Groups of people are fluid with respect to their ethnicity unless labelled by others as "African-American", "Native American" etc. Being black often has more to do with what kind of culture people value rather than what others label them as being.
