Havana CC for dancing!!
Havana CC has started a 2 night a week entertainment and dancing event. We have been going there for a few weeks now and am loving it to death. Dancing is outside but under the protection of the building, so we've managed to stay dry.
Last night, I met Hank Smith, the events manager and mentioned what a good idea to have dancing there. Its been getting busier and busier every week. The band on Tues nights is wild and crazy and the service was great. I hesitated to post this as I don't want it to get too crowded but I think they can handle it. BTW, Hank told me that he reads TOTV all day long and knews a lot about all of us. He also reads all my posts about my dogs and birthday wishes, he actually had a copy of my avatar, scary huh... ! Nice guy and they are on the right track to keep up customer excitement. Come join us, we have a whole table of TOTV folks. Tues and Friday nights around 7pm to at least 10pm. Ohhhhh what fun it is to live in Paradise!!! |
Thanks for sharing Kathie. When we were therein October Havana had not opened yet so we are looking forward to experiencing it. We will make a point to come next Tuesday or Friday. Wait! We can go Tiesday and Friday! What was I thinking? :icon_hungry:

Kathie- Is this the same "Hank" who used to work for Bourbon St a long time ago? He's a handsome young man with a great smile, and a shaved head - a real sweetheart! If so, I'm sure he'll put the Havana on the right track!

That is great! Havana is real close to us in Bonita. It is actually the closest of all the CC's.

Lady, you're a HOOT!!! Best of all I "suspect" we are going to be NEIGHBORS!!! My husband Alan & I built our house on Maverick Way in Hadley Dec. '08. We'll be there early in Aug. - Sept. to see it for the FIRST time!!! Looking forward to it although I'm already overbooked with clubs & visiting relatives. GREAT problems to have!

AG, I'm not a drinker but I think they do. I know they have special meals those nights, and I'm 90% sure, they have drink specials.

Havana CC UPDATE
Last night at Havana CC, we listened to some lovely Calypso music and danced to Latin rhythms. Haven't done the merengue for a long time. Not many people were there though but the general manager came over to visit and told me that very shortly they will be having music every single night. Isn't that cool? They will be making major renovations to the dance floor and will have a water mister to cool us off while we're dancing and will have more fans overhead. I'd say this CC is really doing an outstanding job of listening to the customers. During snowbird season, they may stay open until midnight.
This gives us another place other than the squares to dance in the evening. Horray for Havana Management!!!!!!:bowdown: |
Can you tell me if the dancing still going on at Havana CC, and if it is now every night? Our house is close to Havana, we love to dance, and we are coming down in September. I hope the dancing is going on, sounds like heaven! It would be a great alternative for LSL.

I heard last week from the rumor mill that Havana is closing because they don't have enough business. Hope it is just a rumor.

I think they should wait a bit longer as there are a lot of houses being closed on in that area between now and middle of November. Also some people who left for July & August will be coming back. I'm sure they will be doing a little more buisness.

I think that Havana will be the place to go soon. We must all tell our friends and neighbors to support them. They have a great happy hour and the menu is coming along. We had lunch there last Thursday and they started a sandwich special. It was great. I hope that the rumor is untrue, because more folks are moving in each day. It Will survive if given a chance.

I think they're doing fine and as all eateries will pick up as soon as the snowbirds arrive. And yes my $13.95 prime rib (8 oz) was good. |

Used to be we all met at the Square but now Havana is the "go to" place to meet TOTV'rs. We start with one table then add tables as more arrive. I think the record so far is 7 tables. If you looking to dance and meet us all look for Kathie and you will find us there. Walk up and introduce yourselves and you immediately become one of the group. My favorite night is Tuesday when "Pat" has the full band. I'm leaving the 19th to go get my favorite dancing partner, Mrs. Handie and "Da Dog" and a whole lotta stuff I have no clue where to store it. See Ya before Labor Day. Tonight is karaoke night at Havana, lots of dancing and fun. Usually we have a gang of totv'ers there, so come join us. :beer3:
Patrick (sigh! :sigh:) is the DJ and does a little singing as well (double sigh :sigh::sigh: ). Last week we had a great time.... Coming soon to Havana and more info to follow.... Patrick will have a country music night with some of his fellow musicians. More information to follow, I'll get the correct info from Don (the GM) and will post it. As I've said before, this is one place where they are listening to the customers... |

Great group at Havana tonight. Met newbies, Bob (Ripwho) and Gene and Kathy (adorable couple) and Kittylecrox with her hubs too along with the gang of regulars....
Havana made an announcement tonight, Sunday night at 5pm, I believe, will be a down and dirty, true to the 'nth degree, HOEDOWN....!!! WAAAA HOOOOO!! I'm gonna try to make it and will see if I can gather some troops to just see what its like. I have no idea what a Hoedown is -- we didn't have them in the bronx... We did have something similar, however, OOPS!!!! |
