RIP Michael Jackson & Farrah Fawcett
Its been formally announced that Michael Jackson just passed away of cardiac arrest. Also today, we lost Farrah Fawcett.
Sad day for some young stars! |
Very sad indeed. RIP.
|
Seems they come in three's. Ed Mc Mahon being the first one.
|
Well, in this case 4's. David Carradine a few weeks ago.
|
Kathie. You beat the major networks in breaking this news.
He was at one time a brilliant entertainer but in later years he seemed a man possessed of demons. He has left three children with no parent since their mother relinquished custody which I could never understand.. He had personality issues to be sure and I for one did believe that he was a pedophile,I just couldn't fathom any other reason for his strange behavior. Still many believed him innocent and he will be mourned all around the world and his music will be his great legacy. I hope that he will rest in peace. |
That damn Grim Reaper
The world just said goodbye to the performer of the greatest selling rock album in history. He was a troubled genius who had the good fortune to team with Quincy Jones and create music that was phenomenal. For a moment the world will be distracted from all the stuff that normally fills the news. 92.9 is playing his music.

Keedy, your right, in the OLDEN days, we used to say, that and a dime will get you on the subway... meaning, it was meaningless....LOL. |
Hey Kathie.. Only kidding of course...You should see some of the rowdy places I hang out some times...LOL. Oh, OH here comes wifey...gotta clear this page...LOL

TMZ.com (per Google - never been there myself)
Celebrity News, etc |
Yes, Michael was alittle strange to say the least, but I did like his music. "Billie Jean" was my favorite.
As for Farrah, what a brave woman to fight cancer with her all until the end. What a beauty she was. |
Sorry to say but it looks like he was yet another public figure that abused prescription drugs. Apparently he took drug for pain relief. I'm only speculating but he was hard at work with dance routines for his upcoming tour. Seem like all the greats of rock have succumbed to such a fate, Elvis, Jimi Hendricks, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Ricky Nelson etc. RIP
|
I agree Keedy. Sad but true.
Seems like it to me too Keedy...even going back to Judy Garland and her daughter too. (Liza Minnelli.) Fame and fortune seems to come at a great personal price. Most people could never perform like they did even if we had the talent.
|
Seems you guys are more right than you realize. Here's another breaking story from TMZ, it seems it was Morphine or Demerol. These poor kids, when will they wise up. Sorry, Keddy, giving you another dumb link from TMZ.

I find it interesting that a person who paid off to quelch several pedephile complaints against him, and who the LA DA said was a serial pedephile is suddenly an honored american icon. How money and fame erases one's evils.

Makes you wonder, huh? Why did congress have a 30 second moment of silence for this guy?
|
Rest in Peace.
Know matter what you think of Michael Jackson's personal life... his talent cannot be denied. He changed the face of music and brought great joy to millions and millions of people. That, in itself, should be respected. My prayers are with his family and friends.

Around our house for the past two days it has been solid Michael Jackson on the TV - haven't seen anything like it since Kennedy was killed and every channel on TV (about 4!) had news on Kennedy for about 5 days until after his burial.
Maybe Michael will have a state funeral complete with the riderless horse. |

It was a very sad day to also learn Farrah Fawsett lost her courageous battle with cancer. I watched the documentary she did last night, its amazing all she went thru. Prayers to both the family and friends. |
Woodworking is my favorite hobby and I spent some time on a couple of woodworking sites this morning. One forum had a couple of threads about the recent passing of Mr. Jackson. Most woodworkers are very thoughtful and logical. It was very weird to read the posts today because I have never seen the emotional side of these guys like I seen today.
I will not get into specifics but obviously there were two sides and I read them all, twice. Sometimes it is easy to not look at the seamy side of people's personalities...but society the way it is today...seems like nobody likes to keep things personal anymore. There is this need for the public to know what these high profile people are doing in their private lives. They make their life public so as to not be forgotten and to sell their products. We read about them and then buy tickets to their shows or albums. Some times we wonder if the bizarre behavior is just an act for more publicity or are they really that weird. Anyways, one of the woodworkers posted these links with actual transcripts from a grand jury. Ladies and gentlemen these are real documents and not something a publicist has dreamed up. There were search warrants ordered from a judge for Mr. Jackson's home in "Neverland" . The things confiscated from his house, especially his bedroom and private bathroom were...well..I won't go there. The testimony from the boys were very thorough and disturbing. These things have been available to the public for awhile. I only read about 100 pages of this testimony to see if it was done professionally and to see something in writing that wasn't fabricated by people being paid to be impartial. I just thought I would see both sides of this so I could get my own perspective and not be influenced by the media or someone with an agenda. Anyways, I haven't had my television on today and my radio is tuned to a gardening show (another hobby). I don't know where I'm going with this exactly but I just thought I would do some investigating on my own. I am not going to bore you with my opinion of this morning's research, but I feel that my perspective on this subject is more broad and I think I'm going to put it to rest. So, good bye Michael, Farrah , Ed........ RIP |
Can you provide a link to the transcripts. I'd like to read them. Like many I was on the fence about his guilt because of lack of knowledge on my part.
But as many have mentioned - it doesn't take away from his influence on music and pop culture. Thanks. |
