Trump's speech last night.

Wow!! Going on 10 AM and it is conspicuous in it's absence!

Trump did an excellent job in his presentation and demeanor.

For those who missed it:

Trump gives his hard-line campaign promises a more moderate tone in address to Congress - The Washington Post

I was amused when one of the reporters at the end said the democrats did not linger after the speech because they wanted to get to the reporters to be sure and get the right democratic (resitance/my comment) spin on the speech.

Nobody expects any positive commentary from the resistance party as demonstrated by their mascot here:

Meet the new boss...same as the old boss...of COURSE he's moderated...he's working FOR the "system" now.

He gave an excellent speech and I was pleasantly surprised and happy.

Now, when the "rubber meet the road" is what will count.

As with any of these kind of speeches, they are full of inaccuracies and self congratulatory, BUT most importantly it was not given with a tone that creates such hateful comments and for that I am hoping it was an indication that FINALLY the campaign is over.

Looking forward to real proposals and real discussions. \

I especially am interested in the spending bills.

PS....the media said the same thing about Republicans for years and they referred to them in the same way. Time we ditch labels and now look at actual legislation instead of what party did what

This is why I watch the political addresses on C-Span. There is no media putting their vast "knowledge" (bias) on everything.

The idiot giving the Democrat Response obviously had his "response" written before the speech. DUH

As usual, the left led by their clueless leader, classless Nancy, dressed in her white remnants of the KKK outfits, remained seated throughout. There were few and far between of those who did not. Even Tim Kaine stood and applauded at many of the statements. There may have been others, but the majority did not. Agree with President Trump or not, show respect for a grieving widow's feelings.

If they can't pat themselves on the back for something, it means nothing! They even ignored the poor girl who life was spared by a new discovery in medicine and is now a sophomore at Notre Dame.

Pathetic! And they wonder why Trump is now our President.

That idea is totally delusional.

Amazing! He has been criticized endlessly for "not being Presidential", the when he is TOTALLY Presidential, he becomes part of the "swamp".

This man is nothing like "the old boss", thank goodness.

Just for your information, the reply is made based on the actual contents of the speech which they receive before the address.

They did not write the rebuttal in a vacuum.

I never comment on these things...the State of the Union and any rebuttal is all politics..nothing but...always has been and always seems like it will.

Dems really had to dig deep in the barrel to pull out the EX governor of Kentucky...he claimed Obammacare was a success for Kentucky.

The CURRENT governor says it is a disaster and half of the counties only have one provider. Kentucky was carried by Trump...I believe the Kentucky voters have already made up their minds on Obammacare.

It's not delusional...thinking some guy who the people elect has the power over everything in one fell swoop...is delusional.

He's always BEEN part of the swamp...you were just fooled into believing he wasn't.

Where it counts...yes he is. He'll borrow and spend...just like all the rest.

Looking pretty damn presidential !! You have to love his positive attitude and the US first tone in his message. Let the idiotic Democrats keep whining while he continues to fix all that is wrong with this country. Each day that passes in his presidency amplifies just what a lame piece of **** occupied the WH for the last 8 years.

Pelosi is leading her party down the road to perdition. Americans are going to begin to view the negative response from the media and from progressive collects in the same manner they do "trolls" on blogs. after a while he just gets tiresome and idiotic.

Trump did what politicians have been doing forever. Promise a whole lot of something for nothing. He has this Villages forum swooning. If he would have announced his spending plan and paided for it the market would have tanked today and everyone should have said his speech was garbage, go figure.

ColdNoMore 03-01-2017 10:08 PM

Trump finally gives a speech someone else wrote, by reading word for word from his teleprompter, that doesn't show what a buffoon he is...and his cultists are awed?

He had a very good speechwriter. I looks likes his daughter Ivanka Trump might have contributed. She seems like a caring, sensitive and intelligent woman.

Amazing! All the hand-wringing about him needing to calm down and be more "Presidential" and then when he does, that's bad. They bit** about the theatrics and then when they don't get it anymore, boo hoo hoo. Some people are going to be against him no matter what he does.

How many Presidents can you factually name that wrote their own speeches? ZERO! They always have writers.

This man talks straight to the people. Unlike Obama, not down to them like the mindless followers he hoped they were.

With the ones the President chose to honor last night, it should be apparent to anyone that he is neither racist nor against women. He also honored the handicapped woman who was not supposed to have survived, but because of research, she did. Sounds like some did not even listen, but instead made up their minds ahead of time like the KY ex-governor, and are just saying what the pundits told them he said in his speech.

My ex was an electronics man. When he would be called at the plant to come and fix a piece of equipment, the first thing he would be asked was how long it would take to fix it. He would tell them probably 20, 30 minutes, maybe an hour. They would be all excited and want him to get it back in operation right then. He would simply say, "That's how long it will take to fix it. It might take me several days to isolate the problem. I know what I think it is, but I can't just go in there and start doing something hoping that's it." That's how it is with electronic equipment on the fritz intermittently.

Our problems were not created in a day and won't be solved/fixed in a day. Day one was the starting point, not the final solution.

Trump will quickly break the shackles of whomever currently has him under temporary control and will revert back to the narcissistic, lying buffoon that he is...very soon.

You can bank on it.

Come on...Obama was known as the "Teleprompter in chief". He can't say anything cognizant without a teleprompter.

You have been "rubbing one out" looking at pictures of Ivanka again...

I assume you told her how sensitive / caring she looks, thru messaging on facebook, and asked her to move in with you ...and the "P"s?
