Everyone OK?

That was a pretty intense storm that went through this morning. Here in Poinciana it lasted about 1 hr. Lost Comcast TV for about 5 minutes, although I think that was actually the system rebooting. Comcast internet not affected. Electricity OK. One palm frond down.

Everyone else OK?

Country Club Hills present and accounted for. There is a high price tag on the beautiful weather we experience most of the time. These storms are amazing.

MikeV 04-06-2017 05:54 AM

What a great storm. Rolling thunder and light show was amazing.

The ducks were having a good time swimming on the fairways of Evans Prairie, but the water is already receding.

Taltarzac725 04-06-2017 06:45 AM

Had to comfort Beau through all of it. Other than that everything seems OK in Lynnhaven.

janewk 04-06-2017 07:07 AM

Mira Mesa & Chula Vista seem to have survived also.

Pmount 04-06-2017 08:21 AM

2.5" rain the first storm and 1" this morning Village of Charlotte

leftyf 04-06-2017 08:29 AM

I didn't even know it rained until I took the dog out this morning. I was really surprised when I looked at the rain gage, 1 1/2".

Your pooch must handle storms well? Mine was frantic. I had to hold him, talk to him and pet him constantly to calm him down. Just an 11 pound chihuahua/terrier.

My Aunt up in Cape Cod used to have a St. Bernard that would also sometimes require the same kind of treatment.

Bonny 04-06-2017 08:37 AM

About 4:15 this morning that thunder was intense. Woke us up. All is good.

Beau needed tending from about that time until about 5:15 AM.

Have any lobster to go along with it? I think I saw some floating by last night. :)

ajbrown 04-06-2017 09:14 AM

Here in Mallory, I thought the Tuesday thunder was more intense. Some really close ones ... lightening sizzle BOOM with no separation. All is good though

PS. Tal, you seems to be a good man, but all the things you did for your dog are just the opposite of what he/she needs...

It is a hard issue, but lots of help online...

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...oPYvfcmsjFZwFQ

and many many more... the issue needs to be worked on when there is not a storm, not easy, lots of practice, but fun IMO

He is quite spoiled but keeps my father's blood pressure as well as mine down. He works as a great therapy dog in that way.

And with some of the storms he seems OK.

Just a really good friend. Not sure if she likes lobster. She gave Beau some cookies for Christmas. She has a lot of pets.

jchase 04-06-2017 09:29 AM

My rain gauge said 1 1/2 inches in Buttonwood. I thought we got more?

Some of it was going a little sideways in Lynnhaven. Maybe, the gauge missed some of this?

Bjeanj 04-06-2017 09:54 AM

Santiago got 2-1/2" on Tuesday and 2" last night. Cart path on golf course under water this morning. Probably need another 10" to fill some of the ponds. Some palm fronds down but that's it.

It looked like the golf cart path to the Promise Hospital near the 6th Hole of Belmont was under water Tuesday as a good deal of the cow pies and other stuff had floated over to it from the lower level of the cow pasture there.

Probably more cow pies there now.

We used to have a Lab Setter mix. She would run in the bathtub. I would always have to hold her until it was well over.

redwitch 04-06-2017 10:44 AM

Cat took the high ground (top of bookcase in one fell swoop) at the booming thunder around 4:30 am. Other one slept right through it beside me. That was the extent of the excitement here in Hemingway.

2BNTV 04-06-2017 01:34 PM

That was a good drenching the last two storms as the retention pond on El Camino was bone dry. Went riding past the pond today and it looked half full.

Heard the thunder this morning at 4 AM but it didn't faze me too much as I rolled over and went back to sleep.

pooh 04-06-2017 01:57 PM

The thunder woke me shortly after 4 this AM. LIghtning was intense. Looked like someone had a strobe light on outside our bedroom windows. Got up to check the weather on tv. Cable shut off, internet lost. Modem needed to be reset and now have two cable boxes that went belly up and one of those HD DTA boxes, too, has given up the ghost. Couple of circuit breakers tripped. Tv on the lanai has also gone to the dark side. Not sure where the heck there was a strike, but there was a loud pop outside before all went haywire. Wasn't loud enough for a direct lightning strike, have had one close by years ago....they are deafening! Comcast will be out to check the boxes and the DTA., but it seems replacement is needed. Main DVR and one other box are okay.

Your rite GE but it's not me that's afraid of or ascared (2 year old granddaughter) it's a tie between Barney our Boxer and Mrs Nucky losing it because Barney is freaking out. He is a 96 lb old man who is the nicest dog but any loud :boom: noise sends him into orbit. The medication route for him seems to be animal cruelty in my opinion, it's sad to see him upset but we lived through it together. I'm surprised he isn't bald from getting petted so much during the storm.

jebartle 04-06-2017 02:41 PM

everything ok?

I know the golf courses are just a smiling, ponds are getting back to normal and my fur ball is relieved!

On of our dogs was tied outside in Hattiesburg, ms during Katrina. We got her a couple of month's later. Needless to say Katrina has quite the dose of ptsd
