I Can't Remember Being This Heated
I'm ****ed off. What the **** is this world coming to. First people don't stand to salute the flag then the one and only TV personality that I have followed since I can remember gets snagged for political correctness reasons from his spineless employer. Listen, everyone has rites, that includes me. I hope Mr. Bill O'Reilly sues everyone who is involved balls off. He is an old school dude who preaches many good thing and I can't imagine him being a wolf in sheep's clothing. And if you disagree with me kiss my ass cause I don't give a hoot about your opinion on this unless you align with me. So stuff it.

I think that someone looked on the wealthy Mr. O Reilly as an opportunity to make some dough. He is single, widowed now for several years. He is allowed to make overtures toward women. There is more to this than we know. My money's on Bill. This is Grace Gantner. Love to you and your wife. |

Otherwise, you are condoning sexual harassment in the workplace. I don't know, but seems guys who have women report them to the personnel department after asking them to stop and need to resort to suing...well, let's say.....i cannot condone that kind of actions anywhere I ever worked. I assume you know that the last two women are Not asking for money. Why do you feel he is innocent ? Based on what ? I assume you feel this is another "progressive" plot. The condemnation of people on here with zero facts is staggering, but hey one of the woman was black. |
Quote:
How do you know he isn't innocent? Based on what? What happened to innocent until proven guilty? And the last 2 women aren't asking for money YET. I don't condone harassment either. I'm with Nucky and Gracie on this one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |
I think it would be best to take a look that they whole picture here. This is NOT the 1st time this has come up with Mr. O'Reilly. Why would Fox kill the number 1 rated show on the basis of 1 woman's account. They would would not!
Do some research on this one! |

I only know what you know.....at least..maybe you know more... He and Fox settled FIVE...FIVE charges over FIFTEEN YEARS...15 MILLION DOLLARS THEY PAID in exchange and this is their words....FOX...for the women's silence. The sixth would not settle nor shut up it seems, and then this week the SEVENTH WOMAN came forward. In 2004 he was all over the New York papers in yet another sexual harrassment charge. He also but unrelated has had a time with inconsistencies with his resume. So, no....I do not know whether he is guilty but you add it up...what company allows and will pay out 15 million dollars to silence the accuser, and then has two more come forward, with a incident 13 year ago also looming. Would you still have your job? |
With as many lawsuits, for as much money, as have been settled regarding his behavior...I'm surprised he wasn't fired before now.
I guess Faux News figured that as long as he was making them money, it was worth looking the other way and swallowing any pretense at integrity that they might try to portray. Once the advertisers had enough...now all of a sudden so has Faux News? NOT a coincidence. |

1. Do you believe a business like Fox, has the right to determine who they put on the air? 2. Do you believe advertisers have the right to spend their money...in the manner they see fit? 3. Do you think those same advertisers (who gladly spent money previously, in spite of O'Really's controversial politics) would run away...if they weren't convinced that something was very wrong? Keep in mind, we're not talking about criminal charges or legal ramifications...just simple business decisions. This, in a nutshell...is capitalism at work. Are you really against a company...being able to make these kinds of business decisions? Especially since YOU have the right to show your disagreement...by not watching Fox. Pretty simple really. |

As a former executive myself (and I bet you'll agree, even if not publicly), in the past people like O'Really were typically always protected...and their victims were attacked as somehow provoking/causing it. Thank goodness most decent folks have gotten past blaming the victim and just looking the other way...when it comes to sexual harassment/assault (and touching IS assault). Not to say that there aren't times, that for whatever reason, someone levels charges that are untrue. HOWEVER, this is far rarer than a dominant company male...being able to get away with pretty much anything they wanted. We all have mothers, a lot of us have daughters or wives and predators like O'Really...should not be able to get away with what it appears he has done. How can anyone, regardless of how much you like his show...defend him? :ohdear: |

I'm guessing you are taking the same position...over Roger Ailes? Fox News Fires Bill O’Reilly Amid Sexual Harassment Storm [Video] Quote:

Many years ago a neighbors daughter accused her father, her brother in law, and her sisters father in law of sexual abuse.
Then she accused a teacher. He lost his job. I believed then, and I believe now that none of those men sexually abused her. I still know the family and thirty five years have passed. I think that some woman accuse men of sexual harassment and lie to get attention or money. I don't think it happens a lot, but I think that sometimes women pile on. |

The courts will decide! We can kick this can down the road, really doesn't matter what any of us think, ONLY Bill O'Reilly KNOWS and the accusers!

I explained to my wife early on that something was amiss with O'Reilly. On the air he seemed to be too dismissive of women. I explained if that was the way he treated women in front of millions of people then God what was the guy like behind the scenes. a part of my job was to look into claims of sexual harassment. So as to the allegations against O'Reilly my experiences with those outcomes is "one should not judge". It could be the allegations are factual. It could be the accusers were over-sensitive. keep in mind what a guy views as flirting a radical feminist would view as a sexual attack. I am not arguing either way because that is the subject for another thread. As to his firing it simply could be that Fox had enough of the distraction given Ailes, Megan Kelly, etc. My personal view is O'Reilly was very dismissive of women and that alone would have gotten him in trouble, that and he had far too high an ego both of which caused me not to view his show. Personal Best Regards: |

You will never fvcking get it...will you? I "respect" women, by treating them EQUAL...which is the ultimate respect. YOU on the other hand, want special treatment even when you act...so nasty, passive-aggressive, two-faced and hypocritical. :ohdear: Sorry to treat you equally...but you're gonna have to live with it:. :D Anything less, is tantamount to you agreeing with Racist Boy Baldwin...that as a female you're NOT equal. And of course, I'm talking about as a human being...not based on physical strength. Deepest Sincere Wishes:. |

There was enough 'proof' unearthed by the law firm of Fox, for Fox to let their #1 cash cow go...how much more proof will it take to change your mind, if any? |

It'll be nice to actually HAVE equal treatment and NOT be the VICTIM of discrimination as WE are unjustly passed over because there are quotas. UNTIL you allow the standards to go BACK to where they were...until you eliminate ALL affirmative action...ALL quotas...ALL you do is PROVE you are NOT equal. So...you're talking exclusively about WHITE women? You specifically mentioned "human being"...and them being a different species...wouldn't qualify. BTW...STRENGTH has EVERYTHING to do with it. There are a myriad of things a woman just CAN'T do because of the strength issues. Women aren't ironworkers, steelworkers, pipefitters, don't do much heavy construction at all...because they're physically too weak to do it. Therefore they are/were incapable of creating the modern technological world/civilization we live in. It's a mans world...because WE built it. |

Another question:
Would you want your daughters or sisters to work with O'Reilly? I've got daughters. "Boys will be boys" and "locker room talk" are inappropriate and don't get laughed off in the modern world, thank goodness. I'm glad the advertisers and FOX have the morality to get rid of him. |
Quote:
Morality had nothing to do with FOX dismissing O'Reilly. Money did. FOX was losing advertisers due to the innuendos and accusations. They couldn't afford to keep paying him if the money was not coming in. And yet, you are a supporter of Hillary Clinton, the wife and defender of Slick Willie's continuing perversion and sexual exploits. Some folks would consider that to be hypocritical. |
There is no doubt that there are minds that are way bigger than mine who have given much thought to such issues like the ones O'Reilley is accused of. Roger Ailes, I was aware he was accused of wrongdoing but didn't care. I'm a very simple guy, easy amused, easy entertained and trying to not be the hot head I have been most of my work life.
I like Archie Bunker, The Munsters, The O'reilly Factor in that order. I'm expected to watch various commercials like RuPaul and men kissing men on Million Dollar Listing and stay quiet but the show that I enjoy the most with Bill O'Reilly loses Bill because of a Chocolate remark? I'm pretty sure he must have done something wrong if that many women put cases on him but don't you think her deserves another chance? If I'm correct it was word's which I know can be as hurtful as action's but enlighten me did he actually put the wood to someone and the story was buried for money? If he is guilty I wouldn't protect him. I am open minded. Were all the other accusers women? How much is really known about the previous cases? If you know give the facts and supporting web sites not your personal SPIN. I don't come to this forum often but if words being used heavily in the direction of women is a punishable offense then shame on some of our brother posters. I think it's a basic lack of respect for each other that is entwined throughout our society. It is a culture of to hell with everyone and hooray for me. I shouldn't have posted yesterday until I calmed down. It is what it is. Sean Hannity is next....Oh Baby somebody is coming for him. |
Quote:
ONE persons opinion "I think you have to look at somebody like Sean Hannity," Peters said, "and question whether or not his almost propaganda-like attitude and programming every night is going to be acceptable in the minds of the family which is clearly trying to shift the network in another direction." New York Times reporter: Sean Hannity could get caught up in Fox's house cleaning |
I wonder why David Letterman was drummed off the air.
Oh, I forgot, he's a liberal and as such, he's exempt. |
Wowser!! The entrance on THIS thread of several men I KNOW and respect certainly calms down some of the bad boys.
Some of you frequent posters also posted some wonderful stuff. (Women are equal...and I did like the addition of Dummy to that phrase) I never felt that issue of women being equal ever had to be discussed in my lifetime. I always felt that I could do whatever it was that I set out to do and the same for my daughters and granddaughters, and we all have. I believe that women and men are equal but not alike. Men are stronger and smarter sometimes in some areas, women aren't usually as physically big or as strong but we are very intuitive and read non verbal signs about the universe that help us protect our young and the species. We also fight dirty more frequently. Women who are not ethical are to be feared because they have ways of getting what they want in slimy and subversive ways...I would say that is one of their worst qualities sometimes, just like strength used against women is not fair. That is why rules and laws have been made. However cunning women circumvent many laws of the land. Well now that I have trashed my sisters, I want to applaud my brothers. So glad to see Dr. Boogie, DBussone, Nucky, Just Jim here along with other valuable souls, who I admire. MDNLB...you nail it just about every time... JBoyer...I think you run a business and have an academic background which usually is someone I like.BUT.... I really don't like much of what you post. I think this thread is the best one on this Forum for a long time. I love sincerity and honor and all of the other good qualities about gentle and kind and strong and successful men. |

SO...since his wife also charged him with abuse in divorce, you then support that kind of behavior. ? He also denied that but she got custody and the charge still stands. How anyone can stand up for a man who is not once doing it but over many years with many women. And, on here, we praise and we condemn based on our love for Trump....THAT just plain is scary. I will condemn Trump for his morals, but when his policy is on, I say it. You folks have completely gone to the "other side" and simply each issue, do what Trump's biographers said he does.....create your OWN reality and it does not even have to be related to the real thing. |
If you owned a business and the #1 money maker in that business was accused of something wrong and the person who did the accusing took $$$$ money $$$$ instead of justice over the thing that Bill did to her then accept that forever. That case is done. If what he did was so bad why was it settled with $$$$ MONEY $$$$. If it was my Daughter in Law or Granddaughter no amount of money could soothe an actual sexual romp. If it was only words then he was wrong but to fire him was also wrong based on the FACTS supplied so far. I learned that from Bill O'Reilly. He's just an Old School Guy I Think. We Shall See!

What makes you so definite that a person that supports the president, also "loves" the president? Personally, I do not like the man but I do support his ideas. I might like the man IF I was to meet him. I might have liked Obama if I had met him but I would NEVER support his ideology. I believe that Obama was dangerous for America. I believe that Trump has redeeming values in regards to where he wants to take this country. And so far, Trump has done an excellent job in the short time he has been in office. He must be doing very well considering the only attacks that the left can throw at him are based on his personality, speech, texting, golf, his family, and his appearance. (by the way, he wears very expensive and stylish suits) Trump has some of the best advisors most could imagine. It does not appear that most of his appointments are past friends or political cronies. It appears that he is choosing successful experts to assist him. Sure, he may have an acquaintance or two in the mix, but his choices have been pretty good. His choice of military leadership is has shown to be great choices. So, if you think that just because I support the president, that I "love" him, you are nothing more than a liberal simpleton. The people have made a good choice, regardless of his perceived personality flaws. |

I have no more information than anyone, but the sheer NUMBER of cases, AND from what I have read instilled an environment that was becoming terrible. Ailes was let go, many others left with one constant theme. I might add, that you have never heard the stories of those who got money because of the NDAs, so we hear ONLY OReilly's EXECPT the last two public accusers have stepped up, and I heard Kirsten Powers speak out. If this was one person, or even two, but so many over a long period of time is alarming. I do not think there was any physical things, although until we might hear from the accusers we may never know. To your analogy...if my daughter was subject to that kind of talk and action, and she did the right hang and went to HR, and they simply told her..."you know Bill"....or there is nothing we can do, and it continued.....which I understand it did, she would be gone, and how many have left there in the last year ? I certainly would have recommended to see HR, and the next time, I might be looking at OReilly face to face. I cannot accept that any corporation on this planet would allow their female employees to be treated like that, ESPECIALLY after they had complained. |
O'Reilly was fired by the Murdochs who own Fox News (after an extensive investigation). The fat lady has sung.
