A sad day for liberal politicians. Liberals would prefer that the the murderer have his way and kill everyone there and his life be spared. That way the murderer could receive tax payer assistance and counciling to help him have a better life, plus he could sue the estates of all those he murdered. Plenty of political judges would be supportive of him. But now, liberal politicians just lost a potential vote. Now how sad is that? Only criminals should have guns. Some liberals are more concerned with making information available to the victims and survivors of crimes (so that the victims can deal with the trauma and aftermath of being victimized), than they are in supporting lengthy periods of incarceration for those that commit the crime.

The second amendment is NOT about hunting. Although, hunting with a weapon is protected by the second amendment.

Automatic weapons are illegal unless a special federal license is obtained. If you know of any murders perpetrated by automatic weapons, then they were illegally obtained. Limiting the amount of ammo in a magazine hardly makes a difference in murder. Mass shootings are an exception and not a norm, so making laws that hinder gun ownership is not much difference than attempting to change the laws to the weight and material of an auto that might be used in a mass murder by auto.
There are millions of guns in America. There will always be a few crazies living among over 300 million in our population.
We have common sense gun laws. Dealers are required to submit a background check. Training is required in most states before issuing a concealed carry permit. No guns in bars, gov buildings and public schools, etc. All they have to do is enforce the existing laws.

Just like immigration laws. You can have all the protection of the laws on paper you want, but if you don't enforce them, then the people become victims.

Automatic weapons are banned in this country unless you obtain an extremely difficult to get and expensive permit. Even then the restrictions place on them are huge. I don't know of any mass shooting where automatic weapons have been used.

As far a limiting magazine capacity, first of all, I feel that I should be able to have the same number of rounds as the criminals. and since they are not going to obey the law, how can I be sure that we are on equal footing if you limit my capacity? All that would happen by limiting magazine capacity is that, even if they obeyed the law, anyone intent on doing a mass shooting, would have to do would be carry multiple magazines which take a second or so to change out. Or multiple weapons can easily be concealed and carried. A person with a pair of cargo shorts could easily carry ten handguns, each with a capacity of 15 rounds and at least ten additional magazines.

So explain to me how limiting the number of rounds a law abiding gun owner with a permit is going to help anything?

And what does deer hunting have to do with anything? The intent of the 2nd amendment is that we are able to defend ourselves. All gun laws do is to take away or limit the ability of law abiding citizens to do just that. Criminals don't obey the laws. I do, even when it puts me at a disadvantage.

That weapon was NOT considered an "assault rifle." An assault rifle is one that shoots automatically, by producing multiple shots per one single finger squeeze of the trigger. If the rifle is not bolt action or lever action, it will most likely be semiautomatic. Even shotguns are semiautomatic. Any weapon that provides multiple shots per trigger squeeze is owned legally ONLY if a special Federal permit is obtained. Yes, some drug gangs in the cities own ILLEGALLY obtained automatic weapons. Key word "illegal."

The Savage MKii magazine is only 10 rounds. She was most likely dead with the first round and he just put 3 more in her due to emotional "over kill". Another thing to consider; there are many areas in the country that already restrict the magazine size, I challenge you to prove those places are any safer than places that do not have the limit (Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, DC).

There are still problems with restrictions as mentally ill people still get guns, for example, the wack job that shot up the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood and killed 3 which is about 1.5 miles from my house out there. He is NUTS and he had gun. After an investigation the gun he had was NOT legally obtained. Did he get it from a gun show?

I was threatened by a white male with a gun!

Colorado is an open carry state now and shortly after that a women in Colorado Springs called 911 to report a man walking around carrying a gun. The 911 operator told her that was legal now. A few minutes later 4 people were dead including the shooter.

A couple of days later a man walked into Planned Parenthood shot the place up leaving 3 dead including a police officer!

I know many of us are worried about the number of shooting deaths in the United States. I am worried about the amount of gun violence against women! Here in The Villages we had a Murder Suicide by a Husband against his wife.

We have a right to be worried given the amount of gun violence.
