I am on Facebook and would welcome your friendship because it is interesting to talk and even debate without having to guess who you are and to have posts deleted.

The political forum here is fraught with locker room scenarios and degrading talk and I don't like it.

I don't debate much on Facebook, but I like to know who I am talking to. I also have friends on both sides of the aisle and of course family members who aren't in agreement with some of my political views.

So please be my friend on Facebook if you would like to..

Well since I have been called some very ugly names, and lectured as someone that does not deserve respect, etc because of my political views, I would agree with you on the "locker room scenarios and degrading talk"

I always hoped that those folks who did that would be lectured but alas, I am obviously one of the bad guys and they continue unabated.

Message sent Gracie Girl. I too get sick of all the juvenile name calling on the Political Forum but it is a way to reach people. I have about ten people on the Ignore List but do look at what they post from time-to-time and it remains at a 13 year old level of maturity and intelligence most of the time. And they often look drunk to boot.

Gracie, I accessed your Facebook page and found no "Add Friend" box for making a Friend Request. The Facebook help page said this can happen depending upon your privacy settings.

I will send you a Message through facebook with my information to see if you can generate a Friend Request on my page.

I just added two friends this morning from TOTV. I will go check my settings.

I changed it. It required any new friends must be friends with an established friend.

Still a little worried about whom you have a friends, graciegirl. I do a lot of very important work on my Facebook and some of this involves victim/witness groups. So, I need to be rather careful about who gets on my Facebook page. Really like your input on TOTV.

Based upon your information in this post, it took me about ten seconds to find your true identity on Facebook. (Of course, as I like to say, I was once a detective.) :wave:

However, I would not try to influence your decision about whether or not to Friend Grace on Facebook. She has a large following, but fewer than your 556 Friends. Only you can make that decision.

This is very delightful for me. I like to be real with people. Maybe we can have a get together.

The monthly ToTV meeting works well for meeting friends on this site, I have met several people at these meetings.

Not ever to take away from TOTV meetings. They are special.

Totally agree with you.

I have had several get togethers in our home in the past for folks from TOTV and enjoyed them very much.

I am so glad that five of you have answered my friend requests and now I am in a pickle because I have friends who I am not sure what their TOTV screen name is.

It is so confusing to have several names in this world. I can't remember where I laid my glasses on most days.

Please be patient.

I felt a lot more comfortable when Carl from Tampa chimed in. He seems like a good and intelligent man. I have talked to Criminal Intelligence detectives about my work. But these were at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office around September and October of 2002. And a little later. And I was more interested in other stuff especially about a really pernicious troll I had on Findlaw. That man kept it up until after I moved to the Villages in 2005 and finally quit pestering me around 2006. Thankfully there seem to be more options available now with cyber harassers and stalkers. I tried to get my US Representative from Palm Harbor, FL involved as well with improving the laws for survivors/victims of cyber stalking and harassment. State politicians too for addressing this problem of online bullying.

Intent may have been innocent, but, a thread like this should have been handled via personal messages (PM) rather than an open forum thread.
