What would you do?
I was walking behind a couple in Brownwood when they stopped the pick the yellow flowers in front of Riccardo's restaurant. It disturbed me but said nothing. Should I have been disturbed? Should I have said something? What would you do?
|
Ignore it...you aren't the flower police.

I would have said something along the lines of... "I realize you may not have thought about it, but if everyone that had walked by these flowers before you had picked a few, there wouldn't have been any left for you to pick...much less for the rest of us to admire" |
Flower Police?

:agree: Not your property. Not your fight. There is always the possibility of initiating a confrontation with a mentally disturbed individual who may become combative, and who might be carrying a deadly weapon. That is the same reason that it is unwise to exchange offensive gestures with bad drivers. Chill out and enjoy your retirement. |

You can always take a picture of it on your cell phone of the offenders and sent it to the cops. |
medical pot, flowers??? They were most likely products of the 60's remembering their youths. Did they seem to be very peaceful?
|
Perhaps they're master gardeners and were only helping out by deadheading the plants prematurely :ho:

I agree with Carl.
What is or is not our business is mostly dictated by how and sometimes where we are raised.
Taking something, ANYTHING, that is not ours is also dictated by how we are raised. Figuring out if it is worth protecting by getting involved is a matter of personal taste and values and experiences. This is a small matter. Ignore it. Let it go. The flowers will grow back. Sister said there are venial and mortal sins. |
Oh no. Another sex scandal in the square post. "Garden gets deflowered in The Villages."

Is that worse than someone not picking up after their dog.
Do people take pictures of that and send them to the police.....? Hmm |

There are way too many instances here in TV where folks just can't stay out of other people's business. |
I remember picking flowers from a neighbor for my mom when I was about seven. Mom made me go to my neighbor and tell her that I STOLE her flowers. As a consequence, I had to help my neighbor for three hours every Saturday for a month. For some strange reason, I never again picked flowers without permission. Shame these folks never learned that lesson. Doubt saying anything would have made a bit of difference.

take a picture of or in front of the flowers.....it lasts longer...

Unfortunately I see more and more of this kind of thing happening. If I had my cell phone handy I may have hollered at them "Smile, you're on candid camera" and when they looked up snapped a shot and sent it to the unmentionable news site which seems to delight in such matters. |

Suggest they add a aspirin to the water in the vase and change it every 3 days.
Don't forget to stop and smell the roses. |
