TOTV Member status

I like to post this from time to time. It's been a couple years since the last time I re-posted this.

I remember when I was brand new on this forum and wondered about how members got their status on TOTV. So I dug up this post from the Admin from 2011. I'm not sure if it is still current and accurate, but here is the list of TOTV status.

0 Post = Jr Member
30 Posts = Member
100 Posts = Sr Member
500 Posts = Veteran Member
1000 Posts = Gold Member
1500 Posts = Platinum Member
2000 Posts = Soaring Eagle Member
2500 = Sage Member

Some of you clowns are way beyond 2500.

And YES I mean that in the nicest possible way.

2500 = Clown Status?

More like should get a life 25,000 + status. I am over by 679. 25,679. This is over almost ten years however on TOTV. Most of my posts are about donating blood; movies and books I have seen or read; library stuff; political infighting with other TOTVers; NFL football pools; NCAA March Madness basketball pools; trips to DC and elsewhere; TV shows like Fargo, The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones; FunTrivia and its knockout rounds; the Numbers.com and their box office competitions and other stuff http://www.the-numbers.com/news/2227...-Review-Logan; Doggie Doo Run Run and other Villages' area dog parks or meeting areas; Barefoot and Golfing Eagles' lobster bet on the Three Word Sentence TOTV thread, etc. And lots of Happy Birthday wishes to people here in the Villages and to TOTV lurkers from near and afar.

I like clown status. So appropriate for some of us. And, yes, I'm including myself in that category.

Actually Redwitch you are one of the wisest posters on TOTV. Keep them coming. Nothing clownish about you at all. Graciegirl another 25,000 + poster would agree with that I expect.

Parker 06-19-2017 08:05 AM

Clowns are my favorite people, so I hope their status will be given the appreciation it deserves.

You people make me laugh

Yeah, that's right, my subject/title line says "You People"!

villagetinker 06-19-2017 08:17 AM

I guess I have some work to do, I am just under 4000, long way to 25,000.

After 35 years of dealing with very serious work, I would welcome the title "clown" as a badge of honor:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

I have about six years on TOTV more than you. Used to post polls about American Idol and who had the best night and the like.

CFrance 06-19-2017 08:22 AM

Calling people clowns always makes me laugh! It's just the perfect little poke without being nasty.

I have a number of relatives who have a pathological fear of clowns. I suppose if you read It or have seen the movie that might add to it. It (2017 film - Wikipedia)

Polar Bear 06-19-2017 08:41 AM

Does being just a bit over 2,500 qualify for clown status? :)

(By the way, one of my twin sons has a serious fear of clowns...won't get anywhere near the movie 'It'.)

dewilson58 06-19-2017 08:47 AM

2,500 or 25,000............does it matter??

I wish we had a reset button.

You're a "junior" clown, PB.

As a place to find Village information, when people use totv as their Facebook it hurts that purpose. Unfortunately Tapatalk does not interface well enough to properly take advantage of the block feature. For instance... when reading the support groups area, you can't block the voluminous amount of threads on things completely off topic.

Taltarzac725 06-19-2017 09:07 AM

Blood donors do give people support in the most important of ways. That why I have a lot of posts in that section on donating blood. It is more than just talking about your experiences overcoming whatever problems one might go to a Support Group. And many people here in the Villages donate blood and might like to read about other donators' experiences in a supportive manner.

If people would at least keep all their Facebook type posts in a single thread one would not have to scroll and scroll to get to support or something that may help them, DSG ETC

This does not only apply to support but every topic.

Wow, with only 4,000, I feel like a beginner. Of course, I did lurk on here for quite sometime! :D

I really like your posts Bonny about night life and the like in the Villages. They come in handy often.

Thumbs up! tinkers posts were always my favorites.

I assume the sites revenue streams are determined to a degree by the number of posts and threads, so I also assume there is a financial reason why the site owners actually like the facebook type poster.....

Personally it would be nice if they started a section, "what insignificant things I did today" for those people.

Why don't sharks eat clowns?

They taste funny.

ColdNoMore 06-19-2017 10:46 AM

Doesn't anyone else send $100 a month to the TOTV moderators and Admin's to maintain their status...or am I the only one?

(J/K...of course) :D

Not paranoid. Just 25,000 and 30,000 posts is a real commitment to TOTV especially over 10 and 9 years respectively. With a large number of these deleted as well so the number count would be a lot higher than that.

The gift that keeps on giving. Talking about post counts adds to your post counts.

This is true but not by much.

Just wanted to mention the Ignore List. If you do not like someone's posts or drama or whatever there is that option.

I have probably 12 people on that and one only has 24 posts to his/her credit. That must be a record.

Oh, I don't know. You've racked up ten posts in just this thread in about three hours.

No where near to catching up to Graciegirl though whose friendliness to many posters is acknowledged widely.

Jack9696 06-19-2017 11:42 AM

What is a deleted post? I can't seem to be able to delete my post. Maybe it's a level you achieve.

Why would someone have so many deleted posts as to make a significant difference in their post count?

Sorry for stupid questions. Been lurking a long time but have little experience posting.

My deleted posts were a result of clowning around or inappropriate responses!

I mean posts deleted by the Moderator even though I sometimes will delete a number of my own posts. You cannot delete anything once a thread is closed.

You can get to support groups in the Villages quickly by using the Virginia Trace web-site-- VIRGINIA TRACE, THE VILLAGES, FLORIDA

I really haven't pay any attention to how many post I have accumulated. I'll have to look after I submit this post.

Ms. G is definitely committed to ToTV (she brings a lot of value), others get their post number accumulation thru a commitment to Three Word Sentences.

That's because we are very interested in what happens with the lobster bet. Will they ever solve that pesky problem or not?
