Chumps proposed requirement that LEGAL immigrants must now speak English for admission, is playing to his base which for so many were actually hearing Trump say.... 'MAKE AMERICA WHITE AGAIN.'


On top of that, even with an overwhelming majority (almost 100%) from Congress demanding sanctions against Russia (and NK/Iran), Trump very reluctantly and grudgingly signed it while whining that he could have negotiated a better deal (yeah, right :1rotfl:) and calls the bill "seriously flawed"...because he cannot make them go away without Congress' approval. :oops:

And you ignorant Chump Cultists, still don't think that Trump isn't up to his lying a$$...in Russian alligators?

The United States is made up of many people from many lands. But, I also think it's important that everyone speak the same language once they get here. I also think this has no chance of ever seeing the light of day.

it's what we MUST do...make America white again. We peaked when we were 90% white...we've been falling proportionally as the numbers of non-whites have risen. The country has fallen from #1 to #25 as the numbers of whites has fallen. We are 49% white now and will be 20-24% within 30 years. America is done...finished unless the demographics change.

America has never been worse and it's also never been "darker" demographically.

America was white European...90% white European up until the 1960s when the policy shifted to importing brown people. Now, Hispanics are 1/3 the population and growing...they WILL be 51% within 30 years. America is already a "minority majority"...and the number of whites is dropping fast.

America up until the 1960s was a "melting pot" of different white people. 10% of the immigrants were colored. Now, it's reversed and immigration is 90% colored and 10% white.

America will NOT survive becoming a "colored" country...none have...the past is littered with former white countries becoming black/Hispanic run.

Well.............no.

The purpose of having legal immigrants, who will probably spend their entire lives in America, speak English is so they can hold jobs and assimilate. Otherwise, they might be headed for the welfare rolls.

And, as one who has traveled all around the world (over 20 countries) either while working or for personal pleasure, I can assure you that English is the lingua franca throughout the world.

This is evidenced by the fact that in all international commercial flights the contacts between the pilots and the control towers must be in English even if the pilots and tower operators are native speakers of another language that they have in common.

It is already the law that applicants for naturalization as Americans must speak English.

This is from the government web page on how to become a citizen.

Applicants must be:

* At least 18 years old at the time of filing
* Able to read, write, and speak basic English
* A person of good moral character

They also use OUR calendar...our time system, our aircraft, our computers, our radios, our GPS, our satellites, our TVs...etc...etc.

White Europeans created western civilization and the technology that built the world as it is today. so yes...they should speak our language too.

And show a little respect for white people instead of blaming everything on us. Where is that picture of the two Negros? One living among the "oppressive" white people and the other still living as they were found in Africa.

Apparently you aren't smart enough to realize that learning to speak English before becoming a citizen has always been a requirement...NOT that you had to speak English when you first got here.

Instead of speaking out of your a$$...try educating yourself first. :oops:

Its interesting the number of people who live in foreign lands take it upon themselves to learn to speak English just for the sake of better themselves. Many people strive to speak many languages. to wit Melania Trump

The unfortunate true is too many people immigrant here not to assimilate and it was assimilation that made this nation great. What does their refusal to learn the language really say and if they refuse our language what else about our nation will they refuse. assimilation is essential for all the obvious reasons

It also unfortunate too that many people born in the USA cannot comprehend that despite its flaws this nation is the best human civilization ever created. Instead like an army of Colin Kapernick's they so utter disregard and disrespect for this nation and its people. and so sow the seeds of this nation's destruction

It was done in the 1960s, when we switched from white immigration to black/brown immigration.

The ability to demonstrate that one can read, write and speak English, is currently and has always been a requirement for citizenship in this country.All this administration is doing is saying that they intend to enforce the law as written. Why is that a problem?

If people don't like the law, then they should lobby to change it, but as long as it exists, it is the duty of the federal government to enforce federal laws.

I think that pretty much everyone, including many on the left are getting tired of the cries of "racism" every time anyone mentions pretty much every thing these days.

You can add my wife to that number as well.

Isn't this why we are called the great melting pot? All of these various cultures come here and become a mixture of them all, not a hundred different cultures. Not a thousand different languages.

Now that's not to say that people can't be proud of and celebrate their heritage. There's nothing wrong with Italian American festivals or African American celebrations. Demonstrating all of the various cultures that are what the U.S. is made of is interesting and informative and allows people to hang on to a bit of their past, But we should never forget that we are a people that are bonded by common ideals, a common culture that is a blend of many cultures melted and mixed together with common goals and a common language.

People that come here and insist on keeping 100% of their culture and language are not interested in becoming Americans. We need to unite as a people not emphasize what divides us.

Trumps Law, which hopefully will never see the light of day, is talking about immigrants, not people applying for citizenship. Obviously by the time you apply for citizenship you have to have knowledge of the language etc.

i'm thinking back to earlier times when we had immigrants from Germany, from Italy, and other countries where people did not speak English or, maybe just a little bit. They got here, they went to Italian communities in New York City for example or German communities in Pennsylvania or whatever, got jobs and eventually applied for citizenship. Their children grew up learning two languages, Italian or German in the home, and English in the schools of course. The second generation is always a generation that is more Americanized. And that is something our country has always celebrated. That's why we have the Italian festivals and Oktoberfest, and that sort of thing. We celebrate our shared heritage from many countries across the globe.

As others have said, if an immigrant come here not knowing English, which many of them do not, and they reach the stage where they want to apply for citizenship, they will have to have that skill. It is a requirement.

This proposal has NOTHING to do with the requirements of changing the requirements to become a citizen, it is ONLY changes the requirements to get a green card to enter the country.

How many early immigrants, do you think already knew English when they first came here...versus learning it as a goal of becoming a naturalized citizen? :ohdear:

With that said, what is the problem with this change? Personally, I cannot imagine immigrating to another country without first knowing the language, maybe not fluently but at least enough for basic communication purposes. Seems to me that if you haven't even attempted to learn that, it doesn't show much initiative and certainly not much of a desire to be a part of the culture.

Do you honestly think all past immigrants came here knowing English? If you were brought up in Amsterdam, or Paris, China, or Rome in the 1800's, it is very unlikely you emigrated to the U.S. knowing English. English is becoming more prevalent in large cities that cater to tourists, but for many immigrants from small villages where there is no English spoken, they will learn English once they get here. As far as their initiative, I would think that giving up your country, your culture, your friends and family to move to a new country in hopes of a better life shows tremendous initiative.

We were a WHITE European "melting pot"...colored people didn't start immigrating in numbers until the 1960s...replacing the whites from Europe.

No we're not...we're just a bunch of squabbling minorities each out for themselves. Even white people aren't a majority any more...we're 49%. SPANISH is being spoken more and more as the Hispanics who have NO desire to be "American" become the majority.

No...they're not...they just want the "free" stuff that white people made and paid for.

We have festivals because people make money from them...let's be real.

And you don't think someone coming here to WORK...should be required to speak the language? HOW is THAT helping with "melting into society"?

Quite a few considering SPANISH is written on EVERY product sold in this country...it's the "unofficial" second language...it will soon be the "unofficial" primary language as the Hispanics become the MAJORITY within 30 years.

You're a FOOL to encourage these people to come here. We ARE filling up with 3rd worlders and becoming more 3rd world as a result. They WILL be the majority soon and in political control because of their numbers. We are changing like South Africa changed. S Africa was once under white control...an African jewel...it is now a dirty, nasty, corrupt black controlled country...a murder capital. Whites are being murdered and their homes and land taken from them as the blacks multiply.

WHAT GOOD is someone being here to work, when they don't know the language? What kind of job are they going to get? Do we NEED more minimum wage workers? What about the 100 million on welfare? Put THEM to work.

America already has TOO MANY unproductive colored people.

What do you see in that picture?

You see a stone age "cavewoman" without the wheel, written language, no draft animals, no technology, living in a grass and mud hut, scratching for roots and grubs. THAT is how we found black people.

You also see what happens when you send them to a civilized country. They WASTE their money on "bling". Just like the "cavewoman"...she doesn't have sh!t to live in, nothing to eat...but she's got JEWELRY! Looks and status is EVERYTHING to them...because it's ALL they've got. They can't go up against whites in anything but a few sports...sports where being big and aggressive makes the winner.

Notice...you didn't mention Hispanics or Africans...why? Because they DIDN'T immigrate here in any numbers until the 1960s. This "darkening" of America is a VERY recent thing.

They also weren't 3rd world like MOST of our immigrants are now.

Chinese? Coolies? BROUGHT here to work? I wouldn't call them "immigrants", more like slaves. And speaking of Chinese "slaves", why did THEY end up succeeding in America and the blacks are STILL the very bottom and no better off than when they were slaves.

Of course not, but from what I've seen in my lifetime within my own family and friends, at least 1 or 2 who immigrated within the family spoke pretty fluent English. These were usually the breadwinners - they came here to be productive citizens and taught the rest of the family how to assimilate by example. These people of whom I speak came from 3 different countries, all from small villages. We are living in different times today - access to learning the language is not as difficult as you make it out to be. I would think a person with such initiative would make learning the language their first priority.
