I looked around the CR466 WalMart and could not find any and tried asking one of the employees but she did not even know that there was going to be a solar eclipse. They might have them but I could not locate them.

Eclipse glasses

It seems that the only way to buy good, safe glasses now is in bulk. We only need two. Anyone already bought more than they wanted? PM please.

I made "eclipse" gifts for family. Used a small yellow plate for the sun and attached a moon pie. Everyone was sold out of moon pies, too. Finally found moon pie minis at dollar general.

Amazon

In watching the Channel 6 news tonight we were told they have a link for safe glasses. Ginger went to Amazon and purchased some for $9.00 and found out they're not the safe kind! So people please be safe........

went to Walmart on 441 and they were all sold out. Salesclerk said they went really fast but that they would get some more but not sure when.

Unfortunately, there will be alot of people viewing the Eclipse with unsafe glasses and they won't know it until the damage has been done. You're right, be safe.

We ordered ours online from Lowes. Picked them up same day. They were $5.00 and included a nice informative booklet. They ARE the safe ones.

I plan on making a pinhole camera and record it on the telly.

If it is a lunar eclipse when the earth passes between the sun and the moon, and a solar eclipse when the moon passes between the earth and the sun, what do they call it when the sun passes between the earth and the moon?

Welding Lenses

Try Achor Freight or welders supply business and look for electric welding lenses

I tried to order them from Lowes and the web-site says that they are only available at the store and to call them to see if they are in at their local store.

My local library here in Jersey is giving them away - they will also stream the eclipse in their community room!

NoMoSno 08-15-2017 04:33 PM

Don't have eclipse glasses? Make a pinhole projector to view the Great American Eclipse
It will happen around my nap time, so should be nice and dark for sleeping.

rubicon 08-16-2017 04:30 AM

paper reported glasses being order on amazon fake.

I want to see this solar event because while it is likely I will be around for another 100 years, I still do not want to leave it to chance on the next.
