Thank you

Went 2 weeks ago for lunch. Nice menu and the food was good. An issue was the temperature in the restaurant. It had to be in the 50's. there were 2 couples that actually had blankets wrapped around them. We sat down and the seats and table top was ice cold. Finally went outside and waited for an exterior table on the porch. Server said they had a condensation problem so the temp had to be kept cold. ????⛄️⛄️⛄️. Don't know if it's been corrected.

Thank you

Went for lunch with the hubby a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. Huge, fresh fried fish sandwich, good fries, cold beer.

We there Sunday for lunch. Sat at the bar. Service was excellent. Bartender Christian was great. Manager Kip was also great. Food was very good. Large portions. I've been there for breakfast a couple of times thought it was very good as well. Worth the drive!

vintageogauge 08-23-2017 02:20 PM

Have been there twice now, didn't have to wait, great waitress, good menu selections, everything was good including the prices. Glad to have it so near to home, we can walk there. I understand they will be open later starting this fall.

F16 1UB 08-26-2017 05:12 PM

Disappointed

Arrived Saturday at 2:50 only to stand around wondering if we walk in & just sit down....2 minutes later the hostess shows up. I thought a smile & hello would be appropriate. How many? Lunch? Name? 15-20 minute wait. There were 2 in front of us to sit inside. We were seated at 3:15 and received our sandwiches at 3:40. We got a fish sandwich, hot Italian sub, 2 fries, coke & tea. The food was just ok. Server was slow in re-filling drinks until at the end of the meal. Saw dirty tables that remained dirty the whole time seated.

Upon entering a smile & hello goes a long way. And how about leaving too....thank you for coming.... hope you enjoyed your meal....have a nice life...SOMETHING.... Hostess was MIA coming & going. She seemed to spend more time in the kitchen away from the front door than greeting guests that bolted directly to the bar that were waited on by 1 barmaid that had a bar full. At least she was interested in her customers.

I hope this place makes it. Right now they have a lock on the area....there's nobody else....yet.

Are you asking us to convey your suggestions to management?
Why didn't you?

If management cared about the experience, they'd ask before you left. We had a similar experience in early July, and you asked the same question. Did we complain to management? Management is obviously MIA, and doesn't seem to care if folks are satisfied.

Bogie -- not everyone wants to complain to management! Very unpleasant for all concerned.
We never complain -- we just don't go back!

between my wife and I and wife and her friends we have been their a total of 5 times. Always a pleasant experience for both of us both with service, friendliness and food. We are glad to have it so near to us. Whenever we have a bad experience at a restaurant we give it a second chance, if sill bad we simply stay away. If you go in thinking it will be bad, it will be bad no matter what they do, go in with a positive mind and it usually ends up being a good experience. There are lots of reasons for having bad service, maybe that day there were employees missing or management missing, it happens. We have been to several of the country club restaurants twice and will not go back, we also will not bad mouth or name them, we just stay away.

DeanFL 08-27-2017 07:51 AM

Went there for late lunch couple weeks ago with friends.

1. Surprised with the building progress; hadn't been there for 3 months (tour). Shouldn't be surprised tho - this IS TV...
2. The area is so different from TV "North of 44". rustic, country, peaceful, etc.
3. The Rec Center is so nice - and the Sales area depicts what is coming and will be down there.
4. the Boardwalk was not open then - but...what a nice feature.

The Grill:
1. Food was pretty OK, actually quite.
2. Service just fine,
3. Sat inside - too hot out, but the screened in patio next to great pool...nice.
4. Our only negative (and it was HUGE). The restaurant has all hard surfaces - so nothing to absorb noise. And there was PLENTY during our 80 minute stay. Bar (center of seating areas) was full and boisterous. Sam, Diane, Woody, and Carla were hoppin'. Cliff was yappin', and when this big guy came in they all yelled "NORM!!!". Kidding - BUT - OMG WAS IT LOUD!!! Non-stop from minute 1 to 80. It was one of those 'I can't hear so I'll just speak LOUDER'. Multiply that by 30 and no db absorption. I was going to mention it to the bartender but he was one of the loudest. We wrote it off to the booz and happiness - so be it. But if this is the "Norm" (sorry...) they should look into sound-sucking materials. We will definitely give FG another go - perhaps on the patio once the 80s return.

Same here. There are restaurants I don't go to and some I don't like. I have no need to complain about them I just don't go. Other people like them and that's fine by me.

Chatbrat 08-27-2017 10:20 AM

You not doing a service to anyone by not being critical--if a place is not good, future customers should be warned and the restaurant should be given a heads up, to what their doing wrong

But everyone has different expectations and views. I have never eaten octopus and I will never eat octopus, I wasn't brought up eating octopus, but I was brought up eating souse and headcheese and calf brains. We are all different. That doesn't mean we are more skilled at assessing food, just different.

I stop going to places that people find mice in the salad. I can't help myself. One's man's liver and onions is another man's yucky.

BUT someone can ruin a "decent" restaurants business by nay saying it without reasonable cause. I don't care what kind of booze is served. I don't drink anymore. I found I wasn't any good at it.

There are more than enough critics out there. My one voice won't be missed.

I don't feel it's my job to "warn" anyone if I don't like a restaurant. We all have different tastes. Some people are more tolerable than others. What bothers one person, may not bother me at all. I never listen to reviews if I haven't tried a place. I have to decide for myself. I don't need anyone to decide for me.
Even restaurants I like have things I don't like, but I wouldn't tell anyone not to order something. It could be just my taste buds.

Bonny, I agree with you. I usually do not write negative reviews and I do like to try places myself.

And, I especially agree with you that some people are "more tolerable" than others.

I agree with Chatbrat. This forum is a conversation, and not a complaint board per se. A candid summary of your experience is always appreciated both good and bad.

If you see a movie, or eat in a restaurant, we expect your honest opinion. If you rave about every movie, or every restaurant, one begins to wonder if you're a Pollyanna or just have low standards--or maybe no taste. I have no axe to grind when we try a new restaurant. Would it be more reasonable to try a particular restaurant five times before you express an opinion publicly. Perhaps, but we're not professional restaurant critics, and we'd like to be impressed whenever we eat out. If a restaurant fails in TV, it's probably due to poor management than bad reviews on TOTV. It's also human nature to "complain" about poor food or poor service, than offer praise when it's due.

I don't believe it's "human nature" to complain. If I did complain, it would be my honest opinion. I just don't like to complain.
It's like when people complain about an Italian restaurant saying it's the worst they ever had. It's almost always about the flavor of the sauce. Our taste buds are all different.

CowBubba 08-27-2017 03:26 PM

It is good for us.

Conveniently taken out of contex. My comment was an observation that people will more often report a bad experience than take the time to write a positive review. It's wrong. If you're going to report your restaurant experiences, please share both positive and negative. I'd personally love to hear about any restaurants that you've tried and decided not to return. We're trying to have a conversation.

I just reread the post. Not sure how it was taken out of context.
I thought I was having a conversation here.

Fenney Grill is a busy place. Went there at 1:30 today......an hour wait for two people.
I'll try again sometime.

jchase 09-04-2017 08:08 PM

We've been there in the past for lunch and breakfast. I thought it was great. Went Sunday about 10:30 AM. Half hour wait and the food was so so. I think they need more help. Alot of empty tables. I'll give it another shot.

Taltarzac725 09-05-2017 09:22 AM

I liked their grilled chicken sandwich. :icon_hungry:

We went on Saturday for lunch. We are on a hot streak. Another fantastic lunch and our waitress was very good. Try to fit in the Onion Rings. Even if the Weight Watchers Police is watching just test a couple of them. I love Fenney. I thought the whole moving thing was put to sleep but it's been put on the front burner again. We'll see.

It's amazing how fast these homes are going up down here. The putt and play is a huge hit as there are more and more players there every day especially on weekends along with the Croquette and Lawn Bowling. In a couple weeks the golf courses will be open and that should bring a lot more down just to try their unique designs out. They have already started the next village I believe named Desoto just east of Fenney.

JoelJohnson 10-16-2017 07:20 AM

Went there for the first time yesterday. Had to wait a little while (some help didn't show up), I had the cheeseburger, my wife had chicken wings and my sister had salad with fish sticks. Burger was very good, salad was good, but the wings were a bit undercooked. The manager met us at the entrance, and even though he is new to the business, he is very enthusiastic and is looking to be the best. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. I'd go back again.

As a former small business owner, I ask you to please re-think this statement.

The manager can not be everywhere all the time.

I always told my customers to please let me know if there is a problem with their order, because I can NOT fix a problem that I do not know about.

Give the company/place some time to address your issue then give the place/company one more try after talking with the management to see if they have corrected the problem.

If the issue still has not been addressed THEN you never have to go back again. But give them the chance to make it right for you.

Remember, if they don't know something is wrong, how are they going to fix it??

Ingenuity 10-16-2017 08:28 AM

You all help many people like me who are new so please continue with reviews. I look at the reviews about various businesses and sometimes make a decision at that time whether or not to do business. What I look for is consistency. If 1 person out of 20 had a bad experience, I chalk it up to a bad day, maybe on both sides. Vermin in food is definitely a deal killer. I like Fenny Grill. We ate there about 2 weeks ago when you needed a parka inside. But everyone was nice. It was very busy, even so, the manager came to our table to make sure everything was okay. When we eat out and there is a problem, we let management know. Most of the time management is very receptive and appreciative of the feedback.

Sheshe6774 11-03-2017 04:36 PM

Had lunch there today. Arrived at 1:30, finally seated at 2. After receiving our drinks, water & iced tea, the waitress was MIA for a long time. Finally returned & took order, another half hour before we saw any food. Grill was great when it first opened but has gone downhill as far as the food is concerned. Fatty roast beef on toasted bread was supposedly a’hot sandwich’, Reuben was thick & fatty also. Will be awhile before going back!
