So is the assumption that Latinos and Asians will continue to vote at an overwhelming clip for Democrats.

The view, which underpins the whole idea of a "new American majority" , ignores the diversity that already prevails among voters lumped together as "Latino or Asian".

Cuban-Americans in Miami vote very differently from Mexican-Americans in Los Angles; immigrants from Japan or Viet Nam come from starkly different cultures than those from south Korea or China."

I don't see the big deal.

The "melting pot" was white Europeans mixing. America was 90% white and immigration was 90% white...up until the mid 1960s and Johnson's "great society" began the darkening of America and it's downfall.

America began a slow collapse that day.

What is better? Name me a statistic that has improved. We've dropped from #1 to #25, we're $20 TRILLION in the hole and each year we add over a $ trillion more. Education is down. The economy is fake propped up by the Fed lending and buying assets. Happiness is down. Safety is down. More and more on welfare then ever before. Violence is up.

ALL because America has gone from 90% white to 49%.

I view the article as a good sign. It seems only self-interests keep peddling the racist theme for fame or fortunate. For the rest of us the great melting pot is working for one reason or another. Stated another way the majority is and will always be "Americans" period.

I expect that the Villages will have a much more diversified population in 100 years or so and probably be all the way to Lake Okeechobee.

When I read this article I asked the same question to myself. so when I posted it I was waiting for someone to bring it up for discussion and now here we are.

Obama is half white and half black and yet he identifies as black. I believe it has become customary for our society to view half white half black as black. why? I leave that for others to address.

If you noticed Hispanics with a mixture of indian or black, with few exceptions,are still referred to as Hispanics ?
