California, with the sixth largest economy in the entire world, supports many Republican states with its taxes.

That's very true. And those fires look like they are destroying a lot of homes and many of these could also be those of Republicans. There are areas of California with rather wealthy Republicans as well as Democrats. And many of these could be donors to the Republican party.

I helped the Napa Valley economy this fall quite a bit. Stocked up my wine cellar for the season and visited at least one of the vineyards that were reported destroyed.

I called a former work friend who lives in the area to see if she and her family were ok.

It's rather silly to hurl insults while people's lives are being destroyed just because you have differing political beliefs.

Can't say as I remember that happening when Gatlinburg TN went up in flames.

Some of the gays/lesbians I have met here in the Villages are some of the nicest warmest people here. And there were a pair of these I met at one of the Crispers meetings and these two woman were also a joy to talk to-- intelligent, compassionate, funny.

Don does have an extremely black heart to go along with his racism. Many of the blacks I have met were quite warm hearted even in the worst of circumstances. I met my sister-in-law's extended family at my late brother's funeral service near St. Petersburg, FL. Had not met any of them before that.

I actually grew up in an area you consider "bad". Son of a steelworker and neighbors with all colors of skins and languages.

Most of them would put you to shame with their moral standard and respect for other people.

Probably close to 50% attended some sort of schooling beyond high school, although in those days if you had black skin your selection was poor at best. Jobs also, thus they were restricted to low end jobs in the steel mills or worse.

I know that most families were law abiding citizens, BUT they shared my frustration with their skin color being the determining factor is so many issues in their lives. I only can speak to one guy with whom I have re established contact and his grandchildren were the first to be able to overcome some of the bias and are attending first rate schools.

YOU are so wrong and that is why you just take up space......the problem is NOT their skin color but their economic situation. Those folks who kill, rob, sell drugs and happen to be white I suppose are just genetic mistakes.

Your condemnation of someone by skin color is a testament, in my experience to a loser who must find a way to be superior.

Most of the people I have met over the 58 years I have lived are nothing like the trolls on Talk of the Villages. I can think of maybe 20 people with values as despicable as the ones shown on Talk of the Villages' Political Forum and I am including the 35 or so prisoners or ex-prisoners from about four Minnesota Correctional Facilities.

I have lived near Milwaukee, WI; Reno, NV; Denver, CO; Provo, UT; Scottsdale, AZ; Pleasanton, CA; Belmont, CA; Minneapolis, MN; Itasca, IL; Rohnert Park, CA; Palm Harbor, FL., and the Villages.
