What are they building?

Does anyone know what they are building in the field next to Lowe’s on 441?

skip0358 10-17-2017 12:33 PM

That is the new ALDI market

Nope. Aldi is under construction on 466A in front of the new Lowe's construction site.

I know that a Wawa is going to be built on 441 between Great Lakes Carpet & Tile and the cell tower to the south. Is that the location you mean?

I think the poster is referring to the piece of land between Lowes and The Villages on 441/27. This is the piece of land which is used by Villagers to get from TV to Lowes and Walmart and Aldies etc. It has been under construction for sometime. I think there is a sign with what is going in there, but I have never bothered to look.

Steve9930 10-17-2017 03:25 PM

WaWa.

There is a brand new WaWa under the final stages of construction at the corner of 466 and 301.

Looks like a gas station combined with a quickie mart. Big deal.

Wiotte 10-17-2017 05:47 PM

I prefer a gas station that sells only gas & oil. Their pretty much extinct now as are the road maps that were free.
I never go inside, pay at the pump and I’m on my way.
WaWa ? I don’t get it nor do I want to.

Attached are the plans for a Wawa. Great Lakes is to the left of NE 135th Crossing. The cell tower is to the right of the Wawa site.

NoMoSno 10-17-2017 08:59 PM

:wave:Yes, Wawa

Please share what we’re missing. I don’t understand why a gas station convenience store should gather so many accolades.

Good sandwiches, coffee, etc. Plus they are always clean.

Cleanliness and quality of fresh coffee and food top my list of 'why stop at WAWA' convenience stores. Loved the day my local WAWA implemented kiosk ordering - no emps lost their jobs and ordering was a snap!

Until you have had the opportunity to participate in the WAWA convenience store experience it is easy to not understand. ;)

Oh Yeah. Looks like Dunkin Donuts will have to step up their game. The wait is so long at the drive in I had to go home and shave again. WAWA is a winner. I would say it is as good as DD. The made to order sandwiches are great and the joint is clean. Gas price is usually a few cents less than those around it. The construction is at a furious pace. It's a good thing. :clap2:

jsw14 10-18-2017 03:58 PM

Hmmm, it looks like WaWa on 301 will be Open just in time for the Snowbirds when they arrive. Beep, Beep, Honk, Honk... Hay buddy I was here FIRST don't ya Know..... It's goin too BE A Bussy, bussy bissy place to be.... Keep UR Eye on UR Purse Lady's.

Now this is a gas station!

I just assumed it was either a mattress or carpet store

Bigger is better

We have this mentality “bigger is better”. It’s worked pretty well for Walmart so why not a gas station? :coolsmiley:

Circle K Shell and Walmart Murphy Gas are very competitive on 441/27.

Wawa can't hold a candle to Love's, Pilot or Flying J for convenience stores and restaurants.

.

For all those that don't like Wawa, please don't try the Wawa hoagie. If you do, then it will surely take me longer to get mine!

Brad-tv 10-21-2017 06:02 PM

I don't know much about wa wa, we don't have those in Long Island but the one store that is missing around here is 7-11
Back in NY there is one on every corner.
I've seen a few in Orlando but nothing close to TV?

skip0358 10-22-2017 07:34 AM

Agree a 7/11 would be nice. Good Coffee & Miss the Slurpees

Can we get back to the OP? What is happening in the field southeast of the Lady Lake Lowe's?

Nothing yet, Brown still owns it, but has posted signs that it is for sale.
Hopefully with WaWa going in, it will encourage someone to develop it, and eliminate the dirt path in the process.

Have you ever been inside of a WaWa. I was shocked the first time I went into one. They're not the typical Circle K or Kangaroo. They have excellent food choices. They are more like a fast food restaurant with a mini-mart (but much better than the typical gas station mini-mart) and gas station attached.

Find a WaWa and visit. You'll never want to go into a 7-11 again.
