In my view our tax policy should be efficient and simple. Its goal should not be fairness because that is a subjective term and as such everyone will want their share of fairness. In that I am against all types of carve outs

I am interested in others opinion concerning the following current tax breaks and perhaps other tax breaks that come to mind

Employer-provided healthcare and medical care
Capital/ dividend/interest gains
State and local tax deductions
Mortgage Interest deduction
Charitable -donation deductions
Tax credits for renewable
Tax credits for purchase of EV (electric vehicles)
Import/Export subsidy for corporations

"Tax Policy" is thinly disguised Type 2 legislation: screwing somebody in some fashion.

Fair tax is the flat tax on personal income only -- all tax after Income tax is Double taxation.

To achieve that, the Constitutional machinery has to be overhauled. Here's a place to start:

An honest discussion has to start with this so called tax reform is a direct transfer of our grandchildren’s future earnings to their parents and grandparents. Shame on us for supporting this piece of garbage.

Despite the sledge-hammer emphasis of the is post, I doubt the poster is sincere, since deficit spending has been a fact of life for decades, and I suspect this poster never mentioned deficits during the 8 years of Obama.

Huh? WHY should MY income...MY labor be taxed? WHY does the government think it's entitled to part of MY labor? It can tax imports, it can have a "use tax". But it SHOULDN'T be taxing the work I do as an individual person.

ONLY when you run a deficit year after year and owe $20 trillion that you'll NEVER pay back. It's OVER $60,000 PER man, woman, and child. A baby born today...owes more than $60,000 as his share.

Fraud is the only word you had to use. Government transfers our labor to themselves through the "money system". You see...we do actual work and they hand us pieces of paper. Then we have to give some of it back as "taxes" on out labor...and interest...for loans that are nothing more than a bank ledger entry. The bank puts nothing on the line. They don't have warehouses full of gold to back anything up. It's ledger entries. Numbers on a computer screen. MOST of the "money" doesn't exist anywhere as cash.

People ignore the financial situation the country is in NOW. $20 trillion in debt and borrowing over $1 trillion every year. We ARE bankrupt...the party won't last forever. It will end within 30 years. An 80% minority America won't survive.

THAT is how you killed your grandchildren's future...you gave away "white America" and are replacing it with 3rd world America.

Those tax breaks listed are all worth having with the exceptions of purchasing electric vehicles, and the subsidies for corporations.

There has to be a Constitutional Amendment to prohibit government debt. We're chumps if we think government will control itself.

It seems to me, sadly, once again the Republicans are turning to Trickledown Economics. It hasn't worked before and it will not work now. Just ask Kansas.... Sam Brownback was elected Governor along with a Republican Senate and House enacted into law as the first order of business.

You are correct it will not work but it will pass with support from both sides. Politicians keep their jobs year after year by coming up with innovative ways to pass debt onto our grandchildren. They have a winner here.

Yes I do say so but you are absolutely correct about a balanced budget, although stock market would collapse.

I think that the draft dodgers’ proposal to eliminate the AMT is the primary thing that he really wants. The 1040 tax form that he leaked, to prove that he paid taxes that year, show that of the $38 million that he paid in taxes, $31 million was for AMT. He may also want to eliminate the estate tax that taxes any estate over $11 million.

Not sure of the point this post is presenting...Are you saying your efforts have accomplished nothing??

I am 54, I had to sign up for service at 18 but I dont believe tbey haf a draft at that time. I believe they dodge the draft by not reporting when they are ordered to do so. Many of those people would leave the country.

I was not part of TOTV when Obama was in office so posting here then would have been rather difficult. I know it's hard for some people to grasp but there really are people who don't like Trump and also didn't like Obama. Your assumptions that someone who critcizes party X must blindly support party Y is an error made by both red and blue supporters. My positions are neither red nor blue but are more purple so nobody totally represents me and every elected official disappoints me in one way or another. Even those I voted for.

Like sports with and without girls. Do you want to see mandatory women players in professional sports? Each team HAS to field 50% women at any time. Would you watch it? No...because compared to NO WOMEN (segregated) professional sports...diversified sports sucks. Would you WANT the NFL and NBA to require that no more than 15% of the players can be black instead of the 80% now? No...again, it would make it worse.

White people make better neighbors than the minorities. Period. Always. We shouldn't be encouraging them. We can provide for them...but we shouldn't be artificially propping them up. FORCING them into positions they can not hope to be able to prosper in. Because of quotas, companies are required to carry 20% dead weight. Schools, colleges...are FULL of dead weight...minority dead weight.

America IS falling...it IS failing. BECAUSE the demographics are changing...from 90% white to 49% white to 20% white in 30 years.

I have no problem with people having had a valid draft deferment. However, Trump got a draft deferment claiming to have heal spurs after he played sports for his college teams. During the campaign, he claimed that he was the best baseball player in New York at that time. I think that the Mickey Mantle fans would not agree. He also does not even remember which heal had the problem. That is what I call a draft dodger.

So real men don't go to college...
