First & last trip to Havana

Had to drop by the new "Havana" ordered 2 Grey Goose Vodka's chilled -, was thinking about getting the prime rib-till my wife saw, the prime rib that a person sitting next to her had been served--it literally was as thin as a pancake

If you want prime rib there are @ least 3 other places to go to, Arnold Palmer, Cody's and the Cane

By the way we were charged $21.60 for two light vodka' still gave the bar person a $5.00 tip

Meat must be an endangered species @ the Havana

I heard the Circle C is excellent

If you want a really good steak, go to The Texas Roadhouse on 441/27, by Sams club.

4 of us had the prime rib last week at Havana. There are 3 sizes and we all ordered the 12 ounce and it was far from thin. It was very good. I would return for the prime rib.
I do not like the prime rib at Cody's I found the one at Havana more flavorful.

We went at 4pm and got seated quickly and both ordered the 8oz prime rib with potato and salad. Meat was thick, juicy, tasty and cooked medium as requested. Our server, Victor, was attentive and the manager even hand delivered us raffle tickets for the "Free Dinner Raffle." We will be back!

We arrived at 5 P.M. to be seated after a 15 min wait. We also ordered the 8oz prime rib. It did seem a little thin for the price but tasted fine. For some reason our server forgot to mention the option of a salad and then forgot to initially bring my vegetable and did serve the wrong sauce for the meat. All issues were corrected but we didn’t receive and forgot to ask for the raffle tickets. We will return at some point in time when things settle down but didn't notice anything special in this first visit.

So, what did you have to eat at the restaurant? Try Stoli Elite instead of Goose. Much smoother!

We are very happy with the new Havana. Have eaten there numerous times and our Thanksgiving dinners were great.
8 oz prime ribs are not going to be thick. Next time order the 12 ounce.

We have had nothing but good meals at Havana. A good place.

My girl's group went on Monday, before they were giving raffle tickets. I believe all of us enjoyed our meals, service was excellent. I will definitely be back.

Havana has reorganized and is very good now. Gray goose, LOL.

Chatbrat 12-08-2017 07:02 AM

Grey Goose is their best vodka, our vodka of choice is Chopin potato

Sobieski made from rye is $19.00 and the smoothest vodka I’ve eve had. Those high dollar vodkas are a waste, TO ME.

I give Havana high praise for great tasting food and low drink prices. Their calamari is the best in The Villages.

BoatRatKat 12-08-2017 08:02 AM

I've got nothing but praise for their food and service.

I will have to try that. Like calamari when cooked just right.

Last timei went to Havana...I ordered a ketel one martini straight up with olives. Waitress came with a rock glass with rack vodka and told me they ran out of olives.

They still charged me 9.50 for a martini.

I should have called the manager over but this was beyond complaining. This was...ill find another place...Roadhouse on 44 might be better

How long ago? Before the new owners? At the end Hemingways was out of everything.

EPutnam1863 12-08-2017 06:10 PM

I read somewhere to check when the chef is off duty and then don't go that day.
also don't go near the end of the day when the staff may be exhausted.

spring_chicken 12-08-2017 07:11 PM

Anyone who thinks Cody's has good prime rib should probably just stop at Circle K for a spinning hot dog.

texasfal 12-08-2017 07:38 PM

I went to Havana for lunch last Friday and ordered a turkey burger. I was served a thin frozen turkey patty on a bun. It was less than 4 oz. I spoke to the owner who told me that not enough people order to make it from fresh ground turkey. I don't know why they keep it on the menu.

Viperguy 12-08-2017 08:10 PM

If you want a really, really good steak, go to Sam's and cook it yourself.

If you want a fabulous steak go to Costco and buy prime.

Chatbrat 12-08-2017 10:16 PM

The prime rib was about 1/4" thick looked like it would make a nice sandwich, not close to anything I would ever order--people have complained about the panini-making calmari is very easy , defrost the block of frozen squid, and fry gently--make a nice sauce and cover==great food for the masses

and thats what we do Sam's "prime" meat @ home
