This website, which used to be a tremendous source of helpful information about The Villages, seems to have become overrun by racists, misogynists, xenophobes and other judgmental contributors who are convinced that they are somehow superior to people who are not exactly like them in appearance and thought. I don't think it's a reflection of America as a whole, and I hope it's not a reflection of The Villages Community. Any thoughts, and please don't bother with the name calling because I don't give a flip about what you think of me personally or politically. Just curious if others get the same sense.

It is not. Very few people I have met in the Villages over the past 12 years are anything like 99.9 % of the people on here.

And the Political Forum is full of a gang of particularly foul trolls led by Allegiance and Dirtbanker. Who crossed over into the realm of CRIMINAL HARASSMENT a long time ago. I have no idea why the MODERATOR has not banned these two from the Political Forum and Talk of the Villages as well.

The law will catch up with CRIMINALS such as these. Some may need to give it a HUGE push.

There should not be a PASS on long term CRIMINAL HARASSMENT.

When you show me a black or hispanic "villages"...99% minority...that's as nice as here...you let me know. You claim equality...show it to me. She me where they live is as nice as where white people live.

When you show me a TOP black school...a MIT or Oxford...I'll believe in equality.

When you show me the negro Einstein, Newton...Leonardo, Rembrandt.

When you show me the great civilizations...Greece, Rome.

When you SHOW me something they as a people are equal in...THEN I'll believe they really are. Until then...I see them as the low of the low...beneath everyone else. ALWAYS the lowest class no matter the society/country.

You are posting on Political Talk and as far as I can remember there have always been posters who simply possess no self-restraint.

The type of political posters you describe above are either not serious people or do not have the ability to assimilate .

They are lacking in content knowledge and rely on one word arguments. Foul language and pornographic remarks are used to cover for their lack of subject content.

There is no way of knowing if a poster resides in The Villages, outside perimeter of The Villages or in another state. Also their is no way of really knowing their age, race or sex.

No, I don't get that sense. This forum seems to have a number of intelligent people on it, and I would consider it to be a total reflection of the Villages I have known the last 5 years. I agree that it is a small percentage of Villagers that are racist, misogenistic, etc., but I think having a racist and misogynist in the White House has given these people the idea that they can be more mainstream and not hide in the background anymore. We have run into a few of them in public, (in The Villages) and they can be very aggressive with their views and actions. Look at any poll, though, and you see that Trump's approval ratings hover around 35%. Hopefully we will be getting rid of him, and these horrible people will go back to hiding in the closet.

I sure hope so. I have run into a few racist and women haters here in the Villages over the 12 years I have been here. This Political Forum allows them to be anonymous and they have become extremely vocal as have those who commit crimes on here with repeated CRIMINAL HARASSMENT of a very flagrant type.

It is very distracting from my 224 613 Project which is sad. Donald John Trump would probably approve of this Project but I would rather not be linked to someone with so many allegations against him of sexual assault and harassment.

POINT OF CLARIFICATION:

If someone makes a statement that is disparaging to women in general and are thus labeled misogynist, then that is simply a statement of fact.

If someone makes a statement that is demeaning to persons of other races in general and are thus labeled racist, then that is a statement of fact.

If someone makes a statement that is denigrating to persons from other countries and regions in general and are thus labeled xenophobes, that that is a statement of fact.

If I call someone a misogynistic, racist, xenophobic a-hole, then that is judgmental.

What if someone makes a statement that seems disparaging or racist to you, but not everyone else, is it a fact or a figment of your imagination?

Should those statements be voted on by the members of the board, or do you feel you get to decide?

I get to decide for me. You get to decide for you. And so on, and so on, and so on. Frankly, it's not that difficult to read a statement and know if it is disparaging, demeaning, or denigrating and to determine to which group the statement is directed. I think most of us can do it and agree. If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's likely a duck.

It is just common sense which seems quite uncommon these days.
