Petro Needs In Feeney

Is there reasonable access by cart to get a fill up for your gas cart in Feeney?

Is there reasonable access to get your gas grill propane tank filled in Feeney?

Regor 12-20-2017 06:35 AM

No & No

Have you been there Rubicon? It is a short ride at this time from the rest of The Villages.

There isn't a gas fill up or grocery inside any of the Villages now. All commercial is adjacent. All commercial is built to house folks who lease them.

vintageogauge 12-20-2017 07:40 AM

They are selling gas for golf cars at the two golf courses down here as well as minor repairs for golf cars at the same location. Propane is available in several places nearby, gas stations are 2 miles away on 301

billethkid 12-20-2017 07:55 AM

It does not take more than 10-15 minutes to get to anywhere in TV from anywhere else in TV.

jnieman 12-20-2017 08:37 AM

There is always a gas can. The carts don't hold a ton of gas and it lasts a long time. We fill up once a month.

Yes and Yes
Gas available at grey and red fox. How more convenient is that. As for gas grill propane we exchange at Walmart or gas station, I am using a car for that, not putting a propane tank in the golf cart since there is no secure holding area. Are you thinking of moving

golf2140 12-20-2017 10:12 AM

Bonita to Lopez 30 to 40 minutes.

CWGUY 12-20-2017 10:12 AM

Yep for GC Gas, Red Fox and Grey Fox starter shack. There is a sign on the pumps that say open 9:00 - 12:00
A bit expensive, but at least gas is available.

Propane, go to the Ace in Wildwood.

Hmmm. According to google maps rohan to mullberry rec centers is 28-29 minutes by car in TV. If you do 44_301_42, again by car, 24 minutes. A that time driving in TV doesn't account for the cloggers (the species formerly known as snowbirds) in the circles.

A cart would be a lot more.

The only misinformation posted was by Regor stating that there was "NO" gas available in Fenney for golf cars as there is. The travel times mentioned in the other posts did not state it was via golf car, the assumption is that those times are in a automobile.

EPutnam1863 12-20-2017 02:12 PM

LOg into MapQuest or similar website, enter your address and address of nearest gas station. (You will need to search for gas station online first to get its address). I always use this method when I am trying to find out how far a place is.

CFrance 12-20-2017 06:57 PM

Let's leave the lovely people in Fenney (NOT Feeney) alone to enjoy their neck of The Villages. They obviously wanted to be there, or they wouoldn't have bought. They are the pioneers of TV, as were the people who bought below the Historic side, below 466, below 466A. I think it sounds delightful, myself.

I guess you haven't driven from Fenney to Spanish Springs. Or even Brownwood to SS for that matter. If you can make that trip in "10-15 minutes" I'd love to know what type of aircraft you use! :D

billethkid 12-20-2017 07:09 PM

OK so I was off a little.....I should have clarified by automobile....I have so much fun when I am out and about amongst the villagers, rubbing shoulders, bumpers and fenders that time just gets away from me....or how long or how far just is not what is important to me.

Are grey and red fox golf courses? Do you have to play golf to fill up the golf cart gas tank?

Yes the executives golf course. Gas is located at the courses for convenient access. (Those who are negative of Fenney would probably tell you TV makes you play a round of golf before you can have any minor repairs or fill of on gas. Sorry that was a little sarcasm.)

We drive down to play Red and Grey about once a week. Pretty courses. It’s about the only time we take the convertible out for a spin

rubicon 12-21-2017 05:19 AM

Please simplify this for me.

Is it better to buy a propane tank and get a refill or enter a propane exchange plan? to either response name of nearest dealer, please.

As to gas for golf cart Gray/RedFox have distributors Yes /No?
Other than these courses where is the nearest gas station?

As to travel the folks I know who are moving to Feeney were told by the villages agents that tunnels for both carts and cars are planned.

Have any of you been told or heard of this?

Personal Best Regards:

On the day of the "State of the Villages" address, the annual one, the one that you need free tickets to, our first....

I heard Mark Morse say that they had completed, that very afternoon acquiring land that would make Fenney part of our..........land mass, contiguous Villages. That it would be golf car accessible.

This is the only time I ever laid eyes on Mark Morse and we were sitting in the front row because Henry got there really early to get tickets when they became available.

It was a nice evening. We enjoyed seeing these folks and their family.

That's all I got.

Now you know that gas is available for golf carts at Fenney.

Please all remember that the Fenney folks are just like all of us when we first moved here, proud and pleased and they were given financial incentives of lower home prices to be "pioneers".

I wish them happiness and Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.

bonrich 12-21-2017 06:55 AM

I get my propane tank refilled at Ace Hardware in Wildwood.

Other than the gas at the golf courses the nearest gas stations are 1 mile to Coleman or 2 miles on 301 at the Turnpike exit. The tunnels and bridges are shown on a drawing in the Sales office for all to see along with future amenities. The Sales Office is not high pressure, they will answer any and all questions you have, take a ride down and see what is going on.

billethkid 12-21-2017 07:33 AM

Have been refilling our own tanks for many years.
Boils down to personal choice.....refilling might be a little less$$$ overall.

graciegirl 12-21-2017 08:33 AM

Rubicon.

Drive down to Fenny and see for yourself.

Ain't nothing going on but people buying houses there and enjoying themselves.

It is all part of how business works. If they weren't buying homes built by our builder, someone else would buy the land and it would be built by them.

Amen and Peace, brother.

OH...and Vintageogauge? Do y'all pronounce it Fee-Knee or does it sound like Hen-knee?

OP is not happy with the growth of The Villages. Hence the "Feeney" and gas references.

Come on Rubi. It has been verified on this site many times. Even with links to published information.
I know you read all...so how did you miss those posts?
And no, I don't think the villages agents lied!

Chatbrat 12-21-2017 03:19 PM

IMHO- the most important aspect of living in Fenney is emergency response time & distance & time to a hospital

Chi-Town you breach the commandment of bearing false witness against your neighbor.:)

Chi-Town you demonstrate why confirmation bias is unhealthy and unwise.:)

Chi-Town I still bear you no malice

THE ACTUAL REASON RUBICON HAS INQUIRED ABOUT PETRO NEEDS IN FEENEY AND THE REASON HE WANTED AS ACCURATE A RESPONSE IS PERSONAL..RUBICONS DAUGHTER IS MOVING DOWN TO FEENEY AS HER HUSBAND RECEIVED A LUCRATIVE JOB OFFER

Mr & Mrs. Rubicon purchased a new gas grill for them and is just trying to decide whether to get a new propane tank or enter a exchange program

Mr. & Mrs, Rubicon are trying to determine if an electric or gas cart is most suitable.

We bought a grill from Lowe's and the guy there suggested Ace in wildwood.

when we bought a new grill from Home Depot they had an exchange program. Ii misunderstood and thought they were refilling my tank. Insetad entered us in an exchange program.

i went to Ace to refill the tank they gave me and the guy working propane told me the tank should have never been approved and someone had painted over the bad rust.

We bought a new tank.

thank you for verifying what the Lowe's guy suggested.

It may or may not surprise you that I had no interest in what was happening in Feeney and in fact even at my wife's urging would not drive over with her to look at homes. simply I am not one to look at homes, etc. It wasn't until a couple weeks ago when we received the news from the kids that my interest piqued.

bogie I am kind of disappointed that you would have misjudged me so
People may disagree with me, and perhaps rightly so but I have always been a straight shooter

My judgement was based on what you said (see in red). You make a statement about the sales agents and then you ask if anyone else has heard this.
The implication being you don't believe what the sales agents said, was true.

yabbadu 12-21-2017 05:00 PM

It is Fenney.....

Harry Gilbert 12-21-2017 05:13 PM

A side note on propane tanks:

The tanks that are available for exchange are typically 15lb tanks for roughly $17.99 per exchange.

The Tanks available at the big box stores are 20lb tanks and can be refilled for roughly $15 after an initial cost of $30
