Foreign Policy reports Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team has information that White House Counsel Don McGahn likely knew national security advisor Michael Flynn broke the law as early as January.

In the very first days of the Trump presidency, Don McGahn researched federal law dealing both with lying to federal investigators and with violations of the Logan Act, a centuries-old federal law that prohibits private citizens from negotiating with foreign governments, according to three people with direct knowledge of the confidential government documents.

The records that McGahn turned over to the special counsel indicate he researched both statutes and warned Trump about Flynn’s possible violations.

Yet for almost nine months, the White House has said that the president did not know of Flynn’s actions.

I am saying...it is history, was investigated by congress and actually more documents came out last year....but it is not even remotely related to the current indictments and investigations on going with our current White House.

It is, along with the names Clinton or OBama, or emails or the fraud story on uranimium used consistently to defend Trump.

Defend Trump if you wish, but do it based on Trump, not the past.

That makes no sense whatsoever to anyone.

If you cannot defend Trump based on the discussion, I suppose just keep quiet.

All this brings back into question what President Trump knew about Michael Flynn's activities and conversations when he encouraged FBI Director James Comey to let the Flynn matter go and then when he ultimately fired Comey in May.

Trump goes after all of our democratic institutions, one by one, in his effort to destroy anyone or anything that challenges his credibility. "Fake news". "So called judges". "Incompetent intelligence agencies". "FBI reputation in tatters". His own people in the DOJ and the State Department. He gets a lot of this material from Fox entertainers like Pierro and Hannity. They feed off each other. I don't know what Fox's agenda (or rather, Murdoch's agenda) is in all this. Of course Murdoch is not a native born American citizen, so it's possible he is actually out to destroy this country from within. Certainly he must know that his base demographic is shrinking, so it's a zero sum game so far. At the very least he needs to rein in Hannity and Pierro before he gets sued for sedition.
