Time to Guess Theme of the Next Town Square

Ever since TV acquired all that new acreage down south, I have been trying to guess what theme the next Town Square might have. (And there almost certainly will be a new one down there somewhere.)

Assuming the Developer sticks with their pattern of choosing a theme that reflects both the history and "personality" of the state of Florida, and since the Spanish, nautical and cattle/ranching themes have been used...what's left?

I'm going with...The Everglades.

That might be correct. Going with the fantastic beaches would be a stretch from the Bushnell area of Florida. No beach really there to speak of.

How about "too far to get to".

Chi-Town 01-02-2018 04:42 PM

Perhaps a train theme owing to the hub this area once was.

I was thinking, the new square should honor the very beautiful, young polo playing Paige Boone, or is it McCabe now?....

I wouldn't mind seeing that. But it would only appeal to rail fans and you can probably count those on one hand.

Two weekends ago the Model Railroad Club three day show at Colony Cottage drew 8,000 visitors. I'm sure a lot of Villagers have traveled via the Autotrain to Virginia, I have three times, or Amtrak in general. I'm sure many have traveled in Europe and Canada via some of the scenic train offerings. I believe a square geared toward trains and station depots would lend a nostalgic feel and could have many posibilities as far as design, structure and layout.

Here's the Autotrain station in Sanford, about 75 minutes east of here.

Prison Theme might work.

Kazmi 01-02-2018 06:29 PM

I think just a continuation of the look of Fenney.

Is there a plan for another square ?

TidalWalkers 01-02-2018 06:59 PM

On a recent ride on the Brownwood trolley ride from sales center out to Fenney, the tour lady indicated it might be a “town round” center.

Could be but I'd bet they would like to sell/lease multiple expensive empty commercial lots in Brownwood before they start building another expensive town square.

Tom C 01-02-2018 07:17 PM

Cape Canaveral / Cape Kennedy ? with Fireworks every night!

Moon shots in the bars! where Willie Nelson sings songs from his "Stardust" album every night ...

Agreed. Brownwood has a long way to go to become successful before another town Center will be built. I would guess it is @ 50% now compared to where it needs to be.

Aww, don't feel locked up. Nobody should have to live here unhappy! Sell your home and move someplace less constricting to you.

Villagevip 01-02-2018 08:37 PM

How about a square dedicated to frogs....For the full time villagers living here till they croak....

thelegges 01-02-2018 08:42 PM

Round or oval. Has been mentioned a few times. Oval I would go with horse track. Or could go with theme park like magic Kingdom small town street

Oh I don't feel locked in at all. Love it here I have one move left and that's in Bushnell National Cemetery. Just made the jail comment because some have complained (go figure) the Jail is to close and the bad elements are there.

All three squares, seems all couples...How about the new square for singles only, or wannabes(oh, oh)...You know, single and ready to mingle... A lonely hearts square.....

I know so many newer Villagers in their 50's dig Uncle Bob's Rock Shop, I do for one, and would like to see more 80's music at the squares. However, I really like the main drag at Universal Studios when you enter. Mel's Drive In and that whole 1950's persona could really be adapted here quite easily. Steak N Shake would fit in well, a Bob's Big Burger, various food franchises could adapt to the 50's. The radio station could built another studio and get more involved with square activities.

Just put a dome over it. With air conditioning. It will be the summer hot spot for the cool air. Have an Alaska theme for those that miss snow. Penguins walking loose would be cool. No cages.
A touch of the Wisconsin dells. All of the greedy stores could have open front like in Hawaii.
One windmill should cover the electricity.

SFSkol 01-03-2018 09:57 AM

How about an Alien Abductee theme?
In Which State Are You Most Likely to Be Abducted by an Alien?
With a: Johnnie Rockets.
Gators DockSide to Craters Moonside
Sonnys - Sunnies
City Fire - 3,2,1 Fire
All the streets named after Astronauts.
Apollo Theater
Mercury Square
Codys - Area 51

Am I the only one who does not think there will be another Square? I believe the master plan for TV is changing, definitely more homes and more golf courses and, of course, more commerce and shopping, but I don't think there will another square. I can envision the future villages in TV being built around the concept of Fenney; i.e. literally their own private entities providing much of what the residents want.

Brownwood actually had nothing to do with Florida, It was a tribute to an old family business they had back in Michigan, Go to around the 3 minute mark in this video attached below to see the Morse's explain. That square was very important to Gary Morse which explains why it was opened early so he that could see it before he passed away.

I also thought Lake Sumter Landing was opened in the image of a New England seaside village so I guess you don't need to limit your guesses to something in Florida..

I don't think the master plan has changed at all. Their formula of so many pools, rec centers, golf courses per 1000 homes etc seems very similar to what they were doing 20 years ago. If Fenny is southernmost Village, they plan to build north of there to fill in the space up to Brownwood. This would be consistent with having a town square within about 15 minutes from any Village. Unless they plan further expansion, I do not see another town square in the future. Brownwood acreage that is currently developed is about 50% of available land there.

Too far with an electric cart; gas will make it but you'd better pack a lunch for the journey. :D:D

The Leesburg land in addition to the land already set for development will add about 30 to 40 thousand more people to TV. When the population increases by almost 30%, a new square might be built.

There is a lot of land to build homes on -> Dropbox - IMG_0292.JPG
