Slingshot Rental

Where can I rent a Slingshot?
If you're unfamiliar with them, here's a photo.

Try Googling Polaris Slingshot near The Villages. Call the dealers listed, they might rent them or know who does.

Good idea. I see them for sale everywhere, but I had no idea where to look to rent.
Hubby and I want to make a little vacation weekend to the beach with one.

I am sure you are aware this is a 100% open vehicle; no top; no space to carry much more than a tooth brush.

Think motor cycle like convenience (or not).

They are fun to tool around in....no question about it!!

We pack light lol. It'll be just a duffel bag at our feet.

Will do!

Chatbrat 01-31-2018 11:23 AM

also, you must have a motor-cycle endorsement to drive one

spring_chicken 01-31-2018 11:27 AM

Google returns several results. The one in Daytona is $250 per day.

Yeah, we saw that one. Didn't know if there was anyone locally.

Why would anyone rent you a vehicle that you aren't licensed to drive?

I didn't know it was like a motorcycle. I thought it was an electric car.
Obviously, if I'm not able to drive it, I'm not going to rent it.

I wouldn’t have thought about that. Thanks for the info.

I think this vehicle will be fine on most of the Cart Paths :loco: but not so good in the Tunnels or The Golf Cart Bridge. Getting to Fenney will be a snap! :loco:

Chatbrat 01-31-2018 01:08 PM

Its too wide, won't fit in a golf cart garage, which means its too wide for a golf cart path--the only vehicle which has the same foot print as a golf cart is a Smart Car

It's not electric. It uses a Chevrolet 4 cyl. automobile engine.

Ride Now Cycles in Ocala has 60 new Slingshots listed on their website for sale. Current New Inventory | Indian(R) Motorcycle Ocala

I've seen at least four different Slingshots in TV in the last couple of years. There was a big story about six months ago I guess in the Wheels Section of the Sun about an owner in the historic side. According to this website link below, Florida does require a motorcycle endorsement. Personally if I were driving a 3 wheelers, I think a Can-Am Spyder would be more fun to ride.

some states do not require a MC license to operate a Sling Shot. Unfotunately Florida is not one of those States. The Do offer a Three wheel only MC license.

As of July 1, Florida will no longer require a motorcycle endorsement...to drive a three-wheeler on the streets.

Big front page article in the paper yesterday on "autocycles."
