Almost everybody says The Villages is their last stop, but....
In which town did you start? Where were you born?
I was born at the Ohio Valley Hospital on June 15, 1947 in Steubenville, Ohio. We lived across the river in Weirton, West Virginia, but there was no hospital there at that time. |
Mercy Hospital, Springfield Ohio. July 23, 1953. Or so I've been told. Don't remember much of that day!

Williamsport, Pennsylvania in January of 1947. My Dad was at Williamsport Tech on the GI Bill. We had previously been in Germany - Dad as a GI and me as a gleam in his eye. Holy crap, I could have been German!

Fort Bragg, California at the Redwood Coast Memorial Hospital.

St. Luke's Hospital, St. Louis, March 1936. My late wife, all of her siblings, both my brothers and my two daughters were also born there. The building still operates as a medical facility, but only as a neighborhood clinic. There's a "new" St. Luke's "way out in the county" - been there better than 30 years, I guess.

Navy Hospital, Banana River Naval Air Base, Cocoa, FL, better known now, I believe as Patrick Air Force Base. January, 1946. Moved to Washington, D.C. area and moved with my husband to Florida in 1986, presently outside Tampa, and as soon as we can retire in a couple year, we hope to be in the Villages.
