Block needed for gas pedal - short wife
The guy I bought my cart from had a wooden block with a metal bracket attached to it that allowed it to easily be slid onto the gas pedal and then easily removed. He mentioned that "some guy" around the Villages makes them. The cart we bought has the seats that adjust back and forth so we thought we could do without a block, but she thinks it would be handy to have one. Anyone know where I might be able to find one?

:1rotfl: I could not find that guy for the life of me so I had Mrs. Nucky Streched. :1rotfl:

My husband just attached a wood block with a couple of zip ties. I did see a guy advertising the real ones on the Nexdoor Neighbor website a while back.

Has anyone heard of something to be easily used for 'leg length challenged'(:D) folks...regarding the brake pedal?
I have seen a lot more issues from folks who can't/won't/don't properly use the left pedal...than problems being able to use the right one. |

We wouldn't have this problem if we all kept our disco shoes.
Remember the Bee Gees Lyrics ah ah ah ah pedals too low, pedals too low |

Re: Using velcro
Quote:
THEY DO NOT HOLD AS WELL OR LAST AS LONG. Velcro if you look at it is nylon hooks that catches a fabric material. I looses holding power as it is used and as it gets dirty. Also, it is held in place with a contact adhesive. I expect the adhesive also looses holding power over time and in heat. I hope there are better solutions. |
Call Charlie at 561-414-1090 - he is the pedal block guy

When I was 12 years old my parents bought me a 10 speed 26" bike, it was way too big for me at the time so I used these pedal blocks. A block would go on each side of the pedal on a bike, but on the golf cart put both blocks on the top side and then add the rubber surround, which is ribbed and helps the foot make contact. $10 at Walmart.

As JoelJohnson describes though, I'm sure that if the 'hook & loop' attachment he's chosen wears out...it's pretty simple to replace it. So I'll stand by Tomwed's description of..."Brilliant." PS. "Loses" holding power. :ho: |
I used a sanding block with zip ties, works great, $5 at Ace

However, I still maintain that someone who has a problem using the accelerator...will have even more problems properly using the brakes. A good solution needs to be found... for the left pedal too. |
Check Golfcartmaster.com They are located in The Villages and the lady dropped one off for us at the house. Great product. I am 5'8 and it does not bother me to leave it in place. Wife is 5' 1'

I don't have a cart. I guess the seat doesn't slide. Maybe if you change the integrity [if that's the right word] of the cart by adding a block you may have a problem should anything go wrong.
Way back when, my wife use to put a pillow behind her back. She hardly drove, I drove. |

Just buy a rubber sanding block and zip tie it to peddle. I'm a short woman and stumbled on this solution. Told my neighbors abut five others did it and love it. Bought at Walmart less than $5.

We bought a plastic block that attaches with Velcro straps. Bought it three years ago at golf store on 466 between Lighthouse Seafood and Morse. Can’t remember name of store.

It's called..."heel & toeing." :D And yes, for my 'fans,' I'm joking...as obviously we don't have to brake and downshift our carts at the same time. |
