What is your favorite Mallory Country Club food?

Our golf group will be going to Mallory Country Club tomorrow for dinner. What is your favorite food there?

bhoward 05-16-2018 07:41 PM

Pizza!!!

kcrazorbackfan 05-16-2018 08:26 PM

My wife's is their pizza; me? Meh, everything I've tried is not worth writing about.

simpkinp 05-16-2018 08:35 PM

I like be the Portobello Mushroom Pizza. My friends like the Pepperoni Mushroom or Pepperoni Sausage, and actually, any of their pizzas are the best of all the Country Clubs. They have a …make your own" option and a special of the day. Enjoy!

Polar Bear 05-16-2018 09:13 PM

I second (third? fourth?) the pizza. :)

wendyquat 05-16-2018 09:14 PM

And I second the meh!

ColdNoMore 05-17-2018 04:41 AM

My favorite thing at Mallory restaurant?

The check, after berating myself because I broke my promise...that I wouldn't eat there again.

golf2140 05-17-2018 05:01 AM

Chicken Salad Chicken

stan the man 05-17-2018 07:19 AM

Wow. Isn't that great A Country Club is known for its Pizza

Chatbrat 05-17-2018 07:41 AM

Its the pizza, probably the only thing that isn't prepackaged--

Taltarzac725 05-17-2018 07:45 AM

Mallory Hill Country Club - Home

I liked the mahi-mahi the last time I was there. It was not as good as that at Bonefish Grill though when they had it there. Have not seen it at Bonefish Grill for a while.

I will have to try the pizza at Mallory Hill CC.

Polar Bear 05-17-2018 07:58 AM

I suggest taking the various food snob comments with a grain of salt...no pun intended. ;)

graciegirl 05-17-2018 08:14 AM

The portabella mushroom pizza.

Also like their lunch specials. Just enough...

Chatbrat 05-17-2018 08:48 AM

When you see Sysco and Gordon trucks outside of the clubs and restaurants in TV--they're delivering prepackaged foods that have to be nuked or boiled--without them the small kitchens could never knock out the volume of food quick enough , to enable enough table turnover to make a profit

skip0358 05-17-2018 10:10 AM

I to like the pizza followed by meatloaf, when they have it. As for the trucks that deliver the food I don't give a damn what it says on the truck. I care about what comes out on my plate and how it tastes. If it doesn't taste good I don't order it again. The important thing to me is how I'm treated by the staff and if I have a problem how it's handled by management. That's the deciding factors as to whether I go back again along with the price they charge for what I eat. I didn't move here for gourmet food. If I want a better meal my wife is a GREAT cook and all I have to do is the dishes.

I echo every word of skip's post...especially the last sentence! :)

Chatbrat 05-17-2018 10:27 AM

We both cook and the dishwasher does the dishes

My Post 05-17-2018 10:36 AM

Has anyone tried the baked artichoke appetizer with the cheese? Sounds good.

I had the wings, they were fine. Just needed too many napkins.

raynan 05-17-2018 10:36 AM

Loading the dishwasher IS doing the dishes. :)

WELL..I guess, but at our house it also means putting leftovers in little glass lidded jars so you can throw them out later...and wiping off the countertops and cooking surface and the dishwasher (again) and the refrigerator(again) And seeing if the kitchen floor could use a sweeping. OH and the danged sink...it always needs wiped down.

My job has been changed since we have retired. I am the cooker person. He is the fellow in charge of cleanup after meals. I am loving it. He is a good worker, my dear mate.

Chatbrat 05-17-2018 11:40 AM

The biggest we have who unloads the dishwasher

Absolutely!

I didn’t mean that doing the dishes is ONLY loading the dishwasher. I should have said it INCLUDES loading the dishwasher. :)

But you can go to Gordon’s and buy the same food for a lot less, and get to read the ingredients on the package. I get why restaurants here don’t prepare their own food. It’s cheaper to take it out of a container and just heat it up. Kind of like the old TV dinners, but bigger package.

I try to shop fresh, and every other day to avoid freezing things. No processed food, it causes havoc on our system. No food snob here, just trying to keep what’s left of my heart working as best as it can.

I've never had anything great at Mallory. The last time we had pizza there, it had too much sauce on it and was kind of soggy. I don't know if that is the norm, we didn't go back.

Why in the world would anyone live in a place where there is no decent food to be found? Boggles the mind.

Umm, maybe because TV has never billed itself, or claimed, to be a culinary destination in the first place...versus being a place with a plethora of golf choices and other activities?

What boggles my mind, are those that seem to take great umbrage...in that fact.
