I second that the owners are from Massachusetts and do a great job with their chowder.

Your best bet...." Sams Club " they sell Legal Sea Food Clam Chowder....Legal Sea Food originated in Boston and one of their popular soups ...you guessed it Clam Chowder

As a past restaurant owner I would just like to add that "most" restaurants do not prepare their own NE clam chowder but just buy it from a food service provider and "doctor" it up a little. Sysco probable has over one hundred different types of soups that you can purchased totally prepared.

I heard the Lighthouse had good clam chowder, and all the fish I eat is wither broiled or sautéed--I hate fried fish of any kind,including shrimp, clams--the taste sticks with me till I brush my teeth

My wife likes the clam chowder at Tierra Del Sol. I like clam chowder as well but prefer their chilli.

I've had a great bowl of NE clam chowder in Rockland, Kennebunkport and Bar Harbor ME. I've dad a good bowl of clam chowder in Boston MA and Providence RI. Not so much anywhere else. Is there a great bowl of Manhattan clam chowder anywhere ?

Another vote for The Freezer. Best I have had around here

As Post#9 pointed out....Sysco delivers most of the food that the restaurant's serve here in the Villages....soooooooooooo You are eating " Sysco Restaurant " food . That's it reality check.

My 2 favorite area places for New England Style are below. These are great day or half day trips each about an hour drive from The Villages.

If you have not been to Celebration it is a must day trip just to have the Chowder and drive around the neighborhoods to see the homes.

The Blue Gator is a old river restaurant with a neat atmosphere.
