New flyovers of construction areas
I thought when I retired at the end of last month that I would have more time to fly and edit videos but I couldn't have been more wrong. I'm busier now than I ever was working, I love it here in The Villages!
I've posted three new video since yesterday morning of flyovers of the areas under construction here in The Villages. The first video is of the new medical facility and Atwood Villas near Brownwood and the work starting at The Villages Grows near Rohan. Brownwood area and Villages Grows The second video is a perimeter fly around of DeSoto, McClure, Monarch Grove, and Linden villages. I've added some map inserts in the videos for reference. DeSoto-McClure-Linden-Monarch Grove Areas The third video is of the work going on on the North/East side of the Turnpike. While not a lot to see it is obvious that they are moving quickly on the preliminary work. North side of Turnpike Enjoy the videos and the music and feel free to leave comments and subscribe to YouTube channel. If there's something you'd like to see from the air let me know and I'll see what I can do. |

Thanks......you provide a great service to all of us.
|
Love your work!! I am anxious to see directly South of the Brownwood square across 44. Lot of clearing and new roadway going in.
|
Again, very well done. Thank you.

Not only the videos but your knowledge of the area is amazing. Thanks and keep it up, I enjoy watching theses.

Outstanding
Thanks for the outstanding photo's. Great editing. I Learned allot about what going on down south. Chart off flight path is helpful would like to see a compass pointer if practical.:clap2:

Love your videos and the accompanying music. The captions are very helpful. Wow, all the building that will be going on for the next few years is amazing.
At the end of your videos, could you include what composer(s) and what piece(s) of music were used? Between your videos and Skip Smith's videos on YouTube, I wonder how many people have become interested in purchasing a home in The Villages? Keep the videos coming. :ho: |
Your flyovers (along with two-plane's)...certainly show the amazing growth here.
Maybe it already exists, but I personally would love to see a series of satellite photos that defines the expansion, of say the last 15 years...on a yearly basis. |

Thanks for the tip. |
You can also use the Google Maps timeline function and scroll through the years of aerial photography that way. I haven't done it in a while it is still available I just don't remember how to get to it.

What are you flying?

Got me hooked!! need more... can't wait. Thanks

Thank you for these. videos

I just got back from a weeks trip to Colorado so I should have the next video out tomorrow evening, a flyover of the area between Brownwood and the Turnpike. This should be similar as to what TwoPlaneKid did 2 weeks ago but at a lower altitude and obviously 2 weeks later.

Has anyone else noticed from published maps that the golf cart path that will cross near Rohan will be on the east side of 468. No way to get to Fenney from that bridge.

Or, no way to get from Fenny to Rohan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
If you put the few pieces of information together that have been published or made available through government web sites you'll see the outline of a MMP going from Rohan, across a bridge, and following CR468 down to the Turnpike area. From there it will pass under CR468 where you can go north to the bridge to be built over the Turnpike or south down to the "Bailey Bridge" which will likely be turned into a golf cart bridge.
Interestingly, the second bridge that was built over the Turnpike (north bridge) is much wider than required for cars and the detailed drawings that have been made available are very light on details for this area. It would appear that there may be sufficient space on the bridge for a golf cart lane(s) at CR468. It's not unusual for construction drawings to not include specific details, the drawing for the Monarch Grove area only showed a gap in the housing areas and a dead end street until the most recent 5600 acre purchase was announced, now all new drawings are showing that dead end road continuing south through the gap that was present. If I was a gambler I would bet on 4 turnpike crossings - the new bridge, CR468, Bailey Bridge, and CR470. This would provide the necessary bandwidth and accessibility between sections of The Villages without having to drive more than about 2-3 miles out of the way, similar to what we have now at CR466, 466A, and soon to have a SR44. |
Thank you very much. The videos are great!!
|
Thanks, didn't realize the size of the expansion.
|
thanks for the videos

what type of drone and camera do you use?

Really well done and quite informative -- thanks for your efforts !
|
What modifications have you made to the drone to make it visible for the distances you are flying?
|
This is fabulous. We’re building a new house in MCClure from Ohio and we’d love to see a fly by of our area once in a while!! Great jib

My guess is he doesn’t. Since he’s using “autonomous” software I would guess he just programs in the route, says bye-bye and waits for it to (hopefully) return home by GPS. Seems to work great. [emoji106] |

The autonomous flight software is mainly used for smooth filming as it can perform smooth transitions in direction, altitude, and camera angle in flight much better than I can. Almost every autonomous flight is flown manually two or three times before I let the aircraft and software run free with the programed path. Yesterday's flight between SR44 and the Turnpike was only about 11 minutes actual flight time, setup and check flights took well over an hour and burned through two batteries (25 min flight time each battery) making sure the flight and aircraft were safe at the 150 foot altitude of the first leg of the flight. |

Very very impressive! Do you think I can do that with my drone? :a20: https://s33.postimg.cc/tqjsx1clb/201...2_17.36.53.jpg |
Thanks, can’t wait for more!!!👍🏼
