Guy Fieri's, Part Deux

I'm surprised the culinary critics weren't all over the July 6 Daily Sun article about the restaurant that many "love to hate."

Guy Fieri's is now offering:
  • Sunday brunch
  • Lower prices on favorite meals
  • New daily lunch specials
  • New menu items
  • Lower drink prices

dewilson58 07-09-2018 02:29 PM

Thanks for the info.

I'm past due on going back.

:mmmm:

Thoroughly enjoy dining there!

My Post 07-09-2018 03:28 PM

Triple D has been going so long he is now revisiting restaurants he already went to haha! I feel like with his restaurant closings in California that Guy's shelf life might be getting a bit stale. I mean when you have Dennis Miller on how could you go any higher.

Chatbrat 07-09-2018 04:21 PM

Went there twice never again-- total tourist trap/ amateur hour

Shimpy 07-09-2018 05:01 PM

Sounds like they tried to gouge their prices and are now backing off to lower prices because less than expected results.

asianthree 07-09-2018 05:07 PM

It was ok, only 10 people in the place in May. Menu needed an up grade

fw102807 07-09-2018 05:11 PM

Spicy and greasy. Everyone wants gourmet options I would like to see some healthy options.

DonH57 07-09-2018 05:37 PM

There is one of his restaurants at the Cozumel Airport. Made the prices at the villages one look like Mickey D's. Never been in either and don't plan to.

:boom: Just what I was thinking when I read the article.

Just trying to keep their head above water till the lease runs out then they'll bail--

Most people are trying to succeed at business. I haven't been to Guy Fieri's, so I can't comment on their food. It is good to see that they realize what the local population is looking to spend on food in restaurants and have adjusted their prices. As always the market drives the prices.

ColdNoMore 07-10-2018 06:48 AM

Against my previous poor experiences, I decided to give another try to a restaurant with a famous chef's name attached...with the commiserate inflated prices.

I should have known better and can't see how Fieri's...will last another 18 months.

Chatbrat 07-10-2018 11:25 AM

Its a great format for millennial living in their parent's basements, who want a cheap place to meet others in the same boat

Doesn't fit in ,in a retirement community--cute schtick doesn't work

Gpsma 07-10-2018 04:07 PM

We need a Halal Chicken and Rice place here.

Fast Freddy 07-10-2018 05:28 PM

Bring back Honest John's

Pinball wizard 07-11-2018 10:00 AM

If any one wants to try it again, there is a groupon available.

https://www.groupon.com/deals/guy-fi...711_treatment1

Enjoy.

Chatbrat 07-11-2018 11:10 AM

I wouldn't go there, even if it was free

chuckles1952 07-11-2018 02:51 PM

Guy Fieri's

Stop there for lunch today. Same old menu. Asked waitress about new menu. We where told the only thing changed was that they now have a Sunday brunch. We left and will never go back.

Chatbrat 07-11-2018 02:56 PM

The definition of insanity--keep repeating the same thing and hoping for a different result--their menu, drink strategy isn't working

Chatbrat 07-11-2018 04:03 PM

Real food not Mickey D's on steroids with cheap booze

asianthree 07-11-2018 04:13 PM

Once Groupon is offered, the down hill slid begins

Yep.

All it takes is looking at him ...that pretty much says it all. The " Guy "...excuse the pun looks a bit like Sindad.

dotti105 07-11-2018 09:11 PM

“Guys Burgers” on Carnival is awesome! So we expected the same here.
We have been to “Guy’s” here twice and it’s terrible. The menu is very unimaginative and the place was empty with lousy service.
Their days are numbered.

bilcon 07-12-2018 08:56 AM

We really wanted to like Guy's restaurant, but each time we went the employees managed to mess it up. Went with five of us during Easter break. One couple waiting in front of us. The young inexperienced hostess gave the two a hugh table for 6. We were told it was 20 min wait, even though there were several big tables empty. They told us they were reserved. Why did she give a couple a hugh table when there were several smaller available. Poor people skills. Very little attention if you sit at the bar unless you are one of the 2 or 3 regulars. Yes, I did speak to the manager about the situation the next day and he apologized and said they are working on the problems. No improvement seen on a recent return visit. Goodbye Guy.

Chatbrat 07-12-2018 09:20 AM

Look at their website--,very few satisfied reviews--major problems-wait time, food prep and the big one is lack of quality staff--the perfect storm for a restaurant to fail

I recently paid $10 for a $20 Groupon at Steak & Shake. Are they in trouble too?

ditka41 07-12-2018 04:59 PM

The sooner it closes, the better. Tried ;it 3 times with the same dismal results. Perhaps the lower prices will be a temporary boost for them, but nothing is going to improve their poor service and sub-standard food except new management and staff. I was happy to hear the poor excuse for a manager had been replaced. He richly deserved a swift firing based on our experiences there.

Shimpy 07-12-2018 05:48 PM

Today's paper had an ad in classified for a manager for Guy Fieri's. Can you see the writing on the wall?

That's about manager number five for that place. You see them advertise in the industry listings all the time.

Skip

I was only there once but I have two comments:

1. I loved the chicken Cordon Bleu pasta, even at 7500 calories.

2. I liked the Bloody Mary, but the “salad” on top was unnecessary, especially on the second one.

Is Culver’s effecting their business :duck: S&S has always had coupons. Anytime you see free food, there is a reason behind it, new business, new management, or new place just opened up down the street, and need to bring in new business. Since I won’t eat in a S&S, I can’t tell you why they have resorted to Groupon

Is it possible that the constant barrage of negativity influences other restaurants from moving into the empty spots in Brownwood??

Guys wasn’t phenomenal but we enjoyed our meal an we’re taken care of properly. We will go back.

The constant bombing of most restaurants make it look like people are trying to be steered to a restaurant that the bomber has a financial interest in and away from a laundry list of places. Who knows? It is a bit much when it is constant.

Being a food critic is a great hobby but people invest their lives savings into getting these places going. I’m sure they are trying to please.

Couldn’t agree more

ColdNoMore 07-13-2018 07:27 PM

LOL

I'm personally finding it quite humorous, that anyone would think that a restaurant is experiencing a downturn and/or upturn simply because of a few negative/positive comments from the minuscule number of total residents in TV...who are active posters on TOTV.

Instead of the restaurants own actions and product quality...whether they be good or bad.

And as to some conspiracy, that those posting their own negative experiences because of some financial incentive at another establishment...I find downright hilarious. :1rotfl:

Time to cue the 'X-Files' music. :D

While I do love that show, the conspiracy theories espoused around here sometimes...gives it a good run for its money.

skip0358 07-13-2018 08:46 PM

Went there tonight had about 30 with us. New Bar prices were great I think the best in TV. We missed the new lunch menu a few had wings and other items no real complaints. They are offering a veterans discount everyday. There were quite a few people eating in the main restaurant area. Hope they can pull it together as it’s a great location. Time will tell. Oh yea this might help to 10% discount IF you a veteran. Very Cold Draft beer $1.75 , mixed drinks very reasonable.

Nucky 07-13-2018 11:23 PM

No problem. Give a reason for a constant volley of criticism on virtually every establishment. I don’t see the humor in attacking local businesses constantly and dovetailing the attack with comments about empty storefronts. Possible related? The amount of posters or who it is doesn’t matter to me. Everyplace can’t be horrible.

Never saw any television show with this plot. Just seems to make sense to more people than just me.
