Kitchen nook, uses beside table and chairs

Has anyone used their nook for another purpose, such as a computer station storage, etc? We feel that the dining room or area and counter are enough places to eat. Thanks in advance.

I have thought about making it a little den by the kitchen where people hang out and talk while I am cooking, and also for another sitting space to relax alone or with others.

You don't say what style of house. We had a pantry with coffee station built into the nook area of our Gardenia. It was like too tall skinny pantry sections with upper cabinets above the coffee station spanning the two pantry sections and three drawers below the coffee station spanning the pantry sections. The woodworker matched the kitchen cabinets perfectly--it looked like it came with the house. It provided so much more storage plus a place to stash coffeemaker, espresso machine, and toaster. The granite guy cut a piece of granite to fit in the coffee station. We replaced the (ugly) hanging light from that area with a pot light. We still had room for a small round table & chairs--40 inches round, I believe.

Office or storage area if it can be converted.

We have a Sunflower, which is the frame version of the Begonia. We closed off the nook and made a walk in pantry. We both love it.
We have a rainglass door going in from the kitchen. The space is 6x7.
On the foyer side we kept the arch and framed in the bottom half, then dry walled it all so it is an alcove for seasonal decor.
For us this is a great use! Don’t know how we could have survived with out it. I’ll post pics if I can figure out how.

Oh, whoops. Up there in my post #3, it wasn't a Gardenia we had; it was a Begonia. Dotti jogged my memory. Begonias only have one window in the kitchen because of the golf cart garage. So we built the pantry/coffee station next to that window. It looks like it belongs there.

We use it as a small den like space. TV on wall, sofa, reading chair and side table = perfect for us! In our house it leads out to lanai thru sliding glass doors.

In our gardenia, I installed additional wall cabinets on either side of the window, then wall units (installed as base units) and finally functional widow seats using cabinets that normally mount over the microwave. This was all finished off with matching stone counter top and backsplash.

I have attached before and after photos.

Well I tried to attach photos.....

Thank for the feedback, keep em coming. We do not have a designer, though are considering one. I was thinking of a small computer station, but the Sambuca idea sounds interesting. I did see where they placed two wing chairs and a small table in between, another nice idea.

Gardenia Nook

We live in a Gardenia. in our nook, we put in a ceiling fan, 2 chairs, a foot stool and a coffee table with a lamp. We sit there quite often and read.

We have a Wisteria. Took out the light fixture and added a fan. Put a wine fridge and cabinet to hold liquor and glassware for drinks.

Has anyone taken the window out, sheetrock the wall, and siding outside
