How is sprint cell phone service in and around TV?
I have looked at some older threads that were talking about different cell services and things didn't look too good back a couple years ago. We currently have Sprint and will be heading to the Wildwood/Lake Deaton area soon. How is sprint service in that area now?
|
I had Sprint for many years and it worked fairly well in The Villages. But, I switched to the new Comcast cell service that uses the Verizon network, and it is better. I wonder why the Verizon service is always the highest rated service. Why can't the other services ever catch up to Verizon? Sprint even has TV ads that admit their service is not as good. Go figure.

I've used Sprint for twenty years.Only had trouble in the beginning because of the lack of towers in the area of Vero Beach.
They will pay for one year of AAA if you have AAA. |
We are going to be seasonal for now so I can't see making a switch to another service for part of the year. Is there a pre-pay service that is adequate...just in case we need something different while there?

Tapatalk is an App that allows you to see TOTV'S on your cell phone. Otherwise, you can just type TOTV into the browser on your phone and go from there.
I'm in the Northern section of The Villages and all the people that I know who have Sprint end up trading it in for something else. They all seem to scream when they talk. Verizon has a plan that really is nice, Unlimited everything for $40 a line if you have two lines. Streaming Sirius, Pandora & Now the Village own Station WVLG 640AM is some much nicer now that you don't get charged for data overages. |

If you have Xfinity internet service, you can get their cell phone service that uses the Verizon network for $45 per month unlimited, or $12 per GB on a pay as you go plan, with unlimited talk and text. The phone should work practically anywhere in the country.
|
I can't speak for Sprint but Cricket, which is part of AT&T, is fine in that area and is $30 per month including all taxes and fees for unlimited text and talk, and 2 gigabytes of data.

It is an app that lets you connect to websites, but they show up in the correct format for mobile devices. TOTV doesn't have a mobile format, so if you download Tapatalk it improves your mobile experience with that website. Since I don't own a computer, my phone serves as my computer...

We have Sprint and it's one of the few services that actually has reception inside our home in Fenney. Most others have had to go outside or at least on their Lanai. I heard that there are now other carriers that are working down here.
|
Sprint is the only service I have ever had and we will have been here 15 years come February. I never had any other from the very first cell phone I had in Texas, when they first came on the market. Absolutely NO issues.....unless I forget to charge my phone.:1rotfl: In that case, I think whatever service is a moot point.:icon_wink:

I will add a little more confusion, we had Samsung Galaxy S5 phones and would occasionally have problems with Verizon, especially in the bowling alley at Spanish Springs. We bought new phones Google Pixel and reception is much better, and these actually work in the bowling alley.
So my point is that the age of the phone may make a difference in the reception. |
